July 23th Peter MacNicol's schedule is about to become even busier as the Numbers cast member is joining Fox's 24 next season as a series regular. The actor will portray a high-ranking government official in the real-time drama, which kicks off its sixth year at midseason. MacNicol has been a cast member on CBS's Numbers since the drama premiered in January 2005. He will shoot 24 and Numbers simultaneously. MacNicol earned three supporting actor Emmy nominations for his role as stuttering attorney John Cage on Fox's Ally McBeal, taking home the award in 2001. His other credits also include ABC's Boston Legal and CBS's Chicago Hope, along with voice roles in such series as Adult Swim's Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law and WB Network's The Batman. Oh he's got slimy double crosser written all over him. stare

Quote: Eric Balfour resurrected on '24' Posted Aug 10th 2006 1:23PM by Anna Johns Eric Balfour was the only good thing about Conviction, NBC's short-lived prosecutor drama. Luckily, he'll be back on television in the winter to reprise his role as CTU independent contractor Milo Pressman on 24. I honestly can't remember what happened to his character at the end of the season but apparently he didn't die. According to Michael Aussiello over at TV Guide, Balfour has signed on to a role as a 'series regular', which means we'll see him for more than one episode. Maybe he'll replace poor, sweet Edgar Stiles (Louis Lombardi)? I have one word for this piece of news: YUM. Yay! he was a fav of mine. (please don't die mmk?) he's no Edgar but it will be nice to have him back, especially with so few living regulars. you know i think he was the only reason i watched the first season of Six Feet under. xd

Sept 14th Eddie Izzard has joined the cast of 24 for the sixth series.
The English comedian will play the role of Darren McCarthy, described by producers as "a villainous accomplice".Also joining the cast is James Cromwell. The Babe star takes the part of Jack Bauer's estranged father, Phillip. The sixth season of the show debuts in January in the US, picking up the storyline 20 months from the end of the fifth series. ok, for those of us familar with Eddie it's a very humous thought of him being on 24. xp I'm kind of sad they couldn't talk Donald Sutherland into playing daddy. 20 months!?!?!

Add Chad Lowe to the mix. E! online/Oct 11th The Emmy-winning actor will join the cast of the hit show as "savvy politico" Reed Pollock, according to a release from the network. The sixth season of 24 premieres in January with a two-night, four-hour event. Season five, which wrapped up 20 months ago, left a battered Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) in the grips of Chinese agents, with his future uncertain. (Call us crazy, but we're betting he lives to see another day.) Lowe is just one of a number of notable additions to the award-winning show. Other new faces include Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle star Kal Penn and Peter MacNichol of Ally McBeal and Numb3rs fame.

24 Adds Rick Schroder to Guest List, E!Online Jack Bauer has yet another life to save. The 24 body count was upped again Monday, with the announcement that NYPD Blue alum Rick Schroder is coming on board for the Emmy-winning series' sixth season. Schroder, 36, plays CTU operative Mike Doyle, Jack's go-to man in the field, when Day 6 begins Sunday, Jan. 14, on Fox in a two-hour season premiere, with the next two hours playing out Jan. 15 as part of a multinight "television event." The former child star ("Here we are, face to face, a couple of Silver Spoons…") is the latest in a string of notable names who have joined the show during the off-season, replenishing the ranks of a cast that is inevitably depleted year after year by radiation poisoning, nerve gas, shootouts and massive (yet not apocalyptic—thanks, Jack) explosions. Here's a quick rundown of the new yet familiar faces you'll be seeing around the counterterrorism watercooler in 2007: * Peter MacNicol: Ally McBeal's Biscuit plays Thomas Lennox, a high-ranking government official who may or may not end up butting heads with Kiefer Sutherland's endlessly put upon Jack Bauer * Regina King: The Ray actress shows up as Sandra Palmer, a fierce advocacy lawyer and sister of two presidents—the late David Palmer and the incoming commander in chief, Wayne Palmer (D.B. Woodside, in an expanded role) * James Cromwell: The veteran character actor (L.A. Confidential, Six Feet Under) pops up as Jack's estranged dad, Phillip Bauer * Chad Lowe:The Life Goes On Emmy winner suits up as "savvy politico" Reed Pollock. Sounds like a possible pain in Jack's assignment log * Powers Boothe: Al Swearengen's nemesis on Deadwood takes up a new profession, playing Vice President Noah Daniels, always a part that could go either way on 24 * Kal Penn: As Van Wilder's Taj rises, so does Ahmet, a member of an Islamic group suspected of terrorist activities * David Hunt: The British actor and hubby of Patricia Heaton takes over the role of the villainous Darren McCarthy, a part originally intended for comic Eddie Izzard
Meanwhile, Jean Smart and William Devane return, respectively, as the now former first lady and the secretary of defense who apparently didn't kill himself at the end of season five. Mary Lynn Rajskub is also back as the plucky Chloe, who has had the fifth most face time of any castmember in the show's history, having managed to stay alive since season three.
