Bones bones! Everywhere, there were BONES. Not that the dark cub was complaining about the entire thing. In fact, it was all Pyralis had ever known, and he had already given in to the normality of his own world.
In fact, he was crawling through all the dried out bones that marked the pride's territory, giggling. Lifting a peice of a skull that had once belonged to a creature much mightier then the cub himself, the dark chil placed it upon his own head, sporting it as one would a hat.
Then, crawling up to the top of one of the bone piles, he sat, attempting to look as noble as possible (failing horribly in the process), as if he, a little cub, were the king of all the bones that surrounded him.
Definately suited to his life in the graveyard.

Little Aten may have been a runt, quite smaller than his brothers and sisters, but he had an ego to match anything that came his way. If one of his family members were to call him small he would simply explain to them that in time he would be as big as their father, Chomo, and big enough to kick their butts!
The dark red little cub was weaving his way through the bones, a favorite pass time of any child growing up, and as he walked his legs became powdered with white dust. His walk had a swager to it that out matched his age, and his head was held high and proud, afterall he was of the Firekin blood, should he not be proud?

Doot.. dooot.. doooooot!
Pyr's internal sonar seemed to have picked up his brother quite quickly, causing him to drop down onto his stomach to watch Aten as he walked through the bones. Giggling, the cub watched, waiting...
Oooh... aaaaannnd...
THERE!
The dark cub seemed to have been waiting until -just- the right moment for the little red male to pass by him, before he lept off his little bone-perch to attempt and assault on his brother's tail.
To say the least, it went really badly; Pyralis caught one of his paws on a bone, causing a bit of a mini bone-slide with himself on the bottom of it.
"BAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Aten did not have the same sonar that his brother did and only noticed his brother as he started to fly through the air..
"Wait you're going to.." too late he watched as his brother got caught and the bones started to slide. Grumpily he attempted to jump out of the way, of course little cubs are clumsy and he ended up covered in the dust rustled up by the slide and little pieces of bones around him.
"Are you okay?" he giggled looking for Pyr.

Twitch, twitch. He had to work on his sneak attacks better.
One of Pyr's paws stuck lamely out of all the bones that had toppled on top of him, claws flexing and attempting to grab onto something, anything, that he could've used to get himself out of the bottom of the -lovely- pile.
Mrrgh.
A sort of muffled scream came from his location, sounding more like nothing, then anything coherent...
thus, that was the only given 'reply' to Aten's question.

The dull smell of old standing bones had filled his nostrils so he would have trouble sniffing out his brother, fortunatly Pyr had one paw out of the pile.
"You get yourself into trouble often?" he giggled again and scooted closer to the paw and pressed his own against it. The fear that Pyr may be in trouble did not set in, he assumed that everything would be fine and dandy, of course Pyr had Aten to save him! (Oh, brother, he's screwed!)
Waiting for his brother to clutch his paw he got into what one day would be a prowler's stance so that he had enough leverage to help his brother out.

All Pyr really got out of anything his brother did, was a paw. And with that paw, Pyr dug his claws into it and used it to pull himself out, not realizing the limb was attached to his brother until his dark little head poked it's way out.
Oops.
"....."
Lifting his paws an unlatching his claws from his sibling, Pyralis's ears flattened back in a sort of ashamed way.
"........ Oops?"

Letting out a low groan he lost his prowler's stance and his eyes filled with tears as his brother dug into his paw.
"Hey, hey ouch! Ouch!" The moment the darker male's claws retracted the dark red male pulled his paw away and he popped it into his mouth, "T..t..that was mine!" he held back sobs, strong boys don't cry!

Whining sadly, Pyralis pulled himself out of the bone-pile and saw down in front of his brother, purring apologetically. He hadn't -meant- to totally attack Aten's paw. It was just the only way he would've gotten out!
Sniffing at Aten's paw, the dark cub's brightly colored eyes looked up at his brother, before he licked the crimson male's paw, again sorry he'd hurt his sibling.
Because darnit! Pyralis was a lover, and he didn't like being the direct cause of someone's pain (though he was -very- good at being a cause of it anyways. Oops!)
"I didn't mean to......"
Whimper.

"S'okay," Aten whimpered and gasped as he pulled his paw inward looking at it curiously, he had never experienced true pain before, only knicks against his paws and things.
"Are you okay, you did not get hurt?" He looked up with his big tearfilled eyes hoping that Pyralis was alright and did not get hurt..he had to think of something to lighten the mood..anything..
"Have you seen anything to hunt today? I want to beat something up," his voice was painfilled but he held the maliciousness of a child that would one day be a killer.

Well if Aten -SAID- he was alright, Pyralis would take his word on it... for now. Sitting on top of the bones that had tried to crush his little body, he winced a bit as some of the vertebrae in his spine realigned themselves into their proper position with a painful 'crack', but, overall, it made him feel better.
Consering his brother's question for a moment, tapping a paw against his lower-jaw, Pyralis shook his head. "I don't think I have. Besides the Hyenas and the other lions."
The black cub's voice sounded much more pacifistic then that of his siblings, not exactly being one keen on 'beating something up' for no real reason. So while he'd been doing well to learn the ways of his mother's wisdom, the brute cruelty of the Firekin had yet to have taken its hold on the child.

Hyenas and lions, well that was just no fun!
Aten looked at his brother examiningly as he casually set his hurt paw down, readjusting his position atop the bones. He was unsure what to do next, he did not play much with his siblings, it was more along the lines of trying to slink away for him. Did Pyralis like to be alone? Or did he enjoy the company of his family? That was a big thought that crossed his mind.
A smile spread across his face as an idea struck him, "We could...pretend to hunt something big, and play imaginery..chasing it across the boneyard!"

Pyralis stared at his brother in shock. "What -kind- of big thing?" he inquired curiously, leaping down from his boney perch and into the dust of decay that was simply everywhere. It was good that he wasn't born with a disgust for the dirt here. He'dve been miserable. Not to mention made fun of.
Slunking through a nearby set of ribs, that was simply large enough for maybe three subs at most to hide in, Pyr poked his nose out through the inter-costal space, giggling. "Would it be big like giraffe, or an eleph'nt?"
Indeed, he did seem rather keen on the offer.
