Sorry if this has been done before. sweatdrop I've noticed this guild's pretty slow-moving, and since I didn't see anything like it on the first page, I assumed it was safe.

So, what made you like this game? Or, if you feel it's painfully obvious, what made you want to buy it? How did you hear about it? What was the first Lunar game you ever played?

I'm just a huge sucker for RPGs. My brother and I went into our local Game Crazy when I was 11, and an employee there was handing out "The Making Of" disc sets for free, along with music soundtracks from the game. We grabbed a couple ("I want one! No, MINE! Gimme it!" xd ), went home, and proceded to watch on our PS. Needless to say, we were entranced, and proceded to watch The Making Of Lunar every day until we got L:SSC, which wasn't very long but felt like forever.
I normally absolutely hate love stories with a fiery passion, but I really liked this. It was funny and fun and charming, and led me to start drawing and have a severe admiration for Mr. Kabooka.

Et vous? 3nodding

At the time, the RPG was different than what was going on at the time with Final Fantasy pretty much dominating the market like it is right now. Sure, in retrospect, it was as cliche as the last RPG, but hell, it was different to me in that the characters actually had some flesh and bones to their personalities, espeically in Eternal Blue.

So that's what really drew me into the series, the fact that each character has their own personality that breaks away from their stereotypical RPG role.

As to what drew me into the series, it started when I saw a used copy of SSSC in a pawn shop. I saw this cool lookin' dude in armor (Alex) on the box and thought, Hmm, this game seems promising! So, I had my mom grab it for me. After all, it was only $8. When I got home that day, I started playing it and thought, Wow! This plays a bit like a Final Fantasy! Not to mention, that main chick is beautiful! What can I say? Luna had my heart (as far as game girls go) when I saw how beautiful she and her voice was (I love girls that can sing). As the storyline progressed, each twist in it got me more and more interested! The anime cutscenes had me sold! Now, I totally want to nab Eternal Blue Complete to see if its story is anywhere near as captivating. Stories do it to me every time, especially when it's a strong love story!

ZeekSlider: Have you ever played Legend of Legaia? That's pretty different, too.

Dragonmaster_Draco: EIGHT DOLLARS?! Holy. Crap. We got ours new for around $50.

Pawn Shops are wonderful places, Ishrie. It's like the age-old addage says: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Believe it or not, I got the entire Lunar:SSSC package for that measly $8. I'm talking game, Making Of disc, hard-bound instruction booklet, and soundtrack (love the soundtrack, especially Tracks 18 and 23). Pawn shops can have many little treasures within them. I also ended up getting Final Fantasy VII and VIII from the same place for $8 each. Believe me when I say that pawn shops are the way to go when you're looking for some decent games for cheap.

The box was what drew me to the gaming world. Before Lunar I barely played videogames. But there it was... calling me. I got it and it's been my favorite game series ever.

Honestly I have yet to play a video game that makes me laugh as hard as Lunar SSSC. Eternal blue is not as funny though (although lemina is fun XD)

I have a brother that is five years older than me. When I was a kid, he played the Sega CD version of Lunar and I would always watch him play it. I absolutely loved it.

So, many years later, I heard that they were releasing it on the PS2. I was so excited. Lunar was, at the time, the only reason I bought a PS2 system. lol. I had to buy it since I loved it so much when I was a kid. And the fact that I was older when the PS2 version came out made it all the better for me.

And thanks to Lunar I have a unbreakable love for RPG videogames. ^^

A couple years ago my brother got a copy of Lunar SSSC. I watched him play it and soon ended up getting my own copy. I think it was a few months after that when he got EBC and I ended up playing it. =D

My brother is on this site too and I bet he'd like to join the guild. 3nodding

I'll send him a message about it. I think he logs on every few days, so you'll probably get a request to join from him soon. ^^

I forget how he found out about Lunar, but when he joins I'm sure he'll post it here. xD

I first saw Lunar SSSC on an old episode of X-Play on G4. Ironically they were doing a special on the worst video game songs ever, and somehow Lunar got included. X-Play had given bad reviews to some games I had already played and liked, so I figured they were wrong about Lunar. I spent a good chunk of my free time for the next several weeks trying to track down a copy. I finally got one...and loved every minute I spent playing it. So when I found out about Eternal Blue of course I had to get a copy of it to.

Lets see....well, my older cousin had bought Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for the Playstation when we were kinda little and wanted to play it with me. That was sorta my family's thing, buying video games and gathering around to play it and help each other with it and stuff. When I first came over, she had gotten kinda far, to the part wear she had to fight that thing on the boat. That's when I saw the cutscene with Luna on the boat to Meribia singing "Wind's Nocturne" and I was awestruck. It was such a beautiful song and very little games I played back then had anime-like cutscenes like that. So we got into the game but couldn't get any further than when that dude stole the Dragon Diamond from us crying .

After a while, I saw the disk again and was like, "This was an awesome game, I wanna get to the end". So she let me borrow it and I played through. The storyline was amazing compared to the games I had played before (I had yet to play any Final Fantasy game) and it immediately drew me in. It was the first time I was ever eager to get to the end of a game just to see the rest of the story. Not to mention, the character's were so well-developed and I wanted to know more about the history and personality of each and every one of them and the music was beautiful. It was the first game that actual made me think hard about it.

And that's my story of coming to lurve the Lunar series to death. Though I've always had a passion for writing before the game, it wasn't until I played Lunar that my imagination was really unleashed for me to start really writing.

When Lunar: DS came out, I was so happy. I told my boyfriend (now ex-boyfriend) about it and he was a dumbass and didn't understand. But he bought it anyway because he wanted to see what my fussing was all about. I played it...and I've never been so disappointed about a game before in my life........................I almost cried when I finished that game........

Anywho....yeah ^_^

Final Fantasy VI (3 at the time for SNES) was the first RPG I ever played, then I rented Lunar: The Silver Star for the Sega CD and instantly loved it. One of my realiest memories was going through Myght's Tower and eating the Oreo Pie from KFC, which they dont sell anymore... emo
Anyways, the opening theme attracted me a lot, cause all FFVI had was the Opera scene, and they weren't using real voices. John Truitt's voice also has something to do with it, in addition toNoriyuki Iwadare's music.
