Primus is a great band, and the only one out there I know of that plays a lot of slap. Search for them on YouTube.

I have their "Antipop" album. My favorite song is, as one could probably assume, The Antipop.

Herr Kaiser Matthelm I think theres not one person in this guild who has not jizzed on a primus cd. any bassist who hasn't doesn't deserve to be in the guild. or alive, for that matter.

Herr Kaiser Matthelm I think theres not one person in this guild who has not jizzed on a primus cd. Heh, can't say i've ever gone to that degree of devotion when it came to Primus in general but I have torn up my hands overstepping my boundaries trying to be like good ol' Les. smile

I just started listening to them. My brother bought me Frizzle Fry. The next day I took what money I had and bought Sailing the Sea of Cheese and Pork Soda. God I love Primus.

But it's always such a pain in the a** when people claim to play their stuff perfectly, but really suck. I spent an hour perfecting Tommy the Cat, and some jag-offs think it's possible to do it in 5 minutes. Unless you were born with a fretless 6-string around you're neck, that's not bloody likley.

I learned it on a four string... which claypool has done... I cant play any Primus song with Claypool's sound... but that's because I play differently... and every one has a different sound... and it's not even possible to play any song perfectly in 5 minutes... most likely not possible to play any Primus song perfectly in an hour... except maybe a few... like too many puppies and most everything on frizzle fry... unless you can site read like no other... which I havent perfected that art yet... but I am getting better...

One thing i found to be really cool was this: A Tune brand bass through a Gallien Kruger stack. Sounds just like Claypool. Sam Ash carries these. My dad gave me some Yes charts to try to sightread, and i almost cried hahaha
