What genres? I prefer mystery. Recommendation?
@HombreSabio: Good for you. That's a skill we all should learn probably in the near future...

I'm not much on mysteries, all my books have a slight mystery to them though. But they're mainly fantasy and such.
But for some overall books with a slight mystery to them are:
The Darkness That Comes Before: The Prince Of Nothing, Book One.
Gardens of the Moon: Volume One of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. (1
Dead House Gates: A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. (2
Watchmen (Comic.)
Pendragon (All of them.)
That's all I got for now.

And reading is good. (Nikomikiri)

Dan Brown and Tamora Pierce.
I haven't touched them after my library ran out of their books but I think Tamora Pierce has a new book out.
Heard of...:
Iris Johansen Diana Pharoah Francis Christopher Golden Jonathen Kellerman Jan Burke Kristen Britain
Most of them are mystery writers.

I've heard of a few of those.
And yes, Tamora Pierce has a new book out in the Tortall setting. It takes place decades before even Alanna's stories, and it's about Beka Cooper(which by a strange coincidence is the name of the book :p)the ancestor of George Cooper a.k.a. Alanna's husband. 3nodding
I got it for my birthday, and read it already XD

I've read a fair bit of Christopher Golden's work. He writes good stories, just has a tendancy to ******** up the endings. ._.
Lately I've been reading a lot of gay fiction. Mark Richard Zubro is my new favourite author. =D I love his Scott and Tom mysteries. Though his other series is good as well. Haven't read it in a while. I recently picked uup a book by Catherine V. Forrest. Also quite good, when I get less lazy I'm gonna look up more of her stuff.
I absolutely ADORE Janet Evanovich. Her Stephanie Plum novels are to die for! My stomach hurts just thinking about them. I still have to read the most recent book though. Nya. Stupid library doesn't seem to wan to get it in >.<
Not mystery-wise I LOVE Arthurian legends or anything tying to mystery or set in the ancient world. I also used to be huge into Caroline B. Cooney. I've dabbled a bit in Christopher Pike and Anne Rice as well. Rice is good, but seems to go on about nothing for ages at times... I got lost somewhere in the middle of The Tale of the Body Thief.

Read a bit of Caroline B. Cooney too but Lois Duncan was my favorite during that time.
I touched on Pike and Rice a little but I didn't really get pulled into their books.
