Already lightly touched in another thread, I decided to make a big discussion of it 3nodding
What is the best way to raise your child? Have him/her choose their own path? If so, what do you teach them about each religion? Can you rely on a five-year-old to do research over religions on their own? Or do you believe children should live free of the pressure of religion until they're old enough to understand it? Children are often very impressionable, so which school do you send them to? A well-known, fancy, credible Catholic or Baptist private school, or a mix-and-match public school? What about homeschooling? If you choose that path, where will her/his influences from other religions come from?
Just some questions to think about ninja I spend way too much time thinking xd

I feel you should raise your child with a healthy knowlage of nature and how nature works, and when they are old enough, that can easly evolve into paganism, wiccan, budest, even christianity in it's many varietys. Eventuly the child will choose it's own path, even if you lean one way or anohter-this is a given, most of us don't come from Pagan/Wiccan backgrounds, and we've found our paths alright, and so will our children. If you are open and teach them whatever they wish to know about each religion then they will proabably ask questions and eventualy learn for themselves. A five-year-old isn't old enough to know how to find religious information, let alone do so themselves without guidence, so they will need to have help. You should teach them the basics of each religion, what they beleive and how they go about basic things, such as spells, or prayer or meditation. You can do this by having them speak to someone knowlagable in a religion that intrests them or by looking up the information with them to teach them yourself. As long as you are not forcing anything upon them, most children want to learn and know everything they can about everything under the sun. School is another matter, if you send them to a Private school then most likely they will be forced to know about that religion-which will have one of two outcomes. 1. They will hate it and rebel and not want to be that religion, or 2. They will agree with the teachings and follow that religion. Personally it's public schools for my son, he can learn about all his peer's religions there and maybe find what path is right for him eventualy.

*nods* I would do that if I could gypsy... but I can't keep it away 100%, my family is trying to brainwash him christian already, and he's a month old... therefor he can learn both and decide when he's old enough lol.

IO know this isn't really part of this disscussion, but what's a good way of telling your parents that you're following the path? It's one of those things that i can't seem to figure out. Sorry if this isn't a good place to ask this.
