Lilliana sighed as she woke in the garden, stretching with a small grunt before opening her bright seagreen eyes to the morning light. User Image In the distance she could hear the princess howling for her as she ran up and down the halls looking for her favorite slave.

"Lilliana! Did you fall asleep in the garden again?!?!?!" Her shrill voice sounded when she passed an arch window and saw Lilliana's tattered orange dress amidst the flowers. User Image

"I'm very sorry Mistress!" She responded while scrambling to her feet before she ran up to the entrance to the castle, looking up at the servants staircase as if it would lead her to her death.

"I don't want your idiotic apologies! Just get up here and draw me a warm bath!" The princess screached as she stormed back into her room, the sound of her large wooden door slamming echoing through the quiet castle grounds.

"Yes ma'am..." Lilliana breathed then headed back down the stairs and into the kitchen to get a bucket for water.

Kain, watched from the window as his sister yelled at the servant that had fallen asleep in the garden again. He laughed lightly wondering if she would ever learn. slowly he buckled his belt that held the sword of their kingdom. Kain was the prince, and unlike his snobby sister, he was more easy going to the servants, it made it easier. He was considered a kind and gental man in his kingdom, but on the battle field a fierce warrior without mercy. Some feared Prince Kain, others seemed to flock towards him. Kain left the room and went to meet the sleepy serving girl.
"Sister still pushing you around i see?" Kain smiled and laugh a little. "It is just because your new to her... she does it with every new servant she gets."

Lilliana's eyes widened when she heard the prince's voice, spinning with the pale of water in her hands to greet him...spilling the now hot liquid all over herself. She gritted her teeth and forced a smile on her face as she knelt before him. As she stumbled around for words another servant came in and muttered something about her being useless and needing to be flogged until she had some sense.

Without another word she stood and went back out to the well, thanking the gods above that she had decided to build a firepit next to it just in case. "I don't think she'll ever stop pushing me around..." She muttered to herself once she had made it outside.

It had been a few months since she had been given to the princess as a present and ever since that day the princess had run her back and forth yelling at her as if she was less than a human. "I suppose that's just the life of a slave..." She sighed as the memories of her life before slavery surfaced.

Kain looked at her as she spilt the hot water all over herself. "Are you ok?" after seeing her return to her duty. Kain shrugged it off. "Do not worry, she will warm up to you she has to everyone else... I guess she can be a little intimidating... but if you can get over that then she is is not so bad." Kain turned and saw his sister...
"now now, before you get all pissy at her for spilling the water, and not having the bath ready. it was my fault. She is not to blame. and if i hear one word out of your mouth sister about how foolish she is... say goodbye to your servants."
The princess seemed like she was ready to pop at Kain then calmed. "Fine, can you leave so i can have my bath."
Kain nodded. "By all means." Kain turned to Lilliana. "remember what i said." Kain smile misceviously to her before turning and leaving. Kain knew when Lilliana was to be relieved for duty. and he waited.

The day seemed to take forever to pass but at long last Princess Nisha relieved her and told her to get out of her sight before she threw up. "Yes Ma'am." She said in her gentle voice then hurried off towards the garden before she had the chance to change her mind.

"I swear she gets more horrid every day..." Lilliana whispered to herself after she set her bare feet on the warm ground of the garden.

It was almost sunset and she knew that she wouldn't be missed if she just disappeared into the woods for a few hours, wanting to get away from her life if only for just a short time. The words of the prince echoed through her mind when she lost herself in the trees and she smiled to herself just slightly. "Maybe he's right..." She thought with a laugh at how just the thought of his kind words had made her smile.

Kain watched as Lilliana went into the woods and he followed her. he came up behind her. "So this is your little retreat. I dont blame you, and your secret is safe with me i wont tell a soul." Kain smiled then looked at his surroundings. "you are a very Brave woman, to be out here at this time of day... do you not worry about the monsters or anything that may be dewlling in the dark?"
Kain continued to look at his surroundings glancing over everything. He could understand why she would come here. it was quiet enclosed, and no noble would venture in the woods alone.
the birds were chirping away at one another in song, and the smallest bit of sunlight still crept through the trees. "how in the blazes did you find this place. Even i did not know this place exsisted." Kain turned to look at her.

Lilliana's cheeks turned a bright red when she heard Kain's voice from so close to her. "I-I..." She began then trailed off, refusing to look at him as she continued to go farther and farther into the woods until at long last they emerged near a waterfall.

It was a beautiful site to behold with it's white lillies growing all around the banks of the pond and the colors of the sunset reflecting in the falling water. She remained silent and took a seat on a nearby rock, gazing into the pond as if she were a million miles away.

After a few moments of silence she braved a glance up at the prince. "You really shouldn't be out here..." She breathed quietly then stood and walked over to where the earth dipped into the water.

Kain looked at the waterfall. "never in my wildest dreams would i have known, how beautiful." Kain walked closer and stuck a finger into the pond. the water was perfect. He took off his shirt, and his sword belt. "Care to join me for a swim."
Kain looked at her then knelt down beside her. "This is my kingdom Lilliana, this is still on Royal grounds. if anything you should not be out here... but i think we can keep this a little secret between us." Kain jumped into the water and began to swim about. "well coming in or will i have to throw you in?" Kain laughed a little, then dived under the water. something about the way the sun hit the waterfall made this place seem magical... almost from a fairytale. Resurfacing Kain noticed she still had not jumped in. "well?"

"..." Lilliana stood staring at Kain, her mouth opened just slightly in shock. "...I..." She started then lost all words as she turned away from the water in an attempt to take her eyes off of him. She could feel the warmth on her cheeks and she knew that if he saw how red she was he would figure out that she liked him.

"I...should..." She began then sighed when she found that she couldn't form any words.

This is going to be bad...
She thought to herself as she turned back around to look at him.

"ELIZABETH!" she heard her name yelled. She was the second favorite when it came to the princess. The woman didn't torment her like she did Lilliana, but she still made her life hell.

"Yes m'lady, I'm coming." she said as she opened the door to the princess' room. "Sorry it took me so long m'lady." she said as she stood there, her head bowed, her long raven hair in her face as she waited for her orders.

"Elizabeth, go find me Lilliana. I have use of her." she said with a somewhat evil look in her eyes. "GO!" she yelled.

Elizabeth could only nodd, but before leaving the room, she looked up at the princess, "M'lady, I could do what it is, what you want lilliana to do. I know I could." she said trying to keep the heat off of Lil, but the princess glared daggers.

"I said GO FIND LILLIANA!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

Elizabeth nodded and quickly scampered out of the room, shutting the door a little harder than intended. "Sorry Lil" she said, her little nickname for the servant. She moved out into the gardens, knowing that Lilliana liked it out there. Once outside though, she didn't see her anywhere. "LILLIANA!" she hollard, she wasn't quiet like most of the servants, she was actually quite brash. But she kept it in check around the princess, though she knew she could out yell the girl anyday.

"LILLIANA!" she called again, moving towards the edge of the garden where it met the woods. "LILLIANA! LILLIANA!" she called over and over again, trying to find her. "LILLIANA THE PRINCESS WANTS YOU!" she yelled into the darkening woods.

Kain had swam up to her and climbed out of the water no standing infront of her. He looked at her in the eyes and smiled. "you have nothing to worry about." Kain turned his back looked over his shoulder, and dived back in. the water held no shock when getting back in. It was like swimming in a warm bath. Kain came to the surface. then suddenly heard a voice calling for Lilliana. "You do not have to go. you have no obligation now, you are done for the day." Kain looked at her from the middle of the pond. "but i will not stop you if you wish to go." Kain and a blank face on. it was she decision, no his.

A sigh eminated from Lilliana when she heard Elizabeth calling for her. "Let Elizabeth handle it." She said resolutely then slipped off her dress so that she stood in her pale chemise. With a deep breath she dove in, disappearing quickly within the waters depths then reappearing close to the waterfall, the tattoo around her eye seeming to shimmer blue in the water.

Kain noticed the tattoo more the normal now. "where were you before you got to this kingdom Lilliana?" Kains eyes were fixed on the tattoo around her eye. Kain swam closer to the waterfall. Night seemed to fill the sky now, yet the pond was still illuminated by the moon. "you have not said much since you have came to the palace... I do not blame you, being new is never an easy thing. but do not worry i will make sure you are well looked after." Kain said as he was swimming closer.

She looked down nervously, her hand reaching up to brush her fingers across the tattoo. "Just a small tribe in the neighboring kingdom..." She breathed then dropped her hand and forced a smile onto her face. "It's no big deal though! It's all in the past anyways." She said in a cheerfull voice while looking at the Prince with a happy light in her eyes, for the moment not worried about what punishment Princess Nisha would inflict upon her when she returned.

Kain looked at her a bit strangely, and then listened to the surroundings suddenly everything was quiet, and Kain started paying more attention to the tree. "Come, we must move... it is no longer safe here." Kain got out of the pond and put his belt and sword back on, and quickly drew the blade. "Hurry, lets go." Kain Waited for Lilliana to get out of the pond and grab her things. "Im sorry to have to cut this short. I was quite enjoying that swim..." Kain turned and saw only a glimmer in the dark. Eyes, from something evil.
