Has anyone read the two books? It's really well written. It's by Brian Keen. The story line of the two books goes as follows: this thriller about a man who embarks on a cross-country trip to save his son after a plague turns nearly all of America's population into zombies.
There's a twist though, instead of like in usual zombie books/movies where the zombies are idiots, these guys are smart. When the book the rising starts it begins with humans and animals becoming the undead, but that's only the first stage, then comes the reptiles and plants and so on. It's a really good book.

Someone recommended them to me when we were talking about WWZ one day at work, I haven't seen them around yet, but I did pick up Monster Nation by David Wellington. I'll look extra hard now as they sound really good. biggrin

Sounds like a good series, I'll have to check it out. I'm a little hesitant because of the zombie's learning/animals turning bits. It doesn't come off too cheesy does it?
In those areas I tend to stick by the Max Brooks guideline for zombies. But if it's well done, I wouldn't mind picking up a copy.

Personally, I'm a fan of the Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, the fictional book about the universe in which the Zombie Survival Guide is a real guide.
