Ooops my bad wink Tsu it is a english thing i think, it is a spin off from the doctor who serie's. In the doctor who series there is a mention of torchwood throughout it and they decided they would make a whole new series which is linked to doctor who with jack who also is from the doctor who series. It is bloody amazing! Although i love doctor who more i have both the series. Damn im gonna have to make a whole new thread now, that's two more to do ^_^

Torchwood's first ever mention in Dr Who as i recall was the Scotland episode. That was the 2ed Episode of the 2ed New seriese. And if the thought of Torchwood doesn't blow you away in that episode. the end of the seriese is on such a huge scale it's unbelieveable.

Hmm... I may have to check it out, I wonder if it's still on BBC. Do you have to have watched Dr. Who to understand Torchwood?

[Tsukasa567] Hmm... I may have to check it out, I wonder if it's still on BBC. Do you have to have watched Dr. Who to understand Torchwood? You don't have to have Watched Dr who but it might possably help. As for the first reference to Torchwood yes the Christmas episode was the first mention but the Christmas episide wasn't really part of the series. Not to mention that in terms of History the Scotland episode was the first historical mention of Torchwood. as well as the first mention in the series.

Torchwood is good, not as good as Dr Who but still good none the less, I think that torchwood is aimed alot more at the adult audience of the Dr Who series, this is due to the fact it has alot more violence and sexual themes but not enough to take away the entertainment of the whole show, over all torchwood is really good, a great spin off

I know this because my brother is one. But for the general viewer it is a very good program. Alough it's probebly has too much human trait to be liked by Dr who fans. given that Dr who is more about adventures with science than anything human life related.

I will agree with you on that one, but alot of people think that torchwood is a very good programme, in a survey the bbc did it completly owned Robin Hood which is on primetime saturday on bbc 1 where as torchwood is at 9pm on a sunday on bbc 3

Evul Buddha Productions I will agree with you on that one, but alot of people think that torchwood is a very good programme, in a survey the bbc did it completly owned Robin Hood which is on primetime saturday on bbc 1 where as torchwood is at 9pm on a sunday on bbc 3 You can't compare it with Robin Hood. And part of the reason it's so popular this first season is that it's a spin off of Dr Who and everyone's expecting somthing good. It's not a bad program certainly. But it's far darker than a lot of new generation Dr Who fans should be watching. Wait till the second season before you start getting judgemental. We're only just coming upto the climax of the first season still. If it flops next season. then it won't be that good. but if your predictions baised on survey are right. Then it won't flop. but i have my doughts because previous attempts to make spin offs have all failed.
