Students, who have fire based abilities, usually go to Mount Aso for intense training. Most students would go here or Beppu in Oita Prefecture to take a dip in the hot springs.

The academy is lotcated in Saga Prefecture, which is located on Kyūshū island, Japan. The capital is the city of Saga. (duh)

The academy is surrounded by forested lands, making it very dangerous to go out alone.

There also cities near by the Academy. (These are real cities) Student would go to these cities to visit family and friends. Just regular inactions with other people. To get away from magic. Some go just for shopping.
