Music is in all of our lives. It holds a special kind of magic. It's one that I have become pretty strong at. I am wondering if there is any one else out there who does this practice. If not is there an interest enough for me to teach a WSP class on it?

Im not completely sure what you mean. For me, music brings out certain emotions. I see how music could be used with magic to help conjure up energy. I know there is one person in this guild who uses music to build up her energy before a ritual.

It is the source of the energy in many of my rituals. Drumming circles that heal run on this same principle...

I've observed that you can tell alot about a person by looking at the playlist of their MP3 Player. What mood they are in, are they mellow, or hyper... angry or sad, what they are up to, what they like, what they dislike, what kind of social 'click' that they would perfer to be in and so much more.
This could be an interesting topic.

Thats part of what I'm talking about.... I'm also talking about the Magical useages for Music. In rituals, spellcraft, and the like.

Music amplifies whatever magic is done at the time. My familiars loved my concerts because we could do more during them. They also love my room, because the radio is constantly going. *shrug* My familiars probably use my music more for magic than I do, but meh.

As I'm still in the research phase, I don't do a whole lot of magic, but I do sing on occasion, usually to praise the beauty of the day. Magical in a way, but not exactly a full ritual or anything like that. :3nods:

I love music in all things. Especially in my rituals. It can just set the right mood, and it certainly amplifies my intentions. I'm kinda spacey a lot of the time (I'm a ditz), and music just immediately catches my attention and holds it. It's my connection to the present. I would certainly be interested in hearing any new ideas you have on incorporationg this further.

I use music in rituals.. I sing all of my spells in Latin, instead of reciting them.
The first time I showed my boyfriend a ritual (he's not pagan, still not sure what he is) for Yule, and I was singing, he said afterwards that he'd never heard me sing like that and it sent chills up and down his spine. He told me he'd never reacted that way before. It helps me focus when I'm singing it too.

Lol music is magic, i mean i have been a student of music for a long time like my whole life basically. I beleive music has a lot of properties it is very pllyable. I can be used to heal, to entrance, to mediate the list goes on. I am more into the healing aspects of music. There have actually been studies that shows that those who study music have less chance of devolping althismer's. For some odd reason i have this lil theory that music can also help those with down syndrom. Like i have seen people with it and most of them have a natural forte with music. This helps alot because it helps stimulate the brian. Then agian this is all theory.

I know there is one person in this guild who uses music to build up her energy before a ritual. well that makes two then, because I do more energy work than actual ritual work, and I try to incorporate my energy into everything I do. music is my favourite source of energy, especially high emotion music, lol thats probably why I have so many techno and rock songs on my playlist ^^; but its actually how I first trained with energy.

I don't use music in rituals because I don't use rituals. But music does act as a good foci for energy channeling feats.
Also, when I loose touch with my energy or just run dry, music can recharge me if it is of a nature similar to my current mood.
Music is also good at helping focus the mind for a fight. In a fight, the appropriate music can allow you to tap your inner beast. Combine the primal physical power of the monster with your higher thought power and you'll see just how deadly magic users can be, even in mundane fights.
