I became a vegitarian because I pictured how animals were killed just for food. Why did you become one?

I was always against animal testing (especially for cosmetic reasons, but all animal testing), so I had a "StopAnimalTests.com" sticker on my computer. One day I was just randomly sitting at my computer staring at it, and I thought "Wow, I'm a hypocrite." Here I care about animal tested animals, but not about the ones I eat every day. So it was a choice between either being for animal testing or not eating meat, and I chose the latter.

I became a vegetarian when I was 10 years old. Not much depth there. It just bothered me that my meat used to live, walk around and do things living creatures do. I found it unappealing and in a sense, disrespectful to the poor dead animal.
Then I grew up and discovered a few better "excuses".

I enjoyed meat but it's not necessary for my body and I [obviously] can live without it. I felt like it's selfish and screwed up for me to support animal cruelty simply because "I like meat".

I became a vegetarian because I realized how badly animals must be treated in the meat industry, and how we seem to be exploiting them just because we can. I'd still like to become a vegan, but it's sort of hard when I don't cook my own meals.

Before I did, I was only eating organic meats, so I thought "Why not just not kill them, rather than give them a better life, then kill them?"
Also, one day I was eating some bacon and stopped after for some reason of It tasting like blood, thought "Oh god! It taste like murder!"
I also don't agree with animals being killed when there are other alternatives to health and nutrition, even tasty ones.
I generally don't eat eggs, because after the chickens stop producing eggs, they are slaughtered.
I disagree with killing animals In general, but I especially disagree with slaughter houses and factory farms.
I've been to a slaughterhouse. I won't get into detail, but It's horrible and I imagine a factory farm Is worse.
As for products, I avoid anything tested on animals.

I don't really know. When I was about 11 or 12, I kind of realised,"dude I'm eating a cow." and slowly stopped.. I'd eat like three bites of steak and give the rest to my dog XD And then Mad Cow came around and I guess it scared me so bad I stopped. Then I became vegan after reading Milksucks.com "Horror stories".

I became a vegetarian when I found out how most animals used for food lived in horrible conditions on factory farms.
I wanted to just completely drop all animal products from my diet after discovering that information, but it took a lot of argueing with my parents, and eventually a trip to a nutrionist, to convince thwm that I could be a vegan AND be healthy... though now whenever I get sick my mother is convinced that it's because I'm a vegan. Yeah, I defineately got swimmers ear from eating too much tofu! rofl

I became a veggie-head first out of spite "I can be a much better vegetarian then you Alicia"(and I was). Then I did it out of anger saying that if I couldn't eat a human then I won't eat anything meat related. this idea started after I had had a conversation with a vegan who was trying to convert me with propaganda cruelty facts "would you eat your dog?" which I came back by saying something around the lines of yes, yes I would in fact I’d eat a baby or humans in general if it were legal (and I think I still would)! But then I talk to the same guy again and he reminded me of this philosophy of mine and so I paraded it around as my motto which I still sometimes use on people who try to convince me to eat meat it goes like this ”give me a baby to eat and I’ll eat your meat” hmmm actually now reading it that sounds kind of wrong sweatdrop . And then I came to the conclusion that eating meat is just a disgusting habit. I wouldn’t eat meat even if I could eat my neighbor
