Hi everyone, I just joined this guild today and am excited to be here! =3
I was wondering if anyone can help me out with a few newbie questions I have about Pullips and some specifically for Mercu? sweatdrop
I tried searching the net, but can only piece together some information.
Okay so here goes... ^^;

1. I was wondering if Mercu's hair was removable? I read that some of the "newer" Pullips have wigs, that can be changed, but I couldn't find out which ones they were, and I'm too scared to yank on her hair... sweatdrop And if so... how would I go about removing the wig without killing her hair. Dx
2. What are the differences between the 3 versions of body types of Pullips?
I only learnt that the first version has a lot of screws showing and was bad in quality or something? Then the 2nd version had much less screws showing, but the body was still poor quality cause the neck would snap off easily. And then yet one more version came out that was more sturdy than the 2nd version, but less posable. And somewhere in between there, they made their skin matte instead of shiny. And that was all I could gather... please correct me if I'm wrong. ^^

Well...I'll try my best to answer your questions though I dont know everything sweatdrop
Anywho... As far as I know Mercu's hair is removable (if you wanna call it that) The later pullips have wigs that are glued on and some people have figured out how to get the wigs off and switch them around. (If you do this pullips fit 8-9 sd wigs) I'm not sure about the process as I'm too scared to do this to my girls ^^;
As for the difference between bodies. Theres 3 Types. Type one has screws as you said. Type 2 has a soft squish-y tummy that pops out of her waist then you bend her and occationally feet and hands fall out ( you just kinda stick em back in) I rather like my Type 2 tho she is slightly floppy...its hard to get her to sit up and stay. But I'm slightly biased as I've only really played with my Type 2 girl. Type 3 they went back to the hard bodies and their joints squeek.
Alot of people switch their bodies with Obistis (sp?) that are much more sturdy and posable but to do that you have to take off the wig and open up the head (and if I'm scared to change a wig like I'm really gonna open the head?)
As for finish...I believe the earlier ones were finished with shine and later ones matted. The only difference is one has a shiney face and one doesnt ^^;
If you do to a pullip forum you might find more information that will help you out...their alot more alive then here ^^;
Good luck with getting your doll (I dont have a Mercu but I've always loved her biggrin )

Yay, thanks for your info! I did slightly yank on my Mercu's hair and it seemed anchored on pretty well. ^^; I'll check out that PullipStyle forum and see if maybe I can find the process and decide whether I can muster up the courage to do it on my only Pullip. xD
Ahh I see. Thanks for the info about the bodies as well! Ahh... open up the head? Dx I don't know if I can do that... at least not right now... too scary... >__< (I'm the one too scared to even yank on my Pullip's hair too hard LOL, you're braver than me already xD)
Ahh yeah, I have seen some of the shiney faced ones, I think I prefer the matte ones though ^^;
Thank you very much! I got her a few days before I hunted out and joined this guild. xD She wasn't my first choice when I first got hooked onto Pullips (I've been hooked onto Pullips for about a year now lol, just never got one till recently).
Nero caught my eye first and I wanted to get her, then I saw Mercu and wanted to get her, then I liked Paja and settled on wanting her as my first Pullip. Stupid me, I saw all 3 in my local hobby stores, but cause I had to save up for tuition and other bills... (and $125 for a doll seems so steep for me... I'm poor Dx) I took forever to decide, and by the time I settled on getting one... Paja (and Nero) were gone. T___T But hidden in the back behind some of the other newer Pullips, I found Mercu was still there! And now she's in my room as an early Christmas present. xD
I like her a lot, she's so pretty... I can't wait to change her into some of the other outfits I have... x3 [/ramble]

Oh you got her! Thats awesome! ^^ and I'm not brave...I just dress them up XD I just read about the other things all the time. I'm on pullipstyle too (I'm Garnet there ^^) My first doll was Paja biggrin Got her for christmas last year...and then Latte for my birthday.
College...makes getting dolls a pain!

I've done quite a bit of customizing. I've used offset spatulas to remove wigs as well as pairing knifes. Just be VERY careful. at some point you'll be able to slowly pull it off. I did have problems with my Sage... he took me 30 minutes to scalp >,<

Nebula - Yeah, I have a feeling that's mostly what I'll do with my Pullips: dress up. xD Oh cool, I'm planning on checking on that forum so maybe I'll see you guys there. Oooh Paja... I wanted to get her first, but I lost my chance. sweatdrop Latte! x3 I saw a pic of her the other day and now I'm interested too... she looked pretty in the pic and I like her clothes. (oh man, i'm falling through a downward spiral. lol)

I sold her head to another girl and her original owner that I bought her from which is a very good friend of mine. Venus is a Type 2 body, which I switched her to an Obitsu. The tummy and neck can be a problem with the type 2 bodies ^,^

I was told when my friend gave her to me to be careful with her neck and I was. And so I never had any problems with her.

I dressed up my Mercu in another outfit.. she looks so cute... too bad I don't have a digicam to take pics and share with you guys! ^^
I have many outfits I want her to try... but school and work are keeping me busy, so I'll have to wait. ^^ (maybe I can borrow someone's digicam sometime... xD)
