My logic is that Sega would never let their mascot character get such abysmal treatment of his games if there wasn't something seriously wrong. Not just with Sonic 2006, but with Heroes, ShtH, and the GBA port of the very first Sonic. It's been going downhill for a long time now, and we all hoped that Sonic 2006 would be the game that pulled them out of their nosedive... but instead, it was the game that crashed them into the ground. sega doesnt have the freedom they once had. sonic team needs to focus on selling games for the consoles and sonic is their best known property. also to develop a game for two system simultaneously (sic?) takes its toll.
but i agree it seems like it was rushed (to say the least) . emo
but its not dead its moribund at most. and where the heck is smile bit i havent heard from them after panzer dragoon orta. maybe a nice 360 title from smile bit will rekindle our spirits. like gun valkerye II or panzer dragoon orta rpg. i dont know anything surprize us.
sonic rush was fun though so i still have hopes for sega. especially for sonic.

I wouldn't say they've lost the ability to make good games so much as they've lost the desire to make good games. It's more important to them to get stuff out by Christmas in any form than to get it out good. It doesn't help that to Sega Sammy Corp videogames are now merely ~17% of the revenue of the overall company, and an underperforming 17% at that. Sega management have no appreciation for long term strategy, it eventually killed them in the console races, and now it's catching up with them as a third party too.

Sega still has Sonic Rush, Initial D Ver.4, and Outrun2SP as 'moderately recent' awesome games... but as for being a company as a whole, they've pretty much lost all form of sense.
It'll be interesting to see how Virtua Fighter 5 turns out though...

Mishimisa Sega still has Sonic Rush, Initial D Ver.4, and Outrun2SP as 'moderately recent' awesome games... but as for being a company as a whole, they've pretty much lost all form of sense. It'll be interesting to see how Virtua Fighter 5 turns out though... yeay thank you. vf 5 will be awesome i know it.

I kinda agree that this new Sonic game SUCKED.
I haven't even beaten it and I've had it for about 3 months.
It isn't addictive at all. It is glitchy as hell and for some levels (like the first level Rouge is in) are merely impossible to beat because of it.
Look, Sonic and Silver's gameplay was great, but ONLY IF YOU CAN GET PAST THE STUPID TOWN STAGES!!!
Those were the hardest parts! I'm stuck on them, too! emo
Most recent good Sega games:
Sonic Rush.
Ummmm... Sonic Riders.
Sonic Rivals (I haven't played it, but I know it has the same gameplay as Sonic 2 in 2P mode, which owned)
...The Genesis games up for download on the Wii. rofl
...I didn't know that I was supposed to get a PSP for half the price of an Xbox 360 and get Sonic Rivals. Hah! I'd sell my Xbox 360 if I didn't have Viva Pinata. sweatdrop

i am still a little upset over the name change. but sega is not dead. i love the company i love the games. and i will continue to support it for as long as i can.
