Vere curled deeper in the long emrald grass. Nagisa was left at home, but Vere knew the human wouldn't stay there. With a yawn, the gold wyrm strirred to a more comfortable position. He flared his wings and clawed the earth. He liked being in the open feild, even though the threat of another wyrm worried him slightly.

Forest green eyes flashed cunningly as the sunlight caught them through the shifting leaves. A small warm breeze picked up, making Etain's flames flicker and cast moving rays of light upon the trees that were next to her. Her body was of a golden color which was accented by the silver adornings that had been put upon her by Tashe, the human she was bonded with. Taking a step forward Etain thrust her nose into the sky, she had caught the scent of another wyrm.

Vere stood and flexed his sky patterned wings. He pawed the ground as he sented another wyrm. He knew he could outrun almost anyone, but he still was a bit nervous. His last fight exhausted his power and he was tired. He awaited the newcomer's approach.

Moving silently betixt the trees, Etain's powerful paws lead her forwards, although her eyes where not looking before her but to the green feilds. At the moment she was quite content about staying her distance from the other wyrm, expecailly since she foud it was a male. Even though Etain had no wings, she was as agile upon her feet as a fish in the water or a bird in the sky. Every now and then she was able to catch a glimps of the wyrm hidden in the grass.

"Who's there?" the wyrm roared baring his fangs. The sunlight glinted off his horns and hooves. Every muscle in his body tensed. Dust clouded around his thrashing tail. Vere was not happy being nervous.

Etain stopped in mid step as the question was projected through the quiet air. As her head turned to the source of the bellow, a smirk oozed across her face like spilt ink. Raising her snout to the heavens Etain let forth a mocking call, almost identical to the owners. "Who's there?" Snickering quietly, she looked to the middle of the feild.

Vere sneered and rolled his sapphire eyes. "Who wants to know?" he retorted with a toss of his head. He pawed the ground and began to pace, trying to get a mere glance of his opponet.

Pawing the ground slightly in amusment Etain replied with a slight tint of laughter, "Why do you want to know?" Swinging her whip like tail, she yawned, this wyrm was starting to bore her slightly, although her intrest was not gone intirely.

Vere snorted as he caught a flash of gold in the trees. "Because I found you," he growled going on the defencive. His wings flared wide and he sneered, baring his fangs. "So come at me."

Rolling her eyes Etain snorted then thought to herself before replying.
What a typical male, thinks I want to fight him.
Yawning she replied to the wyrm in the grassy field, "I have no wish to attack you. I am simply passing through to meet my bonded..."

Vere blinked suprized. "Good, because I'm exhausted," he sighed. He sat on his haunches in an odd pose and cocked his head to the side. "You have a bonded?" he mused thinking of his own bonded, the idiot. He loved his idiot though. He stared intently at the female. 'She's beautiful, like a bright snake with venom in its fangs,' he thought to himself.

"Yes, Is not that just what I said." Waving her tail lazily behind her, Etain watched the male, scrutinizing him with emerald eyes. Although she was a little wary, he was staring at her as if mezmerized. "Can I help you, or is it a custom where you come from to stare."

Vere turned away suddenly. "Pardon me," he muttered. He scraped a hoof against the ground. "Pray tell, what is your name?" the summer wyrm asked with a nervous flick of his long tail, "I am called Vere." He flared his wings causing them to blend in slightly with the warm sky.

"Amusing. Vere means true in Italian..." Shrugging sleep away from her shoulders, Etain continued in a placid tone. "I am called Etain, and my bonded is Vala of the Shannara clan." Picking a taloned paw off the ground, she inspected one of her claws in a bored manner.
