This thread is for RP occurring in the dead woods, on the northwest shore of Orchestra. They are creepy. eek
Huge, scraggily dead trees tower over grey ground. Rotting limbs litter the ground. A cliff drops down to the crashing ocean to the northwest. This forest has been dead for many years, before the dragons ever came to Orchestra. What could have uniformly killed this entire area?
Have fun!

*Pepper looked up and realized he had reached this part of the wood. He continued his walk and kept a watchful eye against enemies or a relic. The earth here he noticed was dry and powdery indicating that a fire might have passed through here at some point. In either case he surmised he might have some good finds here tonight. He had a feeling something was just around the corner so to speak. He drew his cloak tighter around himself, crouching down to see better and investigated a large hole in the root of one tree. Nothing was in the hole so Pepper stood again and continued his search.*

Near the center of the woods is a small clearing. There's nothing really special about it, surrounded on all sides by the same massive dead trees that make up the rest of the woods, the ground the same sickly shade of gray. The only thing to set it apart from a hundred other clearings just like it are the two piles of mangled bones near the center, and the large silver dragon busy digging a hole just alongside.
Once the hole was several feet deep the dragon jumped out, covered in smudges of dirt. Not bothering to tidy herself up, she walks slowly over to the piles of bones and kneels down next to them. "I'm sorry, I am, that I never knew to treat you right." She reaches out and touches the bones carefully, as if afraid they might break. "I didn't understand, no, why you went away when they all stayed." She runs her fingers over several deep claw marks in the bone. "You had no regrets, no, and for that I'm glad, I am. When I die I'll have no regrets either, I won't, then I'll meet you again." She smiles sadly. "I hope you'll be proud of me, yes..." With that, she begins carefully placing the bones in the hole, one by one.

*Pepper keeps walking , no, searching. He was driven for the need to unlock the past. He never knew his parents and had no memory of them. His feet had become covered by the earth and row by row the tree's did pass. He reached the edge of a clearing, almost walking by it, almost not noticing a silver dragoness busy with a task of some sort. He noticed a despairing sadness on her pretty features. He had never seen a silver before and was unsure what kind of personalities they had.
He wanted to remain cautious yet a strange curiosity befell him. Quietly he stepped closer but not to a point where he felt would be seen. She could be doing something private and he did not wish to interrupt, He would wait until she was finished and then slip away,. He only wanted to observe as he usually did, ever the researcher.

After gently setting the last of the bones in the hole, she climbs out once again and begins filling the hole in, a handful of dirt at a time. Her movements are slow and graceful, and even from a distance one can tell that what she is doing is of great importance. Once the hole is no more, she pats the dirt down softly with her clawed hands, and stands. She makes her way over to a tree at the edge of the clearing and reaches behind one of the huge roots, withdrawing a small bundle wrapped in leather and a handful of wildflowers, both of which she apparently brought with her when she came. She kneels down to set the items on the grave, then kisses her hand and presses it against the soil. "Rest well, yes..."

*He couldnt help but feel a sting of guilt, should he really be here watching her? The relics would not find themselves and those were clues, remnants of the past. wasnt that what he was supposed to be doing? He felt he was being a nosy dragon so he turned to go quietly, not noticing the tree root sticking out of the ground.*
Oomph!
*Though he was as quiet as he could he cursed his klutzyness. placing a hand up to his mouth blushing fiercely praying that he wouldnt be heard. He lay there for a few moments, frozen. He felt incredibly rude and being brown hoped it would be enough to camoflage him from those sad eyes.*

Her head lifted as she heard the noise and she stood up, turning her gaze in the direction the sound came from. She strolls over calmly, and finds a brown sprawled in the dirt. Raising her eyebrow, she gives him an amused look.

*Pepper, who's face was beet red, took his hand off his mouth, sat up, and looked at her with large eyes filled with humility and fear. He gave her a nervous apologetic look.*
Um. . . . . . hello? *Well thats a stupid thing to say as he mentally berated himself for having bothered her.* Please forgive me, I was p-passing through. *averted his eyes shyly*

She giggles, then sits down on a large tree root. "Hello. You look silly, yes, with your face all red." She lounges back with her tail resting across her lap, the bladed tip flicking back and forth lazily. "You don't need to ask for forgiveness, no. The woods aren't mine, no. You have right to be here as well." She takes a glance back to the center of the clearing before turning back to face him. "I'm Sylvarant, I am. You'll tell me your name, yes?"

You seeemed busy working so I dared not bother you. sweatdrop *Tries to overcome his shyness, she seemed a little intimidating but then again most of the others did as well.* Nice to meet you. *he tacked on, his brain still rattled from the fall, maybe the bump on his head was worse than he thought either that or his nerves were working overtime. He wished the ground would swallow him*

She smiles brightly. "It's nice to meet you Pepper, it is!" A concerned look comes over her face, and she puts a hand to his forehead. "You're still all red, you are. I think you might be sick, yes." She removes her hand and nods, as if agreeing with herself. "Kismet could make you better, yes. He made my Kweet better, he did."

Im f-fine. . .really *not wanting to cause a scene but having a feeling she would take him there anyway. He had not met Kismet yet but Kura had told him she worked with him. With any luck his adopted sister would be there. He fiddled with his glasses and remembered she had buried something. He did not know if it was a pet or a relative, whoever it was much have been very dear that had been obvious. however, interrupting someone who was grieveing was bad form. He hoped he would be forgiven for his error.*

She gives him a skeptical look, but doesn't protest. "You go on believing that, yes." She looked back at the clearing, then up at the sky. "I'm leaving now anyways, I am. You'll come too, yes?" She stretches, runs a hand through her hair. "I've done what I came to do, yes. I'll come back to visit them another day, I will." With that, she turns and starts walking around the huge trees, slowly enough that Pepper could catch up easily if he chooses.

*Meekly Pepper followed her, his cheeks still hot. He continued walking back with her to the infirmary. He did not feel anything was wrong, he felt otherwise fine other than slightly disappointed he had found no relics today. His head did not hurt that badly and he did not feel any swellings or bumps.*

After they walked for a short while, Sylvie grew tired of the silence. "So, Pepper, you have relatives here, yes? Or friends, yes?" She grins widely and cocks her head to the side. "I have nice friends, I do."
