Oh my gosh it's....Hijiki no nimono Serves 2 (For an intimate evening. Kakashi and I enjoy this very much. Hee. Giggles.)
question What Do I Need? question * 30 grams of dried hijiki (it's seaweed) * 1 piece abura-age (fried bean curd) * 1 small carrot * 150ml dashi (itsa root, yo) * 2 tbsp sugar * 1 tbsp sake (um, yeah, you'll need to be able to buy this legally. My roomie was 21, so it wasn't a big deal) * 2 tbsp soy sauce (shoyu!)
idea Check it out... idea 1. Rinse the hijiki until the water is clear, then soak in water for 30 minutes. Cut into bite size pieces 2. Put the fried bean curd in a sieve (a drainer) and pour boiling water over it, to remove excess oil. Cut in half lengthways and then into strips. 3. Cut the carrot into fine strips. 4. Place the hijiki, fried bean curd and carrot in a pan, then add the dashi, sugar and sake, and bring it to the boil. 5. Cut out a circle of cooking foil (a little smaller than the diameter of the pan) and cover the hijiki with it. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. 6. Add the soy sauce, then simmer it again until the hijiki absorbs the broth.
arrow Then, you eat it over steamed rice (gohan!). 美味しい です ね!
