New User Quest

If all goes well you should just be able to follow the prompts and complete this quest but here is an overview.

For now it seems that the My Quests icon lights up every time a step has been completed successfully. sweatdrop

1. Click on the My Quests icon. (In the upper right, the button with parchment on it between the Announcements bullhorn and the Rare Events Exclamation point.

2. Click on the New User Quest link.

3. Follow Moira's instructions to Customize your avatar. (You really need only change one item and save, though if this step "hangs" you may have to do it a few more times or try waiting several minutes. Prize: Blue Head Wrap (it seems to be the same for everyone.)

(If you run into trouble on any given step it sometimes helps to click the My Quests icon and New User Quest link again. It worked to advance me a few times.)

4. Visit Moira's shop. Prize: 15 gold.

5. Do Daily Chance (Went off automatically for me but some have had trouble.)

6. Visit Barton Boutique and make a purchase (anything, it shouldn't matter.) Prize: 25 gold. (This is where mine has hung for the time being.)

7. Equip item just recently purchased. Prize: Blue Flame Shirt. (Again, you may have to do this a few times to get it to grant.) The magic advance button for me was to clear my cache, delete all cookies and offline content, restart computer and browser and viola.

8. Post in Welcome Forum thread. Prize: 50g

As of this posting there are some problems with the thread not allowing people to post and/or insisting they haven't posted yet. I managed to get the quest step to "set" by clicking the My Quests icon, then the Announcements icon and going to the thread via the link in Rina's post. I got some errors while trying to make the post but when I went to My Gaia to profile-stalk myself to see if it went through Moira let me know that I'd completed a step and I was then able to finish the quest for 50 gold.

Note: The quest system is obviously still buggy and as of this posting still being changed. If you manage to complete the quest but Moira still won't go away the first thing you can try is clicking on My Quests and if the New User Quest still appears in your available list, click on the link. That should clear everything up. If it doesn't, try clearing your cache and restarting your computer. heart

Nancy Drew Quest

1. Click on Start Quest in the announcement.

2. Pick a theater and load Cinemas.

3. Once you're in Cinemas return to Nancy's Profile and talk to her again. (You do not have to watch the trailer. You also do not get the magnifying glass yet even though she says you do.)

4. Accept Quest and view Nancy Drew Guild. A tape recorder should be floating around the first page like any other event. Click on it. Click again to analyze.
Award: Detective's Magnifier.

If the tape recorder does not appear, go to the icon panel in the upper right by your avatar and click the Quests icon, click on the link for Nancy's Quest and return to the main guild page.

This quest may be done three times.

Nancy Drew Pt 2: (3x)
This quest works essentially exactly the same as above. The reward is a Detective's Flashlight and the bug I found was that towns never loads but as soon as you get the error on the Cinemas window you can talk to Nancy again and continue/finish the quest.

Apparently since the pt 3 update and/or the recent profile system update the option to talk to Nancy via her profile has been removed. To get the quest progression after visiting Cinemas navigate away from the profile page and then click the quest notification you should then have. (Voleur dCoeur)


Nancy Drew Pt 2: (3x)
Same format as the first two parts--mostly. Once you return to Nancy after at least attempting to load Cinemas she will send you to Rufus who will say a few silly things, prove he's a cat once and for all (by his eating habits) and send you back to Nancy who will then give you the Detective Kit, aren't you lucky? whee
