How to:

unfinished wood frame

unfinished wood stars (the craft store had lots of other shapes, too)

acrylic paint (I used red, white and black ala HorrorPops, but obviously you can use any colors you like)

ransom note-style letters cut from magazines

Paint the frame and wooden shapes in the colors of your choice and let dry. Glue the shapes to the frame. Using Modge Podge or other decoupage goo, decoupage the letters to the frame and let dry. Give the entire frame another coat of decoupage for shine.
