summarized version of the below: Haruhi rules, WATCH IT. scream The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya follows the high school life of Haruhi Suzumiya and those who are caught up in her antics. While Haruhi is the central character to the plot, the story is told from the point of view of Kyon, one of Haruhi's classmates.
Kyon is a first year in high school who has just recently been able to leave his fantasies of espers, time travelers, and aliens behind him along with middle school. However, when he chooses to speak to one eccentric girl by the name of Haruhi Suzumiya on the first day of high school, he unwittingly sets off a chain of events which drags him into situations entirely different from the real world in which he had convinced himself he was a part of. This turns his world nearly upside down as he is drawn further into a world eerily like the fantasies he had just managed to outgrow, with Haruhi Suzumiya at the center of it all.
Searching for a group that interests her, Haruhi joins and quits every club in school finding only dissatisfaction. Kyon makes a snide remark about her actions and accidentally provides Haruhi the inspiration to create a club of her own. To help start the club, Haruhi forcefully drafts Kyon, who only stays in the club to protect (or try to protect) other helpless victims of Haruhi's "voluntary arrests". However, as the story progresses it is revealed that each of these supposedly "helpless victims" has a specific reason to be there. ~Wikipediadiscuss: episodes, Mikuru abuse, music, Itsuki is gay for Kyon, characters, pairings, Nishinomiya, smoked cheese, dance steps, etc.

I enjoy the series very so. My favorite character is Mikuru. She's so kawai, but people play with her chest way too much. They're not toys! I don't like how the episodes are mixed around though it confuses me so much. I have the full version of the ending theme and added some of my own dance steps to fill in the blank spots.

I have to disagree with you there. Mikuru abuse ftw. heart I think the way the episodes are mixed around is nice. 3nodding It fits.

yeah but I was watching the episode where you find out that Nagato's an alien or whatever (I'm still watching the series) then it turns to this baseball episode showing Itsuki who this is the first time I seen him, then it finishes the story in the episode after that.

A lot of really important character- and relationship-developing scenes happen around the end of the series. If it went chronologically, there would be some very interesting parts around the middle, and then it would just sort of fade into "normal" (as normal as you get with Haruhi) school life, with the last episode being one where Kyon goes to buy a heater.

I_like_tacos Boy I should really sit down and watch the series. Yes. All my friends loved it, but I wasn't interested until I saw the first episode. After that I watched the rest as quickly as I could. xd

It sucks that I have to wait a year for the second season to come out. I'm hoping Mikuru isn't abused as much and that we see more of her friend (the dopey laughing giggling one, can't think of name at this moment)

I can't recall seeing any definite news about it. (And I think the friend you mean is Fang-tan Tsuruya.) ` TenTen Will it ever come to North America? Yes. I believe it was licensed by Kadokawa Pictures USA, but dubbing and production will be handled by Bandai. There are currently polls up for viewers to vote on dub voices for characters.. so far, there's been Yuki and Mikuru.

The links are in the SOS-dan Guild to vote for the voice actors. I refuse to click it. xd I hate dubs. They're evil.
