Ok, yeah. Stone Sour. Not really the softer side, I've just called them that since consecutive singles Bother and Through Glass. I find it amusing.
Seriously, though, Corey Taylor has truly outdone himself with Come What(ever) May. I think that that album will be in my main rotation for the next year. And that usually doesn't happen.
But anyway...anyone else heard of them, or like them?

In that case, I recommend finding and listening to it, specifically the title track, "30/30-150", "Sillyworld", and "Zyzzx Rd.". "Through Glass" is slightly overplayed, but it's still a good song.
Corey Taylor is <3. If I wasn't obsessed with Layne Staley, I tell you what...

I won't consider my copy official until I buy one, but placeholders are nice too.

Hmm, I think Stone Sour is good. I mean I won't go out buy an album... But you know their singles are pretty good by my standards. Off the new album from what I've heard... "30/30 150" is pretty good and even had me addicted for a week or two. Corey Taylor's a good singer. He's got a unique voice, and that's the kind of thing I look in a vocalist. One who stands out.

Although seeing him in the video for "Through Glass" was just goddamn eerie. I still had the "Bother" image, with the dark hair and all, and I just went all "********?!?!?!?" for a moment. Then it said "Stone Sour", and I'm all like "Corey? ********, I need psychological help. I know.

Heh, I'm still dissapointed. You know... Whenever a personality unmasks itself... (WHY KISS WHY?!) it kind of ruins what you thought they would look like. I was not expecting a hick under that cool image. More power to Iowa I suppose... Breaking the stereotype.

He needs to dye it Black/red again, the thought of Kurt singing Slipknot is not comforting -Huggles babyblanky- I wish he would go back to Slipknot, I am not too into softcore rock that StoneSour bring. Give me death metal any day...

Heh, Puppy it's only a side project. He switches between bands... Slipknot comes back in '07.
As for Taylor looking like Cobain, I have to disagree unless you can show me a good example. I've seen the two and I think they look nothing alike besides maybe the hair.

I got the album a few weeks ago. The cover said the hit songs off it were "Through Glass," "sillyworld," and "Zzyzx Rd." and after listening to it quite a few times I'm really dissapointed that's what they used to advertise Stone Sour. Yes they're softer than SlipKnoT, but they still have an edge. Advertising the soft songs isn't cool.
But yeah, 30/30-150, Hell & Consequences, and Made of Scars are my recommendations.
