Marly-chan pulled out a pen and drew another tally mark on her wrist; counting up the marks she had made thus far. “Twenty days. It’s been twenty days since the killings had begun, and they were down to about the last fifteen or so people. She wasn’t sure; it wasn’t her first concern to be paying attention to those who were still alive. Marly just wanted to stay alive herself: this was her first and only goal.
She’d left the hotel and come outside about an hour ago, then promptly collapsed onto the ground in the middle of a field and watched clouds float by in the sky for a few hours. It was all she could think of to do for the time being…After all, no one would be able to catch the Sniper. It was inevitable. They’d all end up dead in the end.
“Excellent,” the Sniper exclaimed, suddenly appearing above her, seemingly out of nowhere. “So why delay?”
“Oh my god, I knew it all along~” Marly-chan exclaimed, recognizing the identity of the Sniper. “You’re—“
‘…Not dead,” the Sniper finished, and walked off, putting away the still-smoking gun.
Meanwhile, inside, the jailing went without a hitch.
