Has anyone here ever been close to death, escaped death, or thought you were dying? How did you react? How did you survive? Stories, anyone?
I am very accident prone so I have had many. Car accidents, knives, fire.

I've been officially dead two times from drowning. The first time I was dead for like 3 minutes and then I just suddenly choked up the water. The second time was for like 7 minutes and one of my friends kept trying to push water out and air into my lungs and it finally worked.
Both times my friend Jake was around. He was teaching me to swim, so we stayed close to shore. The first time I was officially dead, his mom had come down to talk to him and I had wandered out on my own. (I was only around 5 or 6, mind you.) There was a huge drop-off that neither of us knew of and I fell in. Luckily, he was paying attention at that moment and managed to get me out of the water. I was barely breathing and the ambulance was only about 10 minutes away. They got there and started trying to pump the water out. All I remember was going black, like I was sleeping, then coughing up water. Only, the ambulance guys said that I wasn't breathing for a full 6 minutes, and for 3 of those they said that I was officially dead.
The second time was much the same, except a snake chased me into the deep end and scared the crap out of me. Jake managed to drive the snake away and then drag me out of the water. Once again, I blacked out for like 10 minutes and they said that during that time I was officially dead for 7 minutes. Thank goodness Jake didn't give up. He kept pushing the water out and air in, so he saved me.
Unfortunately, last year, only about 2 weeks after Christmas when he came down to see me, he died. He was on his way home and was killed by a drunk driver at 9:11pm, January 4th, 2005.
What's strange? I was listening to "My Immortal" by Evanescence at the time, which holds a lot of memories.
He was like my brother... He used to stop my tears, hold me at night (when he lived with me) 'cause I always get nightmares, he helped me through bad relationships, he got me out of near-death situtations, he backed me up in a fight, and so on....
But yea. Jake was (and still mostly is) my rolemodel.

I have almost drowned tons of times but never been officially dead from it though. I remember once me and my moms friends kid went to the beach, he is like 2 years older than me, well one day we all went to the beach and me and him wanted to go swimming in the deep part at the beach so we kept going out really far till we got out where the current was, me and him almost got sweeped out into the ocean by the current, we were almost caught in the undertoe.

I'm very accident prone. I've had a few. First my own birth I almost died. I've almost drowned when I was 11 & my house burned down when I was inside it. I was asleep but luckily my dad woke me up & we got out about 3 minutes before it pretty much collapsed O_o;; That happened two years ago.

Its funny alot of my near death experiences are minor but alot of people think its because when i was born my e-cord was wrapped around my neck 4 times, they were suprised i survived, i just think its my life=risk attitude.

I almost drown when I was really little. I just remember my dad taking off his shirt and getting ready to dive in because I kept going under and struggling to get back up to the surface.
The other time my cousin and me and my sister were playing and my cousin locked me in a trunk and I would have sufficated if my sister didnt tell the adults what happened. I fogave my cousin right away. I hope she still doesnt feel bad.
Well I guess there could be three times. I was a baby and almost choked on a peice of candy.

§Hë UšèÐ ä PõïšøŊ ïÑ Hïš ŧεä I have accepted that i did nothing wrong and i assume no guilt for the stupidity of his actions, At least he hit me and not a school bus and i healed.

The doctors advised my mom to have an abortion. They thought I was going to turn out retarded because one of our cats had some illness and my mom caught it or whatever. Something like that, I don't know too much about it. As for any other real near death experiances can't think of one.
