Quote: 'The Walking Dead is a monthly black and white comic, published by Image Comics beginning in 2003. The comic was created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore and chronicles the travails of a group of people trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies. The Walking Dead is centered around a small-town police officer in Kentucky named Rick Grimes, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, Rick and the others become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse. Fighting growing despair—and occasionally each other—the group searches for a secure location which they can finally call home. Ugh. I still miss this one. I started collecting it from the beginning, and quit the comic book thing altogether in the thick of the "zombie prison" arc. I really miss this book.
The art was great. The Story was captivating, and the zombies...my god, the Zombies!
If it's still running, buy it. I just may see if I can find some old Trade paperbacks to get myself caught up.
God knows they've ruined Spider-man for me... never going back to that one.

Yeah, the series is still ongoing, surprisingly enough, what with the high mortality rate sweatdrop

I am the proud owner of Book One and Book Two, this series gets better the longer it goes on. I agree with you Kenshiro, there is a very high mortality rate in this comic, especially when they get to the prison.

I really hope they don't stay at the f'n prison for the rest of the series...so far, the whole prison arc has had alot of great "OMG WE'RE ALL GOING CRAZY!!!" moments, but eventually, they gotta move the ******** on and find somewhere else to go cuz I think the book was better when they were still doing that.

I am sure something will happen that will make them leave the prison. I mean at the rate people are dying they won't have any left so they'll have to go find some somewhere.

I just got done reading book three and man am I exhausted. These books are so well done and I get so into them that I feel that I am actually there with them, yeah I know I am weird but isn't that a sign of a good story?

I have finished the hardcover book 3 and then a friend of mine got me the next chapter in the cardboard-ish cover. This series keeps surprising me with their cliffhangers.
