I love 80's music, because it has a TON of good stuff, and started up techno, the best thing to happen to the world of music.

So, I love the 80's, and they shal never die! for the 80's lives through everyday techno, oh yes they do.

And, my favorite band of all time is Ian Van Dahl. Hands down. No doubt. I love EVERY song on their newest CD - Lost & Found, and about half on Ace. So good...

This thread is totally going to overlap with other threads in the future~ xd

*is so glad we're so nice and snug right now* heart heart

Hahaa~ but yeah! Lots of my favourite artists are Japanese, so you can see what I like in that territory in Lo's thread! xd

Outside the Japanese arena, I certainly like Anodize (Chinese rock), Silver Ash (Chinese rock), The White Stripes, Ibrahim Ferrar (Cuban), Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, In Flames (Swedish heavy metal.. but they speak english?! xd ), Seo Taiji (Korean),

...yeah, I definitely love the rock. xd I really like the blues and some jazz as well. I really want to find the jazz that I like though... I mean, I just bought a bunch of cheap jazz CDs? But most of those classics didn't hit my spot. I want to figure out what genre of the jazz it is that I like the most. whee heart

My dad was the jazz-man. Try Miles Davis, The Yellowjackets, Coco Mai Mai, Joao Gilberto, Chris Rea, Hiroshima (japanese jazz band), Sade ( heart ), and Gill Evans.

Next broadcast I make I'll put some up for you. The ones I listed up there are my personal favourites, try them out. There are many different types of jazz (such as SCAT, brazilian jazz, japanese jazz, mambo, who-bop, etc.)

I love alot of music from the '50's - '80's.

Nowadays though, I'm mostly into Punk, and Rock. To name a few bands... Good Charlotte, Evanescence, Linkin Park. Jackalope is a band I'm starting to get into. Oh and of course, an oldie but a goodie.. AreoSmith.

Oh jeez.

I'm really big on Classical. Holst is my favorite composer, but I listen to a lot of Mozart and Strauss for their horn concertos, some Shostakovich, Vaughn Williams, and some other random stuff. It's all good.

Jazz is awesome too. Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, the good old traditional jazz. None of that crazy contemporary and stuff. Well, I suppose Chick Corea is good, but you know.

Last of all, I love the 70's. Best. Era. Ever, haha. I'm so big on Earth, Wind, and Fire, Tower of Power, Rick James, all of the stuff included in Motown (so much to naaaame!). Have to love it.

Techno owns, too. 3nodding

Oh, sure thing! I would suggest you get "Take the 'A' Train"and "It Don't Mean a Thing" or it's other mix, "That Doo Wop Thing" by Duke Ellington, "A Night in Tunisia" by Miles Davis, I believe, "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin.

There's also some other cool stuff, like "Spain" by Chick Corea which is more contemporary, "Caravan" by Duke Ellington, "Birdland", "On Green Dolphin Street" and "Chameleon" Which can be found done by Maynard Ferguson, "Sing, Sang, Sung", all of which is mostly all Big Band. Big Band Jazz is all about tradition, man smile

I have most, if not all of these songs, if there's any you want. I hope this helps!

Even though you didn't ask me, I suggest: Sade's Smooth Operator, Sweetest Taboo, and King of Sorrow. Sade's music is soooo romantic~! I also suggest: Chris Rea's On The Beach and Josephine. Hiroshima's One Wish, Ripples in Our Waterfall, and Save Yourself For Me, as well as Diana Krall's The Look of Love.

Jazz is so relaxing, everyone should at least listen to jazz music like once a month. ^o^

But I would have to say i'm more into the alternitive / pop/punk or whatever types of music you here when you walk down the street of a big well-known city.

I can't really choose a genre which fits me since I've grown to love all kinds of music.

But for bands I like Chronic Future, Lola Ray, NFG, and a whole lot more. ^o^
