Though I may not be well known, or maybe I am...shouldn't matter; I figured I should make it apparent of my departure. I can't say I'm quitting gaia, but I will be more focused on a....more perminant job.

Basically put, I've enlisted in the Navy, and in twelve day's I'll be shipping out for my 6 years of active, and 2 years of inactive duty. I highly doubt my chances of roleplaying with everyone, as I'd love to keep up with my friends and their rps. But as such, that may not be the case.

Basically put, I want to say this. I've enjoyed the, what, 3 years of being a member of gaia. I've met alot of people, participated in events and hade some fun rping and doing commissions for people. I'd like to have alittle bit more fun before my life get's a whole lot more serious. Anyone who might be interested in hearing about the endeavors of Boot camp, and life in the Navy, let me know and I'll add you to my friendslist, as I'll be updating my journal whenever I get the chance. And worst comes to worse, when gaia dies, which I'm doubtful it will, I'll make sure to provide my email address, so you can drop off some lines or whatever.

For many fun years on Gaia...

Kage Tsukuyomi, aka Anthony Micheal McGowan (And yes, my middle name is spelled that way...XD )

Well, sorry to see you go, but I'm just wondering, why enlist in the Navy?

There's still a chance of going, but I have a lesser chance of going then a soldier in the Army or Marines. If chose to become a medic, however, my a** would be in Iraq to assist the Marines. Medics are in short supply..>>

That's a given at any point in time. I can see the logic behind your choice.

Wish you the best of luck and hope you stay safe. The marines have been calling me even on my cell phone trying to come by. If I didnt have a choice to go into service or not I would try for air force or the navy. Cause like you said less likely to be a soldier.

And I would like to hear how boot camp and everything goes.

Yeah, after enlisting, the Marine's finally decided to send me some mail...xD

Took 'em long enough, huh?

But yeah, when I get the chance, whenever it is, I'll update my journal and make it public so anyone can access it. So if you're lucky I'll be able to tell you guys, and girls, what boot camp is like..xD

If I were in that situation I'd opt for the Air Force myself. Not because I'd have hopes on not going though. Go or not I'd still be flying jet fighter planes & that is pretty sweet.

Best of luck in the Marines, Kage. I've known friends that have went into the military but oddly enough many of them made it through bootcamp. Two was discharged due to stress-related issues & another for a physical condition.

I wish you the best Kage! Actually, I have a friend in the Marines right now, someone who I hadn't seen in a few years before finding out his enlistment. He says it (Boot Camp) wasn't terrible, but there were those days.

All in all, I salute you for your service in our fine armed forces, and hope to see you around again. 3nodding

@Naito: From what I've learned the Marines boot camp is actually the longest of all of the military branches. For the Navy boot camp is only 8 weeks, the Marines boot camp is about 16 weeks, big difference, huh?? XD

@ Everyone: Thank you very much for the support. I really appreciate it, and it's always good to know that even my online buddies have my back. Unfortunately I'm very sick atm. I was trying to complete my PT Test and ended up puking in the middle of the mile and a half run. Even now I'm still sick, and I'm stuck drinking water and Pepto-Bismol once an hour....

I'm hoping this wave of sickness will go away very soon, 'cause I honestly hate being sick. scream

I'd wish you the best of luck if recruit training was any difficult. It is really not at all that difficult. I mean all you have to do is just do as they say. Don't be all machismo with everyone. Work with them even if they don't with you. You're going to have to speak in a whole different manner but its really easier than it seems. You can pick it up in no time so long as you remember to speak in the third-person and not speak to your petty officer in a direct manner, ie, "This recruit requests permission to speak to Petty Officer ________" if you want to speak or ask for something such as using the "head" (bathroom). And always ask questions if you don't know or are uncertain of something ("this recruit requests knowledge, sir"). That's what they are there for.

Really though, probably the most difficult part of recruit training is trying not to laugh at your petty officer. I mean yeah they're yelling their heads off but they get crazy and do some pretty funny stuff (like the time my DI had to jump up and down just to yell at my face). So you will have to do your best to maintain a straight face.

Its really not a all hard, its just having to wait through the whole 8 weeks. Just be patient and you'll make it through.

Well everyone, this is it. My last day as a civilian. I've been packing up my stuff all morning and I'm finally taking a ramen break. I'll be shipping out tommorrow morning around 10 in the morning. And once again, I thank you all for the support. I'll either pm anyone on my friendslist so you know how I'm doing, or if/when I can, I'll come to update this thread if Aonice is willing to keep it around for me.^^;;

But yeah, I'm sure some of you will be missing Tsuin and Kurai...who knows...

When I can, I'll be making some random guest appearances but yeah, they'll be rather minute until everything is said and done. Hell if I'm lucky I could get daily access again, and that'd be entertaining for sure.....xD

Blah ha...xD

Miss me? Actually I'm on temporarily at a USO station just to let you all know I'm still alive and kicking. Yesterday I ended up going on a long, and tiring ride over to Cleveland Ohio to stay the night at one of the nicest hotels I've been to that is supposrted by the military. I had to wait a good hour just to get my room since The MEPS lady wasn't in...DX

But other than that I hung out in my room until my roomie arrived. We lingered around bullshitting about life until we ordered some food around 17:30 (aka 5:30). We thought they would deliver it, but we ended going back down to grab it ourselves..our meals were waiting diligently within a metal cover, and perched on a plastic tray.

After enjoying a delicious/free meal, I ended up going to bed around 7, only to wake up at 3:30 since some ******** set the alarm clock one hour early...DX

I spent from 5am to 1pm at the MEPS station verfying the data and contracts that I had signed. I swore in the second and final time, swearing that I was there to stay...and then after receiving a huge assed envelope containing all of my data I was sent off to the air port, where we've been waiting for about 2 hours now...and we have a couple more until we finally board our plain. I should be departing for the training base in Illinois around five or six...and by then, I might end up maintaining internet silence until February...so until then...xD

Miss me? Yes yes, I'm still alive. Actually I just graduated boot camp. I'm lingering around in boredom since my family never came for me. So I decided to pitch a couple bucks to send you all a brief message.

Boot camp was fun for the most part, and yes, firearms training was fun as hell. I qualified as a sharpshooter with an M9A1 Beretta, and a Mossberg 500...it was fun...XD

If you have some questions....ask away and I'll answer what isn't sensitive to my security clearance...xD
