Before, Death Note had just a little cult like following. Then it came over seas and got popularity. Then the anime came out. And now it's really, really popular. Which is good because the series is really good.
Nevertheless, I don't think it belongs in 'Underdiscussed anime'.

There should be a Card captor Sakura and Tsubasa Chronicle undiscussed forum as well because CCS and TRC is the most popular here in the Philippines and in America and in Japan as well. I hope there is a RPG in CCS or in TRC... ^o^ I wish there are people who likes CCS and TRC too!

I' dhave to suggest Haibane Renmei. i've not heard many people talk about, i don't get out much, so I'm not sure about it, but it is an awesome anime.

Nurse Witch Komugi-Chan: The most omgwtf anime in existance. Not even kidding. xD
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: This one's pretty serious and is action-y but still really awesome.
R.O.D. The TV: I can't even think of something to describe it. It's normal but not normal at the same time? DETECTIVES! ;D

 the walker system Maybe CLANNAD? It's still airing in Japan this seasont though. *heh*
Also been watching Nanatsuro Drops (I think I spelt that right), and Shugo Chara!... I don't think Shugo Chara! is too underdiscussed, it IS a Peach-Pit series after all, and Rozen Maiden's pretty well known. Ohyeah, just started watching Prism Ark today.
... Most of the stuff I'm watching is still airing in Japan this season, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that it's underdiscussed *sigh* --they just find you--

I was wondering, are Haibane Renmei and Serial Experiments Lain, and Wolf's Rain underdiscussed anime? Because I really like them, but I don't hear alot of people talk about them.
