I have an idea for my story. Its the second part of a story that doesn't even have a first. Anyway, They are on a ship that flys flags of many colors. The black flag of the pirates, the white flag of the ferrys and the blue flag of a slave ship. I just need some imput on how I should say this.
Heres the section I'm stuck on:

"It sometimes flew the black flag of the pirates, and the blue flag of a slave ship, which it flew now as it was transporting ten slaves of mixed races. More than half of them were escaped convicts, the rest were just caught. Seven of them were convicts, five of them humans, and the rest of them were Vernada and Basti, which Serena had protested and almost started a fight over."

I'm not sure how far I should go with Serena (The female Basti, which is a race of Anthro) and her dis-like over her race on a slave ship, and how Vincent (Her human lover) should react.

My idea was that someone would say the wrong then and then she'd flip out, or she just sulks and Vincent tries to cheer her up with one way or another.

If you need the Whole part-of-the-story I'll post it if its needed.
