I keep reading people's posts with... "Ah, radiohead? That emo band?" They should burn. Nownow, Radiohead goes beyond. How can they even put EMO and Radiohead on one same sentence?
It's such a nonsense. They could have their reasons... but... Seriously now. Emo is a whole different music 'genre' aint it? And as some say... its... haha... A 'movement' a 'feeling' ... 'emotive'. I find nothing emotive on wearing excesive make up and follow hairstyle, clothe style and 'way of being' and whatever liberal s**t they do to show they are 'emotive' or (suchnonsense) 'depressed'.
If you are depressed. You are indeed depressed. And there's not really need to try to show it. Its just shown.

but seriously.. emo music is like powerchords and screaming.
Radiohead is like.. opposite emo... sure theres powerchords, and in climbing up the walls he screams a bit.. but not emo.
Maybe I can understand "emotional"
like how Weezer would be emo as in "emotional"
You know, love songs that make you happy...
but the majority of Radiohead is not emotional or anything.
Emo? They must be thinking of another band... wow.

Radiohead =/= Emo
Sure Radiohead have emotional lyrics, but then again, doesn't every band have emotional lyrics somewhere. Does that make them Emo?
Radiohead were never Emo and probably never will be. So don't listen to those people who don't know anything.

no they have emotional lyrics but all good bands should have emotional meaning. They are not whiny emotional (apart from in the early days maybe in which case they were a bit emo but thats was probably more down to thoms inexperience with writing song lyrics) but anyway when people say emo nowadays they dont mean emotional rock they mean people that wear womens jeans and have silly hair that covers one eye and talk about killing themselves and stuff cause thats the new trend which is a load of crap and radiohead are nothing like that

I know people irl who've called Joy division emo and were being serious :/
Though i guess its some catch-all term for anything that isn't all birthdays and rainbows. Even though i don't really find Radiohead to be that depressing.

Does anyone even know what emo means anymore?
If emo was emotional, than every band would be emo, because I don't think there's any band that doesn't have some sort of emotion in their music.
But even by the more recently accepted idea of what emo is, Radiohead still doesn't come close to fitting that category.

emo is such a joke anymore. it has become the hodgepodge of all those "gothic" kids in high school who around the year 2004 all started turning bisexual cause it was cool. and now their excessively baggy pants with millions of pockets and straps are replaced with excessively tight pants. emo USED to be what "indie is today, and there are still a few of the old emos out there, the indifferent types who are intellectuals and listen to bands like radiohead for their sheer awesomeness. but now emo has become the latest follower fad just like the the white-boy rapper look, and the tomegachi pets, and tickle me elmos.
not to get what i was saying taken the wrong way...im not saying all bisexuals are crap, just the ones who do it cause its the latest trend and think that just cause they lightly kiss someone of the same sex in front of people for attention that they are bi.
