I saw the video for "Sonnenback Flavour" by Bushido yesterday. I was kinda confused because I thought he was saying "Autobahn Flavour". confused Glad that got cleared up.
And yeah, I cracked up when he said "G Unit Germany".

Well, I don't like this hiphop-thing anyway... but the Germans are so... wannabe...
Just look at this sido-guy... wearing such a crappy mask so noone could kick his *** when he wanders around in zivil... >.<
Well Fanta4 is quite okay... Or Fettes Brot... even if I don't like the music, it's kinda good... Don't know...
But Thomas D solo stuff is okay!

I absolutely adore German Hip Hop from the 90s!
There was no stupid Bushido rapping about getting tanned, no Sido who tought a skeleton mask would be cool on stage, no Aggro Berlin having absolutely no lyrical skills, no Fler who's soooo bad and all those Wannabe-Ghetto-Rappers trying to tell that there really would be Ghettos in Germany. *yawns*
Back in the day Hip Hop was fresh, the scene was so small, lyrics were fun, honest, they made you think and sometimes laugh and the artists didn't take theirselves too serious. Music and Videoclips used to be unique, original, they turned into classics even though they were out for only a month.
When record companies realized the huge commercial success they could have with supporting and promoting Hip-Hop bands the almost the whole scene lost its soul. When there is money in the game the good bands always lose.
Today's Hip Hop Fans don't even know that or feel it because in the golden 90s they were too young, shitting in their diapers or something.
Seeing what Hip Hop has turned into breaks my heart!
I recommend you to listen to some songs of the following groups:
Absolute Beginner, Dynamite Deluxe, Fünf Sterne Deluxe, Eins Zwo, Afrob, Freundeskreis, Curse, Ferris MC, Fettes Brot, Die Fantastischen Vier, Rödelheim Hardreim Projekt / RHP, Sabrina Setlur / Schwester S, Xavier Naidoo (in his 3p times), Tobi und Das Bo...
