Twilight glistened the sky as two strangers were about to meet in District Two of the last refuge for all those who's worlds were engulfed by darkness. Traverse Town was a bubbly, busy area with lots of people, some looking for an opportunity, some staying there as their last hope, some have already lost hope, and some are riding this thrill of a life as though things couldn't get any better. One of these strangers was looking to target those who were lost, trying to find something that would allow them to be easily swayed towards his ultimate goal, and the other was looking for something, not necessarily lost, per se, but definitely missing. As they each rounded their own corner in one of the less-inhabited areas of this town, they stood on either end of a large, flat area that seemed perfect for celebratory occasions and other such street-fair activities.
Luxord surveyed the area briefly with half-open eyes and a bored expression as he stepped in front of the gizmo shop, and rested his gaze curiously on the man across the strip, bringing a hand up to his chin and raising his eyebrow.
Kadaj walked out in front of the fountain with a confident gait, but at the same time something didn't seem quite right. He seemed distracted, if not a little discouraged as he looked up and scanned the hotel across the way, his arms crossed as he muttered something to himself in frustration.
Luxord took a step forward letting down his hand and his mouth grow into a smirk, "One shouldn't be running errands before nightfall alone" he called quietly, but audibly in the silence of the abandoned street.
Kadaj caught the movement of the man in the corner of his vision, and pivoted to face him, reaching one hand over towards the hilt of his blade, but not touching it. He gave a wan smile when the man spoke, and nodded, replying, "Ah, but wouldn't you know it, good sir, but I'm looking for something very close to me." He gave an exasperated sigh, as his hands raised in the air with a nonchalant, exaggerated shrug while adding on, "You see, the problem is that I'm looking for something I have never actually seen..."
Luxord sidestepped and leaned, bemused, against the wall as he watched the other player explain, and he opened a hand gesturing welcomingly, "perhaps all you need to find it is help." He said lightly with his eyes closed, taking a few steps forward to him wondering all the while what this man's game was, and if his approach could lead to something interesting in his own quest.
Kadaj watched the man skeptically as he moved, but lent an ear as he spoke. "I don't know that you would understand the situation at hand," he offered lightly, all the while standing his ground as the man approached, "It seems... very specialized, as though catered just for me..."
"Then why not enlighten me?" Luxord asked, unpalming a coin which he began flipping distractively. "Think it no shame to be helped", his eyes following the progress of the coin instead of Kadaj.
"But what if I were to ask you the very same thing?" Kadaj inquired, leaning forward a bit, placing one hand on his hip, the other pointing towards the sky inquisitively, "Why are you here, and why is it that you seem so interested in what I'm doing?" He didn't like the fact that he was being targeted so much when he was merely making a perimeter check of a new territory.
Luxords smirk faltered into a contemplative frown as he caught the coin and paused before replying, "Because you are different from the others here aren't you? You know you are missing something but you don't know where to start looking or even how to look, if this is true you're searching blindly and I must ask you again, why are you here?" He was running a gamble that his words were close to right, and if they weren't what could he lose? Nothing he would lament being rid of.
"Well, yes, but that's merely because you're parroting back to me what I've already said," he responded stubbornly, "And if you really must know, I'm here searching for Mother." He paused, and standing up once more, he crossed his arms across his chest and grinned wryly, "I don't suppose you've seen her, have you? Because if you have, that would be wonderful. For both of us."
Luxord blinked nonchalantly and, leaning against the wall, went back to flipping the palmed coin, “I can’t say I have, and I can’t say I haven’t…but why not let down your barrage of retaliation and consider my assistance…”
Mod note Please vote on each character individually. When voting, say "Kadaj in" or "Kadaj out" and "Luxord in" or "Luxord out." Or something to that effect. 3nodding

Can I just say "Yes for both"? Because I've been trying to recruit Roger for a long time now, and I don't see why I'd vote against myself... >w>;;
Come on, folks, let's get Roger in this guild!!

Well after this being throughly read, I would say yes to them both.
A very small note to Roger: We (Jessie's sister, Jessie and I) all think that perhaps Luxord attention might remain on his unknown company rather then the coin that isn't unfamiliar to him (AKA it won't possibly kill him).

I'm going to say "Yes to Both" because...I'd like to do it obviously and I think Zen pulls off the whole "I've lost my mother and I don't care about you if you can't help me" thing pretty well.
@ The very small note: That's true, I guess it could've been more obviously mentioned but he was just testing Kadaj's patience for talk (like I do in real life >.>), plus, you know, peripheral vision is your friend ^^
