Ok well, I no longer have my n****e pierced but when I was about 19 I thought it was the greatest idea to pierce it. WRONG!! lol. So i'm wondering, if you had your n****e pierced and you took it out and let it grow over, were you still able to breast feed? I kick myself and wonder if I will be able to now that I'm pregnant. I'm so upset with myself for being so selfish as a teenager.

hmmm...i'm not intirly positive but if it would cause something like that to happen wouldn't the people at piercing places warn you first? That reminds me of something else. Isn't it true that if you have one of those lower back tatoos you can't get an epidural? Just a rumor i heard i gues.

From everything I've heard you're still able to BF. I have no piercings at all though, so I'm not speaking from personal experience.

If you look up breast feeding in a book or on the web you will see that the milk is produced in a LOT of milk ducts and that there are a lot of channels to get that where it needs to go - so unless it was a really big area that was pierced it will probably go well. I think that doing that for your baby is probably one of the most unselfish acts of love and bonding that you can give them - and it is good for both of you in LOTS of ways. Isn't it funny how many things we do when we are young and think it is "cool and exciting" that we regret later?

Just from a common sense angle, I assume it's still possible to BF. Like Ms Jo said, there are *lots* of milk ducts. Probably the big thing you'd have to worry about is getting infected milk ducts that were blocked over by scar tissue, and I doubt that happens often. Ask your doctor, of course, but I'm thinking it should be okay.

I'm a retired tattoo artist and piercer. My daughter just had a baby, and had piercings. All is doing fine. The baby's mouth should cover the entire areola, so it doesn't usually matter. Just make sure to wash before and after to avoid any infections, and soreness.

She told me a little joke that may ease everyone else's curiosity - she said that it squirts him in the eye . . . blaugh

Also, if you leak, don't waste $ on breast pads, use half of a sanitary pad.
