I just picked it up and started reading last night. It's....pretty crazy so far.

At 3:03 PM, Eastern Standard time, the afternoon of October 1, anyone who's on a cell phone at that exact moment, all around the world immediatly goes bat-s**t-crazy-insane.

Alot of reviews and whatnot describe this as a new take on the zombie genre, and I can see why, though it's quite unorthodox. Everyone becomes animalistic, rambling, homicidal, suicidal crazy-asses, biting, bludgeoning, and beating everyone around them, or, in the case of those driving something, kamikaze psychos.

The main character is a guy named Clay, a graphic artist who doesn't own a cell phone. Obviously, not the most well-prepared guy for the apocalypse....

I've only just started, so I can't really say much yet, but the paperback is out now, so you can pick this up for a bit cheaper now. Go check it out, yo.

Read it... well, I listened to it on CD, actually. My synopsis(sans spoilers):

It was definitely written by Stephen King. Unfortunately, it seemed that he got tired of writing it about 3/4 of the way through and did what he had to make it... "end."

The feelings left after finishing the thing (aside from mild dissapointment) was that it boiled down to being a general suspense novel with Romero apocolyptic undertones. Finish the book and watch Land of the dead. You'll know what I mean.

Admittedly, I've found Mr Kings latest endeavours to be...less inspired than his earlier works, but his characers...his characters are as solid as they have ever been. You can end up reading the crappiest stuff he's put out just to spend more time with the awesome characters he creates.

Ok now I'm rambling.

Yeah, I often find myself digging characters more than story when I read these things, 'specially when it comes to Koontz's stuff.......Koontz and King are friggin' crackheads......

Ya know, I saw this book at the store today, and I thought it was the novelization of that movie with Jennifer Lopez in it sweatdrop I'll have to check it out though, seeing as how it's Steven King x]

My Aunt got me the book for my birthday, I haven't yet got a chance to read it though. I read the synopsis for it, and it actually sounded interesting. I've never actually read a Stephen King book before.

I read the book, and I thought it was awsome! I really liked all the people in the book. I was sad when some of them died.
