I had a very odd dream last night... it kind of reminded me of some weird obsure amine I would watch or somthing... lol. I could go into more detail about everything I saw and did... but I think I'll keep it short *laughes* for all of your sanity... I understand compleatly if nobody wants to read this gignatic text wall LOL.

I was living on the border of this run down old city. I lived out on the outskirts and had a little bit of land to myself. I had a big tree in the back yard and there was a small stream that went through the property. My house had no fences and seemed to just sit amongst the hills.
The house was an older house and was falling apart, weather and time had aged it beyond it's years. It had once been a nice and sturdy three bedroom house, with two stories and a nice sized garden, but as with the house, the garden had fallen into a state of disrepair.
I walked to the city from my house on a regular basis, and there was an old dirt road. I followed the long road through the hills and I seemed to arrive all at once to the city.
Everywhere I looked there were buildings on the brink of falling, with people everywhere in the hustle and bustle of life's many activities. There was steam emanating from the street and out of the buildings, so it was cold, but I was not cold at all.
I turned down one street and then down another, not sure of where I was going. I seemed to be lost amongst all the people and buildings, but I wasn't afraid. I went down a dark ally way and saw a bunch of kids beating and kicking another child.
I ran and fought off the attackers, and was met with a pair of very large eyes. The young boy looked at me and smiled, got up, and dusted off his overalls. He tipped his hat to me, which was an old English looking hat, and he picked up a big shovel.
He was all skin and bones, seeming to be consumed by his overalls, as they were dirty and about five sizes too big. Under his overall straps he wore a dirty tank top that had at one point been white. He had sandy brown hair that hung slightly too long, and very large green eyes.
On top of his head he wore a pair of goggles, and they had much caked on dirt and mud, and seemed not to be see through anymore. He carried an old and much worn shovel that was as tall as he was and should have put the skinny youth off balance.
He walked past me and out of the dark damp ally. He stopped and looked back at me as if to ask if I were coming and turned away from the opening. I ran after him and barely caught sight of his dirty little bare feet as he turned another corner.
I followed the youth through the city, and slowly started to gain on him. He was slightly slower than I was, probably due to the many times too large clothes and lack of foot coverings.
When I caught up with him, we had exited the city and were back on the dirt road towards my house. I was very much out of breath and wanted to take a break, but he insisted with a look that we press forward. I stood back up from my bent position and started again to follow.
I began to wonder why and how he knew where I lived, but that thought got cut off when I noticed that we were nearing the tree towards the back of my house. The tree seemed to sway and dance in the slight wind, as if it were excited by our approach. I watched with fascination as the tree 'danced'.
The boy continued to walk towards the tree, then went around towards the far side of the tree, where there was a hill I hadn't remembered seeing before. The hill had no grass on it and seemed to have been freshly dug up.
The boy nodded at me and lifted a secret door, smiling. I hesitated for a moment then plunged into the darkness of the hill. Quickly I was joined by the wispy youth and he promptly lit a lantern, although I'm sure it was for my benefit, as he could surly see just fine in the darkness.
I had been expecting a hole hidden away under the tree, but as my eyes adjusted to the relative darkness, I realized with a start that we were within a passage. The boy started to walk forward and I asked him where we were headed, and he simply pointed forward.
I shrugged and followed behind him, ducking slightly to keep my head from brushing against the ceiling. I wondered if he had dug out all of this himself, and if so then how come I had never noticed it, and where he placed all the dirt from digging these passageways.
I followed the boy for what seemed like ages, until we reached several other passages and rooms. We went into one that had a rather large fire burning in a hearth. There was a rather large bed off to one side and several couches seated around the fire. There was a mirror on one wall and a rather worn and dirty rug on the floor. On the far wall there was a curtain, and I turned to look at the boy, only to find he had closed a curtain where I had entered the room and had left.
I looked outside the curtain we had entered through and he had disappeared, leaving only a dark passageway behind him.
I went back into the room and looked around. I opened the other curtain and found myself in a rather large bathroom with a huge tub. I saw that the tub was raised off the ground, and under it was a fireplace for warming the water. I noticed a hose protruding from the wall, and another leading away from the tub. I nodded at the rather primitive way of getting water in and out of the tub, but smiled and I thought of how it was effective.
I went back into the former room and sat on one of the couches near the fire. I smiled and watched the fire dance and flicker and started to doze off.
I opened my eyes and found myself staring at a small girl, in a skirt and blouse, just slightly dusty. Her hair was an odd green color and she had it up in pig tales on both sides of her head. She smiled at me and I noticed her eyes seemed to dance like water.
She told me to get up and follow her, and she would show me around the place. I got up and stretched, my hands hitting the ceiling, making some dirt fall into my hair. I shook my head a bit and smiled.
I told her that I was sorry for hitting the ceiling, and she laughed. Her laughter sounded odd somehow, almost human, but not quite right.
She led me through more and more passages, and we weaved and turned through the labyrinth of tunnels until I was completely lost and all turned around. I mused that I could have found my way home from the room I had been in, but now I was forever trapped in this underground maze if these people didn't want me to leave.
We seemed to walk through these tunnels for days, until eventually I became aware of an odd sound that I couldn't place. I puzzled about the sound for a few moments, but was soon led to the source of the sound. A stream ran underground for a while, and the tunnel ran with it, making an odd echo sound through the passageways.
There were several girls along the edge of the water fishing and gathering rocks. I was not sure why they were gathering the rocks, but I could appreciate why they would fish underground-they wouldn't have to go above ground to fish, therefore they wouldn't have to be bothered by the above ground people.
I watched for a while as the girls fished and made piles of the large rocks, trying to figure out why they moved the rocks around. I shook my head and smiled as they looked over towards me. The girl I had been following said something I didn't understand and they went back to work.
The girl smiled at me and led me down the passage further. I followed and wondered if she were the boss or something, and why the girls were so quick to follow their orders.
Soon we rounded a corner and all at once I realized that the sound of the water flowing was only half of the sound I had been hearing, the other half was the deafening roar of a waterfall. My ears tried to block some of the intense sound out as my eyes tried desperately to take all of the view in.
We stood on a ledge some distance away from the running water.
The waterfall flowed out of the very ceiling above us, bringing in intense light with it and it roared down several hundred feet before becoming the calm waterway I had watched earlier. The very water seemed alive as it plummeted down through the hole in the ceiling to meet the ground in the large wide passage.
Everything was the most beautiful aqua blue I had ever seen. The color of the water seemed to infect the very ground we stood on as the light was thrown over everything.
I took a moment to drink in the beauty of the area and wanted desperately to memorize every bit of the churning and ever-changing water. I seemed mesmerized by the beautiful sight. I thought I could stand frozen as I was for all eternity and be just as amazed as I was at this very moment.
I realized slowly that the girl I had been following was shielding her eyes from the intense light and wanting me to follow her deeper into the passage. I sighed and followed, taking one last look at the intense beauty around me.
I followed her through the passage and we ducked into another turn and my eyes suddenly didn't work anymore. After a moment they returned to being able to see in the dim passage, and the girl seemed much more relaxed than she had by the waterfall. I wondered if the people here underground had ever gone out in daylight.
I ended up following the girl to a passage where there were several other girls digging and making new tunnels. The girl nodded and had me follow her deeper. I felt like we had been walking through these tunnels and wondered how far we had gone and where we had ended up.
I noticed how all the girls seemed to look the same. They all had the same odd hair and were the same build, I honestly could not tell one from another.
I frowned and wondered if they were all some sort of clones, and thought of an ant hill, and wondered if these girls were at all like a colony of ants. I shook my head and thought that even ants went out in the daylight to gather food and explore-these girls seemed to never leave their tunnels.
The girl led me to a tunnel that was at an incline and I began to wonder if I had been mistaken and maybe these girls
did go outside.
We eventually came to a tunnel that wasn't quite complete and we had to crawl on our hands and knees to go through. I was reminded of the tunnels in the play place at McDonalds and laughed aloud. The girl turned quickly and hissed at me to be quiet. I sobered up very quickly and, remembering the silence of the boy and the girls fishing and digging, wondered if they were allowed to talk at all.
I nodded to the girl and she returned to crawling up the tunnel. I followed and we came to a dead end. She pushed on the wall and it gave slightly. She pushed it to one side and the whole wall slid to the side, showing the bright lights of outside. She disappeared thought the newly uncovered opening and I followed quickly behind.
I stood out on a street of the city. I shook my head and realized with a start that it was night time outside. The light had seemed so much brighter in comparison to the dark tunnels, yet it was only the faint light of the city and the stars.
It had to have been between three and four in the morning, everyone had already gone to bed, even the latest of late-nighters, and yet the early morning risers had not yet woken up to begin their day. I shook my head and wondered why I was not tired at this hour.
The girl led me through the city and we stopped in an ally way and she smiled and picked up a cord. I realized it was an extension cord and helped her wind it up. I wasn't sure why she needed it, but I figured I could help anyway.
We took it back to the entrance of the tunnels and she tucked it away into a back pack I hadn't noticed before. She closed the secret opening to the tunnel and I followed her back through the tunnels.
Eventually she led me back to the room that I had been in at the beginning and left me there to sleep for a while. I was very confused and more than a bit hungry-as I hadn't eaten in at least a day-but somehow sleep found me easily none the less. Probably from exhaustion from hiking through the tunnels for who knows how long.
I awoke to a small girl of about seven or so sitting on the edge of the bed staring at me. I shook my head to clear the sleep and rubbed my eyes. She looked at me with fear in her eyes for a moment and looked down at her lap.
I said hello and she glanced up at me for a moment, and got up and stoked the fire. She seemed to shake as she moved, yet seemed very determined to not fumble or mess up.
I shook my head and sat up on the bed. The girl that had led me through the passages before I had slept walked through the curtain and smiled at the young girl as she worked with the fire. She looked over at me and noticed I was awake.
"This girl's name is En. She will help you gather and learn your way thought the tunnels. She is yours to do with as you please, but don't damage her until you know the passageways for she will not be replaced. Remember to feed her and she will last for some time." The girl turned and walked out without another word.
I frowned at the message and wondered if she was completely serious. I looked at the girl's slight tremble and realized she had been, and they had
given me this girl to help me. I wondered at what I was supposed to 'collect' but shrugged that off, figuring I would know soon enough.
“Come here,” I told the girl. She immediately dropped the log she had been shifting and came to stand in front of me, head down, eyes on her feet. “I… En, don’t be afraid of me, I won’t hurt you.” The girl glanced up for a split second before looking back down at her feet.
For a long time I gathered things from the 'outside' during the night, with En to guide me through the tunnels. Soon I knew the tunnels like the back of my hand and had no problem finding my way, but I kept En around for company and we eventually grew to be friends. En was a very helpful little girl and made things much easer on me.
Occasionally I went 'outside' during the day, by myself because En couldn’t handle the sunlight. On one such visit, I went to my house and was outside gardening, just for the fun of it, when there was a huge crash so loud I thought the earth had shattered.
I looked around and saw a huge cloud of dust erupting up from the city's general direction, and looking towards the tree I saw with a start that there was quite a sink hole and dust was funneling out from around it's base.
I ran down the dirt road and cried out at the sight. The city had collapsed on the tunnels, burying everything. All of it was gone, all of my precious tunnels that I had come to call home.
Several months later I had moved, and was in an airport, when I saw a little girl with oddly colored hair. She was cleaned up and was wearing clean clothes, but I recognized that girl anywhere. She had on a large pair of very dark glasses, and tears streamed down her face. She had on a large hat, and the brim pulled down as far as it would go to shade her eyes more.
I went up to the adults holding En's hand and asked them where they were going with the girl. The informed me that she was an orphan and was on her way to a different home until someone would adopt her.
I shook my head and kneeled down to the girl. I whispered her name and she opened her eyes slightly and looked at me. She flung herself into my arms and cried from relief instead of pain.
I adopted En and we got an old house in the countryside. We fixed it up and it turned out En had a real green thumb. We got three horses and put a fence around the pasture. Eventually En's hair faded from the green into an off sort of blonde, and her eyes stopped hurting in the daylight, although they never quite adapted all the way to sunlight.
