Since this is a fanfiction sub-topic about our favourite anime ninjas, why not post some fanfiction considering this place is still a little empty? Well, here's my Naruto fanfiction with an original character (OC) of my own ^^ And of course, you don't have to read everything in one go... Take your time~ So now I present to you...
~::Chapter One::~
Your name is Hasane Karae. You're related to Naruto. His distant cousin, to be exact but you're both real close. And you're 13 years old. You don't remember much about your family. You just remember growing up in Konoha with Naruto.
The colour of your hair is black and it ends at your waist. Your eyes are green in colour. Other than that, you're slightly shorter than Sasuke, making you taller than Sakura and Naruto. You wear a black sleeveless top. You wear a knee-length skirt that's green with pants underneath like Sakura's only it's black. You only wear your hitai-ate when you want, and you don't wear it most of the time because you thought of it as troublesome.
You were skipping home after training and humming to yourself when you passed by the ramen shop and saw your cousin in there. You decide to just stop by and surprise him so you sneaked behind him as quietly as you could and...
"Hiya, Naruto!!" you screamed in his ear.
He jolted and spilled his ramen all over the table. Then only did you notice a huge stack of empty ramen bowls right in front of you.
"Don't scare me like that! I haven't even started on that bowl yet... Another bowl please!"
He ordered another bowl and the second it hit the table, Naruto attacked it like a hungry animal that hasn't eaten for days. You were quite hungry too so you ordered one for yourself. When your order arrived, you picked up your chopsticks and was just about to eat when Naruto asked, "Are you going to eat that?" eyeing your bowl of ramen.
"Of course! That's the reason I ordered it. If you want another, go get one yourself," you said, sticking your tongue out at him.
After both you and Naruto finished your ramen, you two paid for them and left the shop. After you two exited the shop, you started to talk to him about what's been happening recently. After the short conversation, you began walking the opposite direction of your (and Naruto's) house.
"Hey, where're you going?"
"Isn't it obvious? The candy store!!!"
And with that, you sped off leaving a cloud of dust trailing behind you. As you ran, you saw Hinata and approached her.
"Hiya Hinata!"
"Hm? Oh hi, Karae." Hinata doesn't stutter when she talks to you because you two are really close.
"Where're you going?"
"No where special. Just walking around."
"Wanna come with me to the candy store?"
"Sure."
You two begin to walk towards the store.
"Hey, look! There's Naruto!" You exclaimed, pointing at a nearby house. Hinata quickly hides behind you.
"Where? Where?"
"Don't worry, Hina-chan. You have to stop being so shy if you want Naruto to notice you more."
She nods and you two continue walking.
"So how's everything at your place?"
"Everything's okay. Neji's training a lot and Hiashi's busy as usual."
"Still having a crush on Naruto?"
Her cheeks turn slightly pink. "Hai."
You laugh a little. "Until today, I still don't get why you like him..."
"He's dedicated, funny, powerful when he wants to be, always so cheerful looking-"
"Okay, okay I get it. For lots of reasons!"
"Yay!!! We're here!" You skipped into the shop and Hinata follows right behind you.
You pick up a little basket and begin browsing through everything.
"Ooo! Caramel lollipops!!" You grabbed a few handfulls of them and threw them into the basket.
"Mmmm... Chocolate..." You did the same thing with the chocolate and a few other sweets. You were done picking out everything you needed.
"Hina, want anything?"
"No, thanks."
"Okay!"
You put all the candy you chose on the counter. Hinata was looking outside the shop. You quickly whispered something to the shopkeeper and he put some of the candy into a small bag and the rest into another. You paid for the sweets and walked to Hinata.
"Hinata, can you help me carry one of these bags? They're kinda heavy." You pretended to be struggling with the two bags of candy.
"Of course."
You two walked towards your houses. You reached a junction where your house was on the left and Hinata's was on the right.
"Well Hina, I gotta go now. See ya soon!" You waved and skipped towards your house.
"Karae-chan!! Your sweets!!" She shouted just loud enough for you to hear.
"Oh, don't worry! Keep it! I've picked out your favourites and put them into the bag! Have fun!!"
As you neared the house, you saw someone entering. You ran to catch up with whoever it was.
"Hey, Naruto! Where've you been?"
"I just got some candy for us!" He held up a bag full of sweets.
"Hey, me too!" You showed him yours.
"Oh well, more for us!!" You two said in unison.
You went inside, took a few lollipops and put them into your pocket. You stashed the rest of the candy in a drawer. You saw Naruto getting a cup of instant ramen and started pouring hot water into it.
"You just ate!"
"All that walking got me hungry..." His stomach growled. "See?"
"*Anime sweatdrop* Yea, yea."
You were bored. You checked your 'What To Do When Bored List' and the first thing on top was, annoy people! You thought for a while.
"Okay, first stop, Tsunade's!"
In a few minutes, you were in front of the hokage's building. You barged through the unlocked door of the hokage's and stared at the half-asleep form of Tsunade on her desk. You walked up behind her, knowing you didn't have to sneak because she wouldn't wake up.
"Hey Tsunade, what'cha doing??" you shouted while poking her.
She eventually woke up and she wasn't exactly in a good mood... Grumpy, actually.
"WHO IS THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR-"
"Waking you up? Me!!!" You waved in front of her, knowing what she was going to say.
She gave you a glare.
"So why're you here?" She asked in an annoyed tone.
You put on a shocked face and said, "Huh? You don't know? I'm terribly upset! I thought you'd know by now."
"Oh no... I think I remember now... It's not a good thing is it?"
"Of course it's good! I'm here because I have nothing else better to do than be here!" You grinned. "Come to think of it, I think I will stay here to make sure you finish your paper work!"
You knew you'd have a great time annoying Tsunade, especially when she's doing her work.
"No! Go home and find something else to do. You'll distract me... purposely..." She said the last part softly so you couldn't hear and gestured toward the door with her hand.
"I promise I won't! And I have to make sure you do your paper work, ma'am!" You put your hands beside you and stood straight trying to look important.
Tsunade got irritated and pushed you out the door. "Go!" She slammed the door right behind you.
"Well, that was fun! But it would've been better if I stayed... Oh, well." you said to yourself outloud.
It was just 6 in the afternoon so you decided to walk around. When you pass by the training grounds, you hear the sounds of kunai and shurikens hitting tree trunks around the area. *Wonder who it is...* You walk toward the field and see none other than Uchiha Sasuke, top rookie of the year. You tried to slowly get behind him and shock him. You quietly took a step towards him.
"What do you think you're doing?" he said without turning towards you.
You were surprised. "Hiya! I was just passing by. What're you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing?"
"Wasting time?"
"..."
"Not talking?"
He continued practicing his aim and throwing weapons at the tree.
"Ignoring me? ... Hey, you're ignoring me!! Why're you ignoring me?"
"Why should I not ignore you?"
"I asked a question first!"
"Your point is?"
"I have none!" You grinned.
"Right..."
"Wanna battle? I've nothing to do."
"Hn."
"Is that a yes I hear? Okay!"
You skipped in front of him and shifted into battle position. You waited for him to make the first move but he just stood in his stance so you ran towards him with a kunai in front of you, ready to cut him.
He disappeared and appeared behind you. He sent a kick towards you. You dodged just in time and took the opportunity to cut him. Without giving him any time to recover, you sent several punches and kicks at him. He manages to avoid most of them. You gave him a hard punch and it took a direct hit.
But something wasn't right... Smoke appeared and in the place of Sasuke was a log! You quickly looked around for Sasuke. Suddenly four shurikens came flying your way from a tree. You threw four shurikens too and they cancelled the ones Sasuke threw. He came down from the tree and started running toward you. You took a few blows and countered from time to time. Sasuke looked really tired. His attacks started slowing down and you took advantage.
You kicked him and he fell backwards panting heavily. You stood over him and pointed your kunai at his throat. Then you kept it and held out a hand to help Sasuke up.
"Not bad, Sasuke."
"..."
"Hey, say something, at least!"
"Hn."
And with that, he walked off.
*Hmph! Ignorant person. Can't even talk in complete sentences.*
You too went back to your house. You took a shower, ate your dinner and all that. Then, you went straight to sleep, tired because of the battle. And you drifted to sleep.

Thanks ^^ Well, here's the next chapter~
~::Chapter 2::~
-RRRIIIIINNNGGG!!!!!!!-
You picked it up and threw it toward the wall.
*Stupid clock...*
And you went back to sleep.
-Knock Knock-
*Ahhh...What now???*
"Who is it?" You asked in a sleepy yet annoyed tone.
"Guess!"
You'd recognize that hyper voice anywhere.
"Go away, Naruto... I'm trying to sleep!"
You covered your head with your pillow.
You hear Naruto telling you something but you couldn't tell what he was trying to say. You just ignored him and tried going back to sleep.
-BAM!- You heard an explosion or something in the next room.
-Footsteps-
-BAM!- This time, it was way louder than the previous one.
You immediately sat up. You saw Naruto grinning in front of your widely open bedroom door.
"You shouldn't kick the door open, you know...Where're your keys anyway?"
He grinned and scratched the back of his head.
"I lost them?"
"Kay..."
You laid back onto the bed and closed your eyes.
You felt someone shaking you.
"Kakashi-sensei asked me to come get you!! You're late for practice!"
"Okay, okay I'm coming."
You get a new change of clothes. Naruto just stands there.
"Now go out, please?"
"Why?"
*Wow, he is dumb...Wait. I knew that since...forever!*
"I have to change!" You shoved him out the door and slammed it.
You changed, showered, ate breakfast and the rest of your morning routine. You started for the door when you remember something.
"Oops... almost forgot."
You get the lollipops you left in your pockets yesterday and put them into the pockets on your current pants.
"I'm ready, Naruto!"
"Then let's go!!"
You took out a lollipop and unwrapped it. You popped it into your mouth and ran toward the training field where you and your team was supposed to meet up.
"Ohayo, everyone!!"
You waved. Sasuke who was sitting under the shade of a tree gave you a "Hn." and Sakura greeted you back.
"How nice of you to finally join us, Karae." Kakashi said to you.
"So what're we gonna do today?"
"Learn how to climb trees-"
"Hah! Piece of cake!" Naruto yelled.
"I wasn't finished. I was gonna say you're gonna learn how to climb trees-"
You cut in. "Without using our hands?"
Kakashi nodded. "How'd you know?"
"I discovered how to do it when I was practicing by myself the other day." You said happily.
"Awesome!!! Karae-chan, teach me!"
"Kakashi-sensei, do you want to explain?"
"Nope. You go ahead." He took out his book and started reading.
"*Sigh* Okay. Now Sasuke, Sakura, pay attention! Especially you Naruto!!"
You started explaining how to walk up trees and demonstrated.
"Like I said. Piece of cake!" Naruto exclaimed.
He walked over to a tree and put a foot on the tree trunk. He raised his other foot and -thud!-, he fell hard onto the ground.
"Too little chakra Naruto, and you will fall."
Sasuke tried next. He focused some chakra into his feet and did the same as Naruto. He set one foot onto the tree trunk. He raised his other foot and he didn't fall.
*So far so good, Uchiha.* He put his foot onto the trunk and -crack!- the tree trunk broke. Sasuke almost hit the ground but he backflipped at the last moment and landed safely.
"Too much chakra and the trunk breaks."
Sakura focused some chakra into her feet. *Not too little but not too much either.* She thought. She was able to walk a few steps up the tree.
"Sugoi, Sakura!!" Naruto congratulated her.
"Thanks!!" She looked over at Sasuke to see if he was going to say anything but he was just trying to master the exercise. Sakura didn't pay any attention to the amount of chakra she was supposed to be focusing on and she started falling.
"AAHHHHHH!!!!"
You caught her right before she landed on the ground and laughed.
"Careful. Always pay attention to your chakra or else you'll fall."
"Hai, Karae!" She said, salluting. She laughed.
"I think you can make your way to the top. Just focus, Sakura." You told her cheerfully.
She nods. Soon, everyone was practicing and you sat by the edge of the lake, looking at your reflection.
*I wonder how's it like to be a cloud... So carefree...* You thought as you looked at the reflection of the sky behind your own reflection. *Wait...I AM carefree!* You laughed to yourself.
After daydreaming for some time, you finally decided to snap out of it. You turn around to see how everyone's progressing. You see Sakura walking towards the top. She reached it and sits on the branch.
"Well done, Sakura!! Congratulations!"
She smiled. "Thanks."
Sasuke and Naruto were doing better but they still couldn't reach the top.
"Gambatte, Naruto, Sasuke!!!" You cheered both of them on.
Sakura did too but she kept giving Sasuke good comments such as "You're doing better! Go, Sasuke-kun!".
After what you thought was a few minutes, Kakashi walked toward the four of you still reading his little book.
"That's enough for the day. Class dismissed."
He disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"Aw... this lollipop's finished!"
You threw it aside and took out another. You unwrapped it and popped it into your mouth.
"Well, I'm off! What about you three?"
"I'm going back home. I need to clean up the place today. See ya." Sakura told you.
She walked away, leaving three people.
"You, Naruto?"
"I want to go get some ramen! Wanna come?"
"Uh... no thanks."
"Suit yourself!"
Naruto ran toward Ichiraku Ramen with a growling stomach. Now it only leaves two. You and Sasuke.
"Everyone's gone except you. So where're you heading?"
"Don't forget yourself, Ka."
You don't mind people calling you nicknames, it's just that you prefer not to have any. You decided to call him a nickname too because he kinda irritated you.
"You still haven't answered my question, Sa!"
"None of your business."
He started walking off.
*Mean as ever...*
You decide to go the Hyuuga compound to look for Hinata. You started to run to your destination when you accidently tripped Sasuke.
"Sorry!" You said while running and looking back, more jokingly than serious.
Sasuke thought you did it on purpose and started chasing you.
*AAHHHH!! He's chasing meeeeee!*
You ran faster, but you weren't paying attention to where you were running. You just wanted to escape from Sasuke. Before you knew it, you were running in a forest but not too deep. Sasuke was still hot on your trail.
You ran forward, turning your head back and stuck a tongue out at him very 'You-Can't-Get-Me'ishly. You weren't watching where you were running because you were looking backwards and you tripped on a tree root. Sasuke, who was very close behind you, also fell down but managed to stop from falling face-flat by putting his hands in front of him.
He was on top of you. His hands were beside your head.
*Luckily I'm facing the ground. Or else it'd be waaaay embarrasing. And it's definately not something I'd enjoy either.*
"Sasuke, get off. Please?" You said the last part with a tint of sarcasticness.
He immediately got off and his cheeks were tinted with light pink but you didn't notice because he looked the other way and you were dusting the sand and soil stuff off your clothes.
"I'm off to Hinata's! See ya, Sa!"
He was dusting himself and you tripped him again while he wasn't looking when running to the Hyuuga compound. Only this time it was on purpose.
He started chasing you again.
*It's gonna end differently this time! Bwahahaha!*
You turned in to a sharp turn and quickly hid on the roof of a nearby building. You peeked below as you see Sasuke looking around for you. You started giggling. You clasped your hands over your mouth and hid on the rooftop.
"Phew... That was a close one..." You said softly as you leaned on a chimney.
"You think?"
You turned to your right and immediately see Sasuke staring at you. Your faces were just a few inches away from each other. You were surprised and kinda jolted backwards, making you fall off the rooftop.
*Shoot.*
You closed your eyes and waited for impact but someone caught you right before you hit the ground. You looked at the person and it was Sakura!
"Hey, be careful, Karae-chan. You might've gotten hurt. What made you fall off the roof anyway? It's not like you to fall off easily."
She glanced up at where you just fell from. You stood up. You followed her glance and saw no sign of Sasuke. You felt really relieved!
*If she saw Sasuke, I think I would've been in big trouble..*
"Oh nothing. Weeeeeell, gotta go now. See ya!"
After you skipped a few steps, you saw something blue near a tree you just passed. It was obvious it was trying to be kept undiscovered. You just decided to play along.
"Ooops. Left something..." You acted as if you were thinking outloud. You turned around and started toward the tree.

Hehe Thanks, you two! I feel so happy~ ^-^ I've actually typed up to Chapter Eight >.> But anway! Here's Chapter Three for you all~
~::Chapter Three::~
The leaves suddenly rustled. *Hiding in there, huh?* You kept walking forward until you were right below the tree. You looked upwards and saw Sasuke. He was looking down, at you. You jumped up and pushed him off the branch he was sitting on. There was a puff off smoke and when it cleared, there wasn't anything there but a small log.
...Replacement jutsu... You were annoyed that you got tricked by such a simple jutsu. "Saaaaaasukeeeeee!" You shouted into the air. You just felt like it, and so, you did. Anyway, you calmed down soon after. "I'm gonna get him..." You muttered under your breath. But then something struck you. *If he used the replacement jutsu, then he should still be nearby. But after I spent so much time already, I highly doubt that. ...But just in case.* You looked around quickly. You were pretty sure you saw a slight bit of blue in the corner of a building but when you looked closer, you just thought it was your imagination.
You walked around the town - aimlessly, as usual. You passed by a few people you knew and just greeted them. *Hm... I'm sure I wanted to go somewhere. The problem is, where is somewhere?* You drifted off into space. Without noticing, your feet just kept on walking the normal aimless route you always took. *Now...let's trace back a few moments ago... I was falling off the roof. Nono, before that. Um... eating candy? Ah, my memory's so bad, I can't even remember what happened less than an hour ago! So... I think I'll head over to the training fie-* You didn't get to finish the thought. Someone grabbed your shoulder and pulled you back. You snapped out of your trance-like state to find out you almost collided with one of the biggest, oldest, hardest trees in Konoha.
"Whoaaaa!"
You were still unsteady as you were a little surprised and almost tumbled backwards. Another hand grabbed your other shoulder to prevent you from falling. You turned your head slightly to thank whoever that saved you from getting your nose flattened and butt squished. You see lavander eyes and brown hair with a blank face.
"Oh! It's you, Neji. Thanks for saving me from..." You tried to think of something that best describes what you were trying to say. "...that." You smiled and turned around to face him. Well, you tried to anyway. Neji was still holding onto both your shoulders and his grip was gentle, but firm. His face was blank and it seemed as if he was daydreaming or something.
"Um... You can let go now, Neji." You raised your hand and put it on top of his and gently pushed it off your shoulder. He snaps out of his trance-like state and shoves them into his pockets. You just smiled a little and shook your head.
"What're you doing here?"
"Hinata's looking for you. She says she looked everywhere but she couldn't seem to locate you. She wanted to speak to you so much she even asked me to help her. And a minute ago, I see you walking like a deaf zombie, heading straight for a tree." He said looking away.
You put your hand in front of your chest and put on an offended look with a small gasp. "Did you just call me deaf? I can hear just fine."
"You were just now. I shouted over to you over and over again but-" Neji was cut off.
"You shouted!? My, my, that's very rude." You wagged your finger at him with the other hand on your waist.
"That isn't my point! My point is that you were deaf! That time." He looked away. He seemed... nervous?
"All that matters now is that I can hear now, right? Situation settled!" You said with a grin.
You jumped, grabbed the lowest branch of the tree and swung yourself up. You started to go up higher but Neji grabbed your ankle before you could swing onto the next.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" He said with that monotonous voice of his. He was looking away again. You thought it was odd, but just shrugged it off.
"Let me think..." You paused. "Nope! Don't think so." You made another attempt at grabbing another branch, but again, Neji stopped you. You gave out a sigh.
"Okay, okay... What was it I'm supposed to do again?" You asked him genuinely clueless, scratching the back of your head.
He closed his eyes and gave out a small sigh. Then he said cooly, "Shortly, find Hinata. She's looking for you."
"Oh! Right!" You flashed him a smile. "Arigato. Sayonara, Neji-kun!"
You waved to him. You jumped down and ran towards the direction of the Hyuuga compound. As you ran, Neji kept eyeing you until you disappeared out of sight but you didn't take any notice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You knocked on the door of Hinata's room. The entrance to the compound was open so you let yourself in. They always let you in anyway considering you're the head's daughter's closest friend. Ooookay...
"I'm coming." You heard a familiar voice from inside. Soft, but loud enough for you to hear. The door opens and Hinata is seen holding a really thick book in her hands. It looked kinda heavy too.
"Hinata! Were you looking for me?" You asked her as you entered the room.
"Hai, Karae. Have a seat." You gestured towards a really comfy looking couch.
"Only a seat? Can't your best friend have the whole thing?"
Hinata laughed a little. "Sure, sure. Of course you can. Just don't mess up the covers. I just changed them this morning."
"No problem!"
"Oh yeah, and you forgot to take this home last week. I wanted to return it to you earlier but I kept forgetting to." Hinata handed you your hitai-ate.
"I didn't even know I lost it!" You grinned and tied it loosely around your neck.
"That's because you practically never wear it, aren't I right?"
"Definately. Anyway, what is so important that you even had to send Neji out to find me?" You laid on the couch, hugging the pillow closest to you.
Hinata gave you a questioning face. "Huh? Send Neji-kun to find you? I didn't do that. Earlier this afternoon he asked what I was doing when I was walking around the village. I told him I was searching for you. Then he just walked away." She handed you a cup of green tea.
You took it with both hands. "Oh okay... He was acting slighty strange though... He kept looking away and all."
Hinata's face lighted up. "I dunno... Maybe he likes you?"
You got totally shocked and dropped your tea, spilling it all over the couch and burning your hands a little. "Oh my gosh, I'm so so sooo sorry, Hina-chan!!" You took some tissues and tried to reduce the stain on the couch.
Hinata just stood there looking at the mess. "I-It's alright, Karae. Accidents happen..." Although it was faint, there was a slight touch of disappointment in her timid voice.
"I'll make it up to you! I'll wash the covers until it's good as new for you, kay? I'll start right away!"
"No, Karae. You don't have to. The maids ca-"
"It's alright, I insist! Anyway, that means I get to spend the night here tonight if I can't get the stain out!" You said all hyper-like. Hinata just couldn't resist smiling a bit.
"Okay, if you really don't mind washing the-" She got tackled by you in a hug before she could finish.
"Thank you, thank you Hina! You're the best!" You grinned widely.
She shook her head slightly. "You thank people for being able to do something for them... You're a strange, Karae."
"Which is precisely why you like me, isn't it?"
She scratched the back of her head. "Uh... I guess."
"Okay, so I'll come back this evening to start scrubbing the covers! Bye Hina!" You told her with a wave and walked into the streets of Konoha... again.
*I'm booooored...* You pulled your hitai-ate up to cover your eyes and tried to walk back home blindfolded. You walked... and walked... and walked for quite some time. The more you walked, the less noise there was around you. Meaning you were straying away from the main part of town. *Hey! I should be back at home by now!* You just continued walking, half-confident of your instincts. You walked right into someone and fell backwards on your butt.
"Great. First I almost fell and now I actually did!" You said aloud while pulling off your hitai-ate.
"Shows how lame you are, really." You glanced up and saw Sasuke with hands in his pockets and that blank face as usual. You were just about to get up when suprisingly, Sasuke held out his hand to help you. You hesitated but held onto it anyway and he pulled you up.
"Thanks." You said while smiling. And almost immediately, you remembered what he wasid about you and countered his remark. "Well, at least I was blindfolded at the time." You retied your hitai-ate around your neck. "You on the other hand wasn't blindfolded and still bumped into someone. That is how you see if someone's lame."
"How could you 'see' that I wasn't blindfolded? You couldn't see at that time. Maybe you are the lame one."
"Hmph." You crossed your arms and looked to the side. "I can tell."
It was silent for a while until you heard leaves and twigs crunching in the distance. You turned back to face where the Uchiha was and there he was pretty far away without any notice! You were pretty angry. *Huh? Leaving without saying anything? Talk about mean!* You ran up to him and thumped him slightly on the head. He looked as if nothing has happened and kept that I'm-emotionless-and-cool look.
"Hey, show some emotion! It won't hurt, I'm sure!"
"..."
"Okay, okay..." You said with an sigh. "If it makes you feel any better, I'll apologize for tripping you or any other fun thing I've ever did, happy?" You smiled at him.
He just looks at you blanky. "Yeah..." And resumed walking.
You started jumping around as if you could jump your stress of not making Sasuke say more away while whimpering to yourself. "Come on, Sasuke! You have to be more fun!!"
"Why should I?" He said with that famous smirk plastered on his face.
"It'll do you some good!"
"How?"
"Become less emotionless and all, of course." The end was said with a 'duh' kinda tone.
"I like myself just the way I am." He says turning away with his eyes closed, resuming that cool look again.
You kept silent while staring at him for a while and a mischievious expression came across your face. Feeling something was amiss, he turned to you and saw that look.
"Oh no... I don't want to hear it."
"Too bad, you'll have to! Anyway, if you don't show any emotion soon, I'm going to-"
"Hey, look. There's Neji." Sasuke said, frowning. You haven't noticed it, but you and Sasuke were walking while *ahem* talking.
"Huh?" You turned to the direction he was looking at, and sure there he was, the genius with light lavander eyes and long brown hair.
lol, Becca XD Sounds fun! Maybe I'll put it somewhere in further chapters but whoooo knoooows? >.> Hehe~ Here's chapter five, everyone! Oh, and it's longer than the usual ones ^^
~::Chapter Five::~
"Cool!! I see you've done some redecorating." You exclaimed as you plopped your bag beside the wall next to the door. You looked around the newly redecorated room of your best friend. Previously, Hinata's room was plain white all over, except for occasional metallic stuff. There were the white fluffy sofas, white marble coffee table with a white rug below it to match, white floor carpeting, plain white walls with a few very beautiful paintings by random people and of course, the occasional white ceiling. It was nice. There was this royal feeling to it. Then again, like mentioned, it was just white all over which did get boring quite fast. Now, it was waaay colourful! Not exactly, but good enough for the taste of the hyper Karae. The sofa has changed to a deep brown with beige pillows. A brownish red table top placed on the table made a lot of difference to the overall feeling of the room, considering the size. The curtains are now a deep orange, which made the room look like evening outdoors. It looked very natural now. Very much how the two friends liked things; natural, with the least amount modernity as possible.
"How is it?" Hinata asked you.
"It's fabulous! Reminds me of autumn..." You gave a small sigh. One question was bugging you though. "But... how did you manage to get all these things in such a short amount of time? I wasn't gone all that long."
"Oh, about that. As you know, the Hyuuga compound is very large." *Duh...* She continued, "There's a very big... let's call it a storeroom. We keep all the old furniture and stuff in there and if anyone wants to use it, we just get it from there."
"But... but... I came over to wash the old sofa covers! They must still be around here somewhere, right?" You questioned Hinata.
"Like I said, I thought you were joking... and so... they're already washed." She rubbed the back of her head. "They're probably drying halfway by now."
You gave out a sigh. "Well, at least that's less work. I should be getting back home now." You grabbed your bag and head for the door.
"Wait! You can stay here at the compound if you want. You don't have to go back if you don't want to." You stopped walking and turned back to Hinata.
"Hm? Oh really??" Hinata nodded. "Of course."
"Yay!! So, where do I sleep?"
"There's a room right next to this one, if you want."
"Sure, that works." Hinata opens the door for you as your hands were full from carrying your bag. You enter the room and you found it satisfying. A little plain, but nothing you couldn't handle.
You put your bag next to the dresser and plop down onto the bed. "Thanks a lot, Hina-chan! This bed is so so soft!" You started bouncing up and down the bed. Hinata giggled at your funny way of entertaining yourself. Every time you bounced into the air, you'd be laughing and saying, "Wheeeeee~!"
You finally get tired and lay down resting. You looked at the blue ceiling that reminded you of cloudless skies. You close your eyes for while and try to relax yourself. Although you didn't see it, but you knew Hinata was sitting on a chair, relaxing too.
-Knock Knock-
"Come in, the door's unlocked!" You shout just loud enough for the person at door to hear. You sit up and look at your visitor. The door slowly opens and Neji walks in.
"Karae?" He spots you sitting on the bed.
"Yes Neji-kun?" You address him sweetly just because you felt like it.
"Kakashi told Naruto, who told Sakura, who told Sasuke, who told Tenten...," He pause to take a breath and then continued, "...who told Lee, who told me to tell you there are lessons with him tomorrow at the training grounds early tomorrow morning around six." He was panting lightly by the time he finished.
"Huh? Lessons with who? Lee?" You asked him innocently.
"No! Lessons... *pant* with Kaka... *pant* ...shi." He was still standing straight but his breathing was just a little uneven.
"No lessons with Kakashi? I know that... There's never any training unless he tells us." You rolled your eyes.
Hinata sympathized Neji and decided to save him from you and your smart comebacks. "Oh come on, Karae. You know what he was trying to say."
"Yeah, yeah... I guess I do know... After all, I am smart!" And then you struck a peace sign. "Thanks for telling me, Neji. I really appreciate it." You gave him a smile. He just smirked a little and walked out with a short gesture of 'see you later', closing the door behind him.
"Since when were you so nice to him?" You and Hinata both ask each other at the same time. You both laugh. "You first." Hinata said.
"Okay. I'm just treating him nicely because he asked me to go to the Sakura festival with him next week." You told Hinata. She seemed a little surprised but that was all.
"Why do you seem not very surprised?" Hinata just smiled.
"I told you, he has a crush on you! You didn't believe me the first time, and you're probably not going to believe me if I told you a second time either. But remember; Neji liiiiikes yooou! That's a fact!" She crossed her arms in front of her chest and stuck her tongue out at you. You returned the gesture and yawned shortly after.
"Well, I'm going to sleep now Hina." You stated with a sleepy voice.
"Okay then. Oyasumi, Karae." She helped you turn off the lights since you were already in bed. [Oyasumi = Good night]
"Oyasumi, Hinata." And you fell asleep as soon as you positioned your head on the pillow.
~The Very Next Morning~
You woke up and saw the slightly blueish sky. It wasn't all that bright but it was definitely time to get up. *Wow... I woke up on my own... That's a first.* You tried to untangle yourself from the blanket and in the process, falling off the bed. *Well, that certainly wasn't a first. And it probably won't be the last either.* You stood up. A little wobbly, but that was the effects of falling off. You stretched your arms and legs and walked towards your bag. You picked out a clean set of clothes and searched for your towel. *Hm... I'm sure it's around here somewhere...* You rummaged through your whole bag and you still couldn't find it. *I'll just borrow one from Hinata then.* You knocked on Hinata's door, holding your change of clothes.
"Hiiiinaaaa! It's me, Karae!!!" There was a moment of silence before you heard a reply.
"Oh, come in. The door's unlocked." You enter her room and see Hinata still in bed, rubbing her eyes.
"Karae, what made you wake up so early? Even I was still sleeping." Hinata finished with a yawn escaping.
"I dunno. I just woke up by myself, I guess." You shrugged.
"Okay then, what do you want?"
"I forgot to bring my towel, and I was wondering if-" You got cut off by Hinata.
"Sure. Go to room opposite of yours and choose one. Most of the doors around here are unlocked, so... yeah."
"Thanks!" And you marched off to find the towel you needed.
~After Your Eventless Shower~
You quickly packed your things into your bag. You thanked Hinata and Hiashi for the night's stay and jogged back home. For some people it's called skipping but it was jogging for you. When you arrived at home, you fished out your keys and opened the door. You entered and went straight to your room. But when you passed by the living room...
"NARUTOOO!!!" The room was real messy. There were obviously at least 6 ramen cups all over the floor, and for some unknown reason, the couch pillows and books of all sorts were scattered everywhere. Naruto rushed into the room.
"What? What? What did I miss?" He started looking all around.
"Is it even actually possible to miss a mess as big as this?" Your pointed at the very, very untidy room which you definitely disapproved of. "What did you do until the whole place turned upside down?"
"Oh... Yesterday, I couldn't find... the... um... shampoo! Yeah, that's right; the shampoo! So I tried looking for it all over the place. When I finished taking a bath, I was so sleepy I just went straight to bed." He grinned cheesily while scratching the back of his head.
"Well then," You started, trying to keep calm and cool, "I'm sure you don't feel sleepy right now so... clean this place up right now!!"
"Yes, ma'am!" He saluted and started cleaning like a robot. You just stood there and watched him tidy the room. He worked so fast, the entire mess was gone within 10 minutes. You just nodded with a satisfied smile on your face and deposited your bag in your room. You checked the time and you still had an hour or so before Kakashi's lessons start. You strapped on your weapons pouch and tied your hitai-ate loosely around your neck. You walked back into the living room and laid down on the couch, thinking about what you would do for the rest of the day. *It's still so early... But I guess going there early won't do me any harm. I can walk around town too, considering Kaka always arrive late.* Yes, Kaka... that was what you would call your sensei whenever you wanted to irritate him. It was shorter and easier to say than Kakashi anyway. Though it did sound a little weird, you thought it was cute.
"Naruto, I'm leaving now. Remember to come to the training grounds, yeah?" Somewhere in the house you hear a faint "Yeah, sure." so you just left. When you got outside, the blinding sunlight caused pain to your eyes. You weren't prepared for a sudden burst of light like that because it was quite dim inside with all the curtains down. After squinting for a while you got used to the light. You suddenly had a craving for lollipops so you ran to the candy store to get some. After picking out your favourites, you popped one of them into your mouth. You put the rest into your weapons pouch. After wandering around town for a while, you saw Sasuke sitting on a bench, staring at the floor with that emo look of his. His head was resting on the laced hands in front of him and he seemed to be in deep thought. With the feeling of curiosity poking you towards him, you approach Sasuke.
He was facing sideways so he couldn't see you. Not that he would notice even if you were right in front of him. From behind, you tapped him lightly on the shoulder. He didn't notice so you tapped him lightly on the shoulder again but slightly harder this time. He still didn't budge and so you got annoyed. From the back, you push his head forward making his hands go loose and he almost crashed onto the floor, head first. Luckily for him, he caught himself a moment before he did and quickly regained his composure, still sitting on the bench. He looked behind him and saw you. You just smile at him and walked to the other side of the bench. You sat down next to him and pulled your legs close to you, wrapping your arms around it. The Uchiha gave you a questioning look.
"What're you doing here?" He asked you in his monotonous voice.
"Why, I can't be here?" You put on that adorable-looking face that everyone seemed to fall for. He turned a slight shade of pink that could barely be seen but it was still there and you definitely noticed.
"Aww... Little Sasuke-kun blushing?" You poked him lightly on the cheek. You were obviously playing with him but just to pass the time away until training starts. You had to admit though, it was fun too. He swatted your hand away and the pink became even more noticeable.
"Hn." Was all he said.
"Huh? Is that a yes I hear?" You raised your hand and placed it next to your ear.
"...No."
"No it's not a yes or no you're not blushing or no, go away?" You smirked playfully.
"Class will be starting soon. We'd better head to the training grounds now." He stood up and put his hands in his pockets. He seemed to be waiting for you or something because he didn't seem to be leaving yet.
"Hai, sensei!" You stood up straight with a mock salute.
"I'm not your sensei."
"But I can call you that, can't I?"
"..." Then he started walking off.
"Hey, wait up!" You shouted after him and followed his lead.
~::::::::::::~
"Okay, during our last lesson, you all learnt how to walk up trees," Kakashi explained lazily, "so today you're going to do something using the same principle."
"Come on, come on, tell us what we're gonna do, already!!" Naruto was being his hyper, energetic self as usual.
"Keep quiet Naruto! You're so noisy. Why can't you be more like Sasuke-kun?" And Sakura was scolding Naruto for everything he does while praising Sasuke at the same time.
Kakashi gave out a mushroom sigh. "Quiet down both of you, of we'll never be able to begin." Naruto was nodding vigorously, trying his best to contain his bubbling excitement. "For today's lesson, you're going to walk on water, or at least try to."
"Yeah, this rocks! Instructions, sensei. Hurry up!"
"Like walking up the tree, you have to focus some chakra into your feet. It's slightly harder this time because the water is..." Kakashi drifted off.
"Fragile?" You asked.
"Uh... something like that. So you have to constantly release a certain amount of chakra at a reasonable pace to stay on top of the water. Got it?"
Everyone nods and rush to the edge lake. "You may start now." Kakashi said in a bored tone while whipping out his small book from the weapons pouch.
Naruto was the first to take a step onto the lake. His leg was a little shaky and when it stabilizes, he put his other leg on the water. He stood there for a second and he suddenly fell into the water. Although it was near the edge of the lake, it was pretty deep. Not until it would drown you, of course. Everyone focused some chakra into their feet and repeated what Naruto did. Everyone fell into the water eventually but Sakura stayed afloat for the longest amount of time before she too, fell.
After some time, all of you were able to take a few steps slowly without tumbling into the water. Everyone tried to go faster and faster each time they succeeded in their previous attempt. After falling into the water over and over again, you finally felt satisfied with your 'water walking' skills. The others also seemed happy they finally got the hang of it. Well, except for Sasuke of course. He doesn't seem to show any emotions, ever. That's what you think so anyway. At that time, Kakashi was still reading his book, being absorbed by it.
You, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura were now resting under the shade of the trees beside the lake. Out of nowhere, Naruto shouts about some 'brilliant game' to play with our new ninjutsu.
"We'll race to the other side of the lake and back using the water walking technique. The one who gets back last will have to treat the first place to lunch! How does that sound?"
The word lunch caught your attention. As you thought about not having breakfast, your stomach made a grumbling noise and you sweatdropped. Everyone did the same as you did. You laughed nervously and turned to Naruto.
"Okay! Now what about the rules?" You asked him.
"Hm... none! Only that you have to use that new technique."
"Okay then, I'm in!" You shouted while jumping up, full of energy.
Sasuke mumbles a 'sure' and Sakura enters because Sasuke did. 'This is my chance to prove to Sasuke-kun that I'm better than he thinks am!' Sakura thought with tons of determination.
"Kakashi-sensei! Call the start please!" Naruto shouted over to the guy with the silver gravity-defying hair. Everyone got ready at the edge of the pond. The order they stood in was Sakura, Sasuke, you and then Naruto.
Still reading his boring 'ol book, he called out without any enthusiasm, 'Ready, set, go!'
The four genins sped off, leaving dust and a few water ripples behind them. In the lead was you and Sasuke, tied. Then was Naruto, and lastly Sakura who was lagging behind. She had great control over balancing herself but the level of her speed was quite low. Back to you, Sasuke was right behind you, glaring your way. You on the other hand smirked at him. By now, you two had already reached the other end of the lake. *I've gotta think of a plan to win this race!* You thought hard while you ran and after a few seconds, an invisible light bulb lighted beside your head. You smirked and looked at Sasuke's footing. After some quick but careful planning, you tripped him by sticking your foot out of nowhere!
Sasuke plunged into the water head first. A moment later, he resurfaced, gasping for air and swam back to shore slowly with long and steady strokes. You got back to the starting line with no problems and you jumped around like you've just won a million-dollar prize.
"Yeah! Free food~ Wheee!!" You continued jumping around. Suddenly, a voice right behind you spoke up and surprised you. You tumbled a little forward but you didn't fall.
"The winner is, Karae!" Kakashi announced. Naruto got there second, Sakura third, and the drenched Sasuke came out last. He was panting and sitting down shortly after he had reached shore.
You walked over to him and bent down so that you were at the same level as him. "Looks like you owe me some food, Sasuke." You smile.
"Uh... class was over some time ago but I didn't notice so... class dismissed. Bye!" Kakashi told his team and poofed away in a puff of smoke.
"Yay! Time for food!" You said cheerily and pulled Sasuke along with you to the sushi stall.
