Fighting yay! That's right, I love fighting this is my forte, when I used to RP on Yahoo there were many a fighters who died at my hand ^^ I was going to lump magic fighting and hand to hand in the same post but decided not to, they each deserve their own post, besides I have to describe the types of fighting rules.

Fighting Rules:

Type 1(T1): This type used to be very popular in chats, it is based on speed rather then true skill or ablity, 1 line attacks are ok so is are 3 line dodges. Example:

Aidyn: slashes his katana at Mamoru's chest
Aidyn: cuts Mamoru's chest
Mamoru: Dodges the slash

In this case Aidyn's shot would connect. Most of the time you will get ignored if you RP this way so really don't

Type 2: This is a style based mostly in forums and is very heavy on writing. This style gets a little tricky when it comes to hits but we'll get to that soon enough. A valid attack in Type 2(Or T2) must be atleast 3 sentences long, valid dodge must be 2 sentences long. Attacks and dodges may be combined which, you must have 4-5 sentences for a combined dodge attack.

Valid Attack: Kali stood perfectly still for moment, gripping her masume tight in her hands. Catching site of her opponent she smirked and turned toward her again. Arching her back, she pulled her right arm back as far as it could go. With one swoop she brought the masume down, slashing at Neptune's chest.

Valid Dodge: Neptune saw the masume swinging at her chest, she smiled and jumped off to the left. She landed with a smile, one knee on the ground; her fukuu was torn in the front from the slash but she was no worse for the wear otherwise.

Valid Dodge Attack: (Neptune just punched at Kali's face) Kali pulled her head back, arching in her back and twisting her body sideways. She felt the wind and force of Neptune's punch wiz by her face. Grasping her masume in both hands, she twisted back again. Lifting the Masume over her head, moving her arms down again, slashing at Neptune's back.

HITS AND MISSES: Here is the downfall of T2 fighting, there were no rules as to hits or misses. It is based solely on the honor system. There is no time limit for how long it takes to dodge an attack. This caused alot of problems as people would constantly dodge, others would get so frustrated they would have undodgeable attacks. This is where the idea of no godmoding came in. This is also where the karma comes into effect. Karma was used on many forums to decide your luck in connecting attacks. Usually it would have a high point(15 on most) and a low (1). They would set a number(20 usually) and your karma is how many attacks out of 20 you would usually land. Many people did not excerise common sense, rolling left for any attack, despite it's size or strength. Things also considered: Characters Magic, Speed, Aglity, Strength, Defense, Hit Points, and Level(more on these later).

T1/T2 Hybrid: This was for a while the most common RP style in Yahoo! Chat User rooms. It combined the best of both T1 and T2 styles, some people called it T3. Attacks and dodges held their length, and there became an applied time limit. You had 2-3(4-5 on forums) minutes to complete your dodge, or you were hit. This also ment once you recieved a strike you moved slower. Invalid attacks result in an automatic dodge, invalid dodges result in an automatic hit, this includes killing strikes. This is also where character stats came in more imporant.

Free Rule: Probably the most common now, it's no rules basically. However more accurately it "free rule" is basically the rules of the forum. This is what most of the RPs are here.

Other Things Considered in Fighting:

Magic: Magic users can cast spells to protect themselves, depending on their magical strength their magical attacks can do serious damage. Usually very low strength

Speed: How fast, the smaller the character the fast they are usually.

Agility: How easy they can dodge, agile people can dodge easier, are generally thin and less powerful.

Strength: How strong your attacks are, Max damage done by a physical blow, low or no magical strength.

Hit Points: How many attacks you can take before you die

Level: Each time you increase a level all stats increase by 1 or more, hit points 3 or more(depending on where you RP)

How hits and misses are calculated Strength or Magic Attack - Defense. If strength is higher person takes that amount left off their HP, if Defense is stronger, it is dodged.

SO We're going to pratice T2 hand to hand fighting styles now yay!

Remember to describe motions, use sounds colors ect... to extend your post. 3 sent. min for attack 2 for dodge. Don't have anything auto connect.

Kali:
Level: 25
Hit Points: 241
Strength: 38
Defense: 57
Agility: 70
Speed: 66
Magic: 71
