I think she has a country sound, yes. The newer country; not classic country.

Shes not exactly my cup of tea music wise, but she is more country than say Kid Rock... They are STILL trying to pass off that song 'Picture' as being country...YUCK!

shes not country IMHO... shes so much more pop struggling to become part of the country genre. *sigh* not that shes bad or anything, i just dont feel her as being someone i'd listen to when i pop in my "country mix" cd

I consider her country, yet I know the fact that I don't really have in betweens has its part. I like both country and pop, so her sound works for me. All through that season of American Idol I was hoping she would get it as well.

Yes. She is country and has a great voice for it. But sence she did win American Idol, her publisher people will probably make her sing other songs to.

She has the voice for country, and I think she wants to be country, but the people (who like aren't us) want her to be pop. That's just my opinion

I am not a big fan of her. Yes, she could be considered country, but not classic. She's a mix of country and pop. Closer to country.

what do you all think of her winning Female artist of the year at the CMA's?
I'm a fan of her's, but I'm not sure if she should have won over Faith Hill.
