This thread is for RP occurring at Sky Lake, the freshwater lake closest to the lair and a favorite of the dragons for swimming, bathing, and washing. Kismet's hideaway is located behind Sky Falls.
Sky Lake is a bubbling spring emerging from a rocky crevice to the northwest of the lair. To the east, the lake narrows and finally cascades down in a spectacular waterfall (Sky Falls). To the south, the lake narrows as well and becomes one of the sources of Orchestra River.
Have fun! Don't get too close to the waterfall!

Squirrel 0, Fate 1.
Roan sat by the lake's edge, finishing off her dinner which she had managed to apprehend with no difficulties this time. She'd been taken back to the lair, but hadn't stuck around long before leaving again without a word to anyone in particular about where she was headed.
The sound of the waterfall had drawn her and she was pleased to see that the area was deserted. Clearly feeling sorry for all the trouble it had put her through earlier, fate had sent a particularly plump squirrel running across her path. Roan had needed no gentle push to do fate's bidding and the squirrel was a very appreciated meal.
Now finished, she undid the ribbon on her pouch, spilling the contents out in front of her. She took a quick inventory of the shells. Yes, they were all still there. Slowly she began rearranging them into a pattern, frowning slightly as she worked.

Heading North in her quest for Pepper Mayumi reaches Sky Lake. She avoided going east since she figures Pepper wouldn't head towards the jungle where Reet was last reported to be seen.
During her walk and search she starts thinking about recent events, maybe things happened too fast for Pepper and her. Is it possible he's not really ready for commitment, is she doing the right thing trying to find him?
It is quite chilly now by the lake it is a sign that winter is fast approaching. Feeling thirsty she bends over and has a drink of the brisk cold water. Afterwards she sits on a large large resting and thinking on what next to do.
She could continue north towards the swamp, then to the dead woods and circle west then head back to the lair. Whether she finds Pepper or not she will always love him as well. She had always loved Pepper from afar if their one night was all she had with him she would be happy with just that. She had never thought she'd even have that.
Thinking that she's rested enough she continues heading north.

Still no sign of Pepper and for that matter no other dragon. Perhaps news of her father and last night's attack has them either looking for him in the jungle or keeping to the lair. Whatever it was that caused Reet's attack she hopes it's not a permanent or hereditary condition.

*Flame's head emerged from beneath the clear water of the lake, pushing damp shoulder-length hair out of his eyes. The young red swam forward, headed for the shore, his teeth clacking against each other. The water had gotten so cold in this recent month...
When Flame reached the bank he shook himself- both to warm up and get dry- and began wringing out his hair with both hands. This would probably be his last bath this season- before the water turned to ice. The red dragon had been taking special care of his appearance latley- ever since Pheobus had arrived. Flame did not appreciate all the attention the females were giving the tall gold...*
He's not so special... He just talks funny...
*Flame remarked to himself sourly.*

*After combing his hair out decently with his claws, Flame got up and started making his way back to the lairs. Surprisingly, he actually felt more like staying inside now that the cold had come. The red realized that maybe he should have paid more attention to the excavation and furnishing of his lair... Flame hadn't thought about winter when he'd just assumed he'd be outside more than in the lair. Maybe Xanth could lend him a hand...
As he walked, the red thought about the others... Everything felt different now... Flame knew it was because of what happened with the blue called Reet... He hadn't seen Celeste, or Kismet, or Roan recently... In fact- the only dragons he'd spent any time with were all draclings and his own children. The more he thought about it, the more Flame felt that something heavy in the atmopshere had dropped down amongst their little community... But what could it be?
He didn't feel any different... And now that Reet had been stopped and Celeste's wounds repaired, why did everyone still feel tense? As if they were all...waiting for something to happen...?*
