Ok purkles, I need some help coming up with boy names that Jason and I like! They're so much harder than girl names.. I like a squillion different girl names (but we have one picked anyhow.) When I was pregnant with Jade, our original consensus for boy was Isaac, but halfway through pregnancy, we changed our minds to Micah. Micah is what I had in mind this time, but Jason's liking that less and less, so we're searching for alternatives. So far ones we kind of like are Brandon Adrian Aiden Logan Tristan Ryan Aaron Darian/Darion/Darien Damian/Damion/Damien (I'm adding to the list as I find more he's ok with! Funny, they all end in N so far!) and I KNOW there are other names out there I just need to suggest and ask him what he thinks, but I can't find any, even though I'm scouring some baby name sites (there's some WEIRD stuff out there!) He does NOT want any cowboy sounding names like Austin, Cody, Taylor, etc.. Help! stressed

Oh let me clarify too that Jason does not like names that can be shortened into nicknames, like Anthony, Thomas, Gabriel, James...
He's really liking Tristan right now though, and it's growing on me..

Hahaha! Tristan means the noisy one, Aiden the fiery one, Adrian means dark or rich, Logan is a cove, Brandon is a raven, Damian is a trustworthy friend (seems odd because Jason likes it from the movie The Omen), Darien is wealthy...
I like the noisy one and the fiery one! Could be very true! I was joking to Jason that since my mom says Chinese couples often name their kids with the same first part of their name, like she and her brothers and sisters are all Kok-something and her brothers kids are all Kar-something, and her sister's kids are all Oon-something, I thought about, hey! How about me and Jenni? She's Chun-Lian and I'm Qiu-Xia! Those aren't the same. But translated, they're Spring Lotus and Autumn Twilight, so they're the same theme. So if I'm going for the same theme as Jade's Qi-Hui (Long Awaited Blessing from God), then maybe my next one should be Much Dreaded Trouble instead. razz rofl
But actually, I'm sure it can be Qi-something, even if not "Long Awaited" there are MANY translations of Qi. I should talk to my mom about some ideas..

I like the theme idea... Was hoping Lumpy would be Lumpette so we could go with another precious stone...
Who knows.. maybe we will be able to.
We are stuck trying to think of boys names.. I was thinking Robert for a center name (my dad's name and hubby's dad's center name, and his grandfathers first name) But the more we hear ourselves saying it, the less we like it.

there are precious stones you could use for a boy Jasper, Jet (heaven Forbid, thinking of Lass's creation Much Dreaded Trouble would certainly fit THAT name)
does knowing roughly when your boys will be born give you any inspiration? with various star signs and other astrological things presenting themselves?
i still feel like i cursed you both into having boys with my comment about that when you first mentioned that you were both expecting redface maybe you should both call them Jack then ninja

Actually I don't know yet if I'm having a boy or girl. We tried to find out twice, but the baby evaded us both times, so it's destined to be a surprise!

Micah is cool. I like Saphron for a girl (intentionally misspelled from "saffron")
There's a family across the street from my mom and everyone in it has a name that starts with "J" except the mom: John, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jessica, John Jr. and Alice.
In keeping with this may I suggest for a boy:
Jacob
Jaden
Jafar
Janus
Jared
Jasper (also a gorgeous reddish type of quartz)
Javier
Jax (yes I watch General Hospital)
James

Hehe! What is it with A's and J's!? All of Jason's brothers and sisters are either A or J, as well as his parents, and quite a few of the nieces/nephews/spouses are too. And this Alice goes along with our trend! 4laugh
Our girl name will keep in trend with this, but the original boy name Micah was at least going to keep in line with a few of the other names in the family, like Michelle and Michael.
Of the J names you listed, we already have a Jeremy, Jared, and James in the family. Jacob is one of the middle names, but Jason doesn't like that it can be nicknamed Jake, and I've mentioned Jasper to him several times, and he always shoots it down. Oh, and my sister-in-law has a Jaden for a nephew.
I really still like Micah because of the ore/gem/stone theme, it's original, and its similarity to my dad's name Michael and also Audra's fiance Michael who will officially be joining the family about a month after the baby is born. I'll have to ask Jason again why he's liking it less and less. After going through so many names, I'm liking it more and more! rofl
