Sometime around the middle of the night, Layilme started awake from some half-remembered dream ... head raising to look about her. Nothing here ... just a dream. With a slight sigh, she laid her head back on her paws, but sleep eluded her.
Finally, she got up, and just ... started walking. If she got tired again, she could always go back to sleep. But she was awake now, so no point in laying around staring at nothing.
There was the faint scent of rain on the air - possibly an incoming storm ... and she made a mental note to keep an eye out on the sky, and also watch for some sort of shelter in case the storm broke.
But for now ... the moon was still out, though small clouds were skimming over it. At random, she turned her paws in the direction of that moon as she walked.

Vian could be called many things. He had always been the most diverse of his family, the blanced one. But that didn't mean he was perfect. Making mistakes was the bitter and sweetness of life. He wasn't about to be left out on such things, was he? Well, whether or not this was true he decided to walk during the night, the heavy air of a coming storm soothing in its own way. Perhaps it was foolish, especially since he had traveled most of the day. But there were some things he couldn't resist. And like his youngest sibling, his only sister, he did ever so like the rain.
He loped along at an easy pace, letting the moonlight flood onto his blue and black fur. He breated in the chilly night air with a smile, skimming his orange gaze over the landscape. He paused after a moment, for a figure became clear in the distance. Due to the fact that the moon was at his back it made it easy for him to see them, for the light was cast in their direction. Though it was hard to tell at a distance it appeared to be a lioness. He was a little surprised. He hadn't expected anyone else to be about, at least not so casually, "Excuse me, Miss?"

Having been a bit lost in her own thoughts, Layil tensed slightly as she looked up, hearing that voice. A bit wary ... possibly because of her dream, or maybe just the feel of the storm-charged air ... she stopped where she was, eyeing the male. She did call back, though, keeping her own tone polite in turn. "Yes ... ?"

Vian couldn't help but smile, a rather charming expression on the male's face. "Ahhh, so I'm not seeing things," he murmured, his voice smooth but not practiced like an art. Just honest. He took a few steps closer, though he was careful not to invade her space. She seemed a little tense. Like his sister he was pretty good at reading such things. He was just better at acting upon them then she. "I apollogize. I didn't mean to interupt anything if I did," He said with a small, sincere nod of his head.

Seeing things? Hm ... well. Guess her fur did sort of match the sky right now ... despite the fact that the stars were slowly being swallowed up by incoming clouds. "Nah ... you didn't, really," she replied, smiling slightly and relaxing again. "Just startled me a bit."

"Ah...well I apollogize for that then," Vian corrected with a smile. Though his words were polite, she seemed completely at ease. He wasn't a practiced socializer or anything, but he did get on with others fairly well. So his comfort with a stranger wasn't really so odd, "Though I admit I was a little startled myself-I wasn't expecting to meet anyone tonight." He tilted his head, glancing sideways at the moon and the stars glittering overhead. He could also see the shadows of clouds too. Perhaps that coming storm was why he didn't believe anyone else would be about.

"I already said it's all right," she said, smile growing a bit. It was kind of funny how a lot of others just felt they had to apologize for things like that. But she wasn't going to argue with it.
"To be honest I woke up and just randomly started walking," she said after a moment, glancing up as well.

"Mm...perhaps the storm made you restless?" Vian suggested in a warm, casual fashion. It probably would be a good idea to find shelter soon. But he had always liked walking at night. It was habit more then anything, since in his homeland being out during the day was hard, especially on one with his coat. He could stand the desert heat, but as one born there he had known it was best to travel at night. Besides...the night sky was very enchanting. The lioness's coat mimiced that sky, which made him smile. It was a beautiful sight.

She let her eyes linger on the sky for a few moments before answering. "Maybe. In any case, I'm awake now ..."
Looking back down, she tilted her head slightly one side, watching him. "So what are you doing around here ... and also awake at this time of night?"

Vian chuckled lightly, offering a warm smile, "Ah...I'm afraid it is an old habit of mine. Can't seem to shake it. Though I admit, I find the open night sky glittering withs stars far more beautiful then the blue suncast sky. He was no poet, nor did he try to be. He was simply honest and somehow he couldn't help but appreciate the magic of nightfall.

Layilme smiled at that, and nodded. "Oh yea, I agree with you there." She looked up, her entire manner easing up just a bit at seeing those stars. "I like the night better than the day ... generally. There's only one sun, but there're millions of stars out there ..."

Vian nodded his head, looking thoughtful, "Yes...and it truely makes you realize how big the world is and how little you are, mm? Or...I've always thought so. It's an amazing feeling." He smiled, never really thinking about how odd it might sound. His confidence was unwavering, so he had no trouble speaking his mind, at least when it didn't offend or hurt anyone.

Layil looked back down again, and shook her head slightly. "It's not really how ... little we are. It's that ... we're all a part of it." She paused, thinking. "A part of the world, I mean ... the universe. It's all connected."

Vian nodded his head, "You're right..." He tilted his head a little, looking thoughtful. "Perhaps that is why I often feel so small. The whole is so big and we are only small parts of it," he mused. Despite how it almost sounded as if he admited a fear, he didn't look too worried. It was as if conversations like this were as common as the weather. Maybe they were.

It was at that point that those incoming clouds completely blocked the light from above and the first few drops of rain began to fall. Layil wrinkled her nose as one fell directly on it and commented, "Storm's coming." The way she said it was almost idle, and a bit teasing. As if they didn't know that already ...
