For Christine, yes. He was perfect for Christine, in a way. Phantom should have had someone better than that psychotic teen who couldn't make up her mind. ;P
Raoul and Christine were both shallow, immature, indecisive and petulant. They make a perfect couple.
Oh! And in the book, Raoul was a much better character. He was more heroic and brave in the book..

I don't really understand Raoul-bashers. I mean, he's not that bad. And he did deserve Christine in a way, it's just that Erik needed her more.

Well, it depends on your viewpoint. If you dislike Christine, you probably like Raoul because he took the burden away from Erik. XD For the majority that love Erik, they dislike Raoul because he took away said burden from him. Either way, Christine is a burden, but I suppose that is not the topic of this thread.
Hmm...I have to say that I like the Vicomte. He's fun to roleplay, in any case. He's not flat out evil, and never had any intention to be evil, so it is sort of hard to hate him whole heartedly. He truely believed that Erik was a psychotic madman, and saved his sweetheart from him. There is nothing wrong with that, no matter how wrong some of us might think it is.

But I do like Raoul. His love for Christene had grown since childhood. It stayed true to her, even when he wasn't there.
