I myself recently bought a Sansa e260, and while it's not the biggest name in the market, I'd say it works perfectly for me. It's thin, slick, and easy to use.

What's even better is that it's compatible with SanDisk brand memory chips, so I can add even more to the 4GB capacity, or save photos from my cell phone (which has one of those memory chips) and open them on the player.

I was thinking of getting one of the Creative Zen players, since one of my friends recommended it, but my mom had purchased one, and it not only froze up, but we can't remove the software for it from her computer.

iPods... I opted against going with one because of what I heard about the limited file compatability, and of course the price. I also believe the whole iPod craze is a silly fad, tied in with the influence of MySpace. The ridiculous ad campaigns didn't do much for me either.

So yeah, opinions, experiences, tips maybe?

Even though this isn't about cheese, I will still post a reply. I for one have a video ipod. Not because of the "fad" or anything (i don't have myspace btw), just because it is useful to me. You can store photos directly from a camera if you have one by using certain equipment and such. It is really easy to upload and download music using iTunes and there is always a free song and some free tv shows. You can also now download movies and games (along with the music videos, songs, and audiobooks). I think it is worth the cost----well kind of. There are many different kinds of ipods so it all depends on what exactly you are looking for.

I own an ipod-nano, not because of the "fad." I like the way it looks and I like the way you work through the menu. The headphones also work very nicely. It is costly and they have limited amounts of music that you can put on it but I want something that I can work with and that looks good to my eyes.

I own an iPod nano. It was sortof a gift. That I ended up paying for anyway. It's a story I'd rather not explain. It deals with a broken heart and such.

Wait a minute! Why did BtZ tell you I was dead? I'm just ... lofty. Not dead, not UNdead. Just not really on as much as he is...cuz he's the star now. I've somehow attained MULE status, even though I've been a part of Gaia since 2004. Well, anyway -- YEH I OWN AN IPOD AND I LOVE IT.

What does this have to do with cheese?
I have two! One is a MoVox 4GB, which isn't very good quality.
It's very small and portable though, has a speaker, and you can record your voice in it.
The second is so amazingly awesome and I listen to it daily.
It's an 8GB Sony Walkman, which is fairly popular where I live.
It's one of the newest versions, and I have 745 songs, 21 pics and 8 videos with 245 MB remaining! It holds a lot of memory which is really good in my case, but I'll need to delete some unwanted movies soon. My walkman doesn't have a mic or speaker, but it has very good quality sound and pictures, not to mention the videos which are so amazing for a 1.5x2in screen.

Yeah, I love my technology.
