Lately the lab had seemed to shrink, the close in around Donovan as if in attempts to crush the teenager, adding to the awkwardness of adjusting to life away from his family. True it had been his choice to move into the accommodation facilities, but even that knowledge hadn’t made the alteration any easier. This feeling had led Donnie to seek the wide open spaces that surround the lab, and it was in a said space the fae now found himself.

Seasonal flowers had already bloomed into life with the coming of spring, filling the air with a tantalising floral scent and the gentle hum of pollen dependant fauna. In the centre of the tree-ringed clearing sat Donovan, a heavy medical tome perched in his lap. His latest medical evaluation had highlighted that his innate powers relied upon the breadth and depth of his knowledge and, while he still held a great apprehension toward using his powers, Donovan thought it best to learn as much as possible in order to be prepared for any situation.

With a light sigh the page of the textbook was turned, dark eyes moving idly over the words and images upon. It was so quiet here, and in the lab, a marked difference from the constant clatter and clamour that had signified the Moncrieffe household – and something Donovan held mixed feelings towards. Previously he had sort the confines of his room to achieve silence, but the security of knowing he could return to the racket had been comforting. Shaking his head, sending shady locks fanning, Donovan forced himself to dispel the thoughts and return to his reading.

From within the field of flowers, the happy squeal of a child of perhaps 8-9 years came joyfully from amid a ring of daisies that she was so carefully making in her hands. The bee fae's wings beat with a soft buzzing as the scents and sounds of nature around her put the timid girl at peace. The giggle was result of a butterfly landing on her nose and it tickled, gosh darn it!

Tomoko finished the ring of flowers and held it in her left hand, which she had seemed to favor since she emerged from the jar some time ago. Shoulder length brown hair was swept back from a skin of goldenrod and pupiless eyes of dusty blue peered out from dark and curly lashes. Upon her body was a dress almost seemingly made for one's baby doll and was a deep red in color, mostly due to the roses it was made from.

Upon her crania, a crown of equally matching roses sat, almost as if to complete the image of the perfect little doll. Her annetene twitched as she more over heard Donovan, but one might think her deaf without ears to hear with.. well that was totally untrue. She also had a heightened sense of smell, keen as a bee looking for food. Speaking of which, she sucked the nector from a daisy in her right hand as she curiously approched Donovan and then stopped a few feet short of him, now curious about the fae. " Greetings sir." She greeted, a small curtsy of one raised with the upmost focus on manners and a bit of an British accent tinged the polite greeting.

Donovan looked up at the sudden, yet warm, greeting. He hadn’t heard Tomoko approaching and briefly wondered whether he was losing practice now that he wasn’t on the constant look out for his numerous siblings, but merely attributed the fault to his absorption in his readings. Closing the textbook with unspoken gratitude, Donnie regarded the girl before him with a curious expression. Although he had never met Tomoko before Donovan was quick to identify the winged girl as another fae; this revelation quickly followed with confusion as to what she was doing so close to the labs. As far as the teenager knew Shy wasn’t in the process of conducting any medical evaluations, and even if he were that would mean that the girl would be in the lab as opposed to the buildings surroundings.

“Greetings young miss” Donovan replied in his unusually quiet tone, using Tomoko’s formal greeting to gauge the etiquette he should adopt. Inclining his head briefly in response to his bow, the dark-skinned fae spoke once more. “May I enquire as to what brings you here? Younger fae such as yourself are usually only at the labs for check ups – are you lost?”. A slight frown tugged at the corner of Donovan’s lips as he waited for the girl to respond, wondering if it were even possible to miss the sight of the laboratory to become lost within the expanse of the forest.
