Jospeh walked around the fortress of the light as many others ran by, to battle, to death. what is the rush? he thought, but that was not a decision for him to choose. Sakura he stuck out his arm to stop the 15-year-old Water-Elemental passing by, towards the library. why are you alone, you should not be permitted to wander a such an hour, it is almost two o'clock am I was going to see Arrna and why at this time? I'm supposed to warn her about the evils supposedly in an athame she took off a demon I had better come with you

A large black bird crowed loudly as it passed Edana, screaching loudly as if it was offended by her presence so near to it's home. It circled the old city hall building one more time before entering the nest it had made behind a gargoyle on a nearby perch. She rolled her eyes when it glared at her and pecked angrily at it's nest then entertained the idea of roasting it just for spite.
"Edana! Shouldn't you be getting ready for the fight?!" A young man called from below her as he looked up to see her sitting on the high perch with her legs dangling on either side as if she were a child sitting high in a tree.
"I'm already prepared!" She called while laying down to look at him. "Although if you would like me to work on my aim I'm always up for a challenge!" She teased, holding out one hand and summoning fire that creeped around her arm in a spiral then dripped lazily from her fingertips towards the youth below.
He jumped and moved out of the way, cursing her and shouting about going to tell a general. "Oh...because they'll really care..." She muttered while sitting up again, becoming bored with the boy. "You were sent out here to find me?" She asked when the boy didn't leave her be.
His only response was a glare in her direction as he waited for her to come down. "Alright alright! Don't get your panties in a wad Carrick!" She called as she stood and reentered the building, quickly making her way down the stairs and out of the front door.
"Thank you." He seethed in a taught voice while turning to lead her back to where everyone was gathered. "Honestly Edana...you should stay with the group. You act as if you are an upper-level and can do what you want!" He scolded, Edana walking behind him so that she could mock him.
"And what makes you think that I won't be? I'm still young and if you hadn't noticed my powers are getting much stronger. It's only a matter of time..."
"Time? Edana even if you're skill powers WERE upper-level they would never promote you! You are FAR too unreliable! Always running off on your own and leaving everyone else to stop what they're doing to come search for you..."
"Did I ASK you to come search for me? I was perfectly fine where I was! It's not like you really missed me anyways!" She growled to Carrick then stopped when she felt someone come to walk behind them in the dark streets.
"Oh but we DID miss you Edana. Why do you think we sent Carrick after you?" A deep voice breathed down her neck.
Chills shot up her sping and she ceased her steps, fearing what Blake had planned as punishment for her. "Because the others were to busy figuring out how to lace their shoes?" She asked as bravely as she could.
By this time Carrick had dismissed himself and disappeared within one of the main buildings so he wouldn't have to witness whatever punishment Edana had in store. An abysmal laugh came from the chest of Blake at her comment, the feeling of dred he sent out becoming more frightful in the still night air.
"That is why we have given them shoes with buckles!" He responded as he walked past Edana, the order to follow him wherever he went not needing to be said as she creeped along just beside him.

Arrna sat in the library, her newly acquired trinket lay on the table next to her. Several books were scattered around her next to it, three of them opened, talking of curses or traits bestowed to magical items of the darker races.
She sighed, flipping the page of the book she read. She was having trouble diciphering the incantations. She picked up the object, her thumb running over the top of it. Now that she had hold of it, it seemed no more than a symbol, meant to be worn about the wrist, making it easily accessible, should they need it.
So obsorbed with studying it, she didn't notice any of the acolytes or other elementals rushing through the library on whatever task they were required. If they honestly needed her they would locate her. On top of that, if it were that important, someone would stop to freak out about it to her. As it was, neither situation occured and she was allowed to continue to study for the moment.

As it was, neither situation occured and she was allowed to continue to study for the moment. Jospeh walked in with Sakura at his heels Arrna, I need to see that knife. he went to a row of books and pulled one out at the very top shelf. this should shed some light on the situation, the weapons of evil. let me see the athame, I need to tell wether it is the dragonfang,
, or the dragon athame,
my own is made in honor of a dragon, Eos, mother of winds(actually a greek goddess) he flipped a few pages it must be the dragon, not the fang, it says here that, in the case of a fire Athame, it is likely to either disintagrate, return to its owner, or, worst possibility, transfrom into a weeker version of the dragon for which it was created... well that sucks, anyways, Sakura yawned, I should get to bed. she quickly hightailed it away...

The forest seemed deeper and more menacing as Blake led Edana farther and farther within their borders. "Where are you planning on taking me?" She asked after a few more moments of following him silently.
"We're almost there." He responded then motioned for her to go infront of him when they reached a clearing.
She sighed heavily and did as he ordered, every muscle in her body ready to respond to what he was going to throw at her. Unconciously she reached for the sword on her thigh just incase she needed to deflect the blow. "Now that we're here what do you want?" She almost growled, refusing to face him for fear of what would happen.
"We're going to work on your dodging skills." He stated while continuing to stand just within the treeline.
A large cracking sound caught Edana's attention and she immediately drew her sword and spun to face him just as he let fly a large lightning ball. She turned the blade so that the flat side would take the brunt of the blow. "Damn!" She growled as the ball flew into pieces and a few of the bolts hit her.
Before she could recover another ball was coming her way. She jumped up into the air, this time managing to twist just enough so that it missed her by a few centimeters. "You're going to have to get better than that!" Blake shouted with an evil smirk on his face.
When she hit the ground she used the sword to lean on for a few moments then spinning to the side as another lightning ball came her way. "Would you rather me attack you then just dodge SIR?" She called while continuing to jump and twist with every attack, the word sir dripping with sarcasm.
"Well...that might make me stop now wouldn't it?!" He asked as he continued to summon ball after ball with no real sign of weakness from it.
Edana faltered and took a hit on her side, sending her soaring backwards and onto the ground. Blake made no motion to cease his barrage because of her injuries but instead summoned a much larger ball of energy so it would almost be impossible for her to avoid it.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she managed to sit up slightly and see the next attack, holding the gaping would on her side with one hand as she grabbed her sword with the other. I'm never gonna block that...She thought then tried to move but found the pain too much for her.
Blake's laugh filled the air as he saw her cringe while she once again tried to stand, this time managing to balance on unsturdy legs. After just another moment he released it and turned to walk back...assuming that she would die and his problems with her would be over.
She squeezed her eyes shut as tightly as she could, waiting for the searing pain to course through her but instead felt a strong frame bump into her. "What the -" She began then looked up to see Blake grab hold of her and keep her up.
"Did you just shimmer?" He asked, holding her up as she passed out from the pain.
He stood with her for a few moments then picked her up and carried her bridal style back to his own quarters. "We might have use for you yet." He breathed as he watched her amulet flicker a black swirl through the marroon and burgundy.

Arrna allowed Joseph to take the weapon. She watched him silently, allowing him to take the weapon from her and flip through the book. She watched him, at first not saying a word, her normal response.
When he identified the weapon she reached out and took it from him again. She studied it a little closer and frowned. Why she hadn't recognized it before frustrated her a little, but she pushed it aside. At least she knew what it was now.
"In the case of fire..." She muttered, flipping it over in her hand. "Not an easy thing to avoid in every battle. Especially not a war such as one we're facing. I'd like to study it a little more in a few of the labs, in this case, before it's allowed to be used by anyone." She stood, stacking the books she'd taken so that the acolytes could put them back. She kept four of them separate, including the one Joseph had taken from the shelf.
"Would anyone mind if I were to experiment on it as long as it is carefully monitored and there is no potential for harming others?" She turned her eyes to Joseph, picking up the books she'd selected to keep.

Back in the forest, Viaka has watched the battle between Blake and Edana in the safety of a hidden bough. To be frank, it looked more like a brutal punishment. She wondered what that Edana had done now to deserve such a beating. The fireheads were always quite impulsive to do something so reckless. Even though they were worthy allies, they were exactly like their element; intense and going in whatever direction it pleased. They destroyed life and did care who or whatever was in the way. They were like poison to her children, the trees, the shrubs and flowers.
She watched as Blake made his way to the tree she rested in. She picked up the ivory pan flute that was strapped to her side and played a simple note. The tree followed the command given to it and bowed its branch towards the ground. Viaka made her way down, just above Blake's head. She sat down at the branch's end and spoke to him. "Good day to you Blake. I see you and... Edana are doing well. If you two must quarrel can you please do your best not to disturb the forest so much?"

Blake stopped as he almost reached the forests edge, not bothering to look up at Viaka when she came to sit just above him. "I will destroy what I must in order to give the correct punishment." He said in his usual whisper.
In his arms Edana groaned lightly and tried to wake, stirring just a little then opened her eyes to see Blake carrying her then fell back into her slumber. He glanced down at her for a moment before looking back up towards the buildings and his own quarters in the distance. "Go summon the witch and bring her to my quarters." he ordered, beginning forwards again and not stopping until he had entered his room.

Zephyr walked up behind Arna, reaching over her shoulder to take a few of the books from her. "I don't think that should be a problem." He told her in his gentle tone as he moved to stand infront of her so that he could look into her eyes. "Would you mind terribly if I watched your experiments. I give you my word I will not be a bother." He guaranteed then bowed slightly as a sign of respect, a few strands of his white hair falling into his face.

Once he was in his room he turned back towards the door and cast a quick shadow over the door and then the walls so that none could see what was going on within his walls. After he was satisfied that his spell would stay in place he walked over to his bed and layed Edana down, rolling her off onto the bed then rolling her onto her back. "You are definitely not disappointing..." He breathed while sitting next to her on the bed so that he could pick off the pieces of cloth that had become part of her flesh with the hits of lightning.
"I try not to be." She groaned when she woke up, her amber eyes glancing down at the wounds as he did his best to clean them before the witch got there. "Where am I?" She asked then tried to sit up.
"You are in my quarters." was all that he said while continuing to do what he could for her.
"Hmm? What? You try to kill me then bring me back so you can have fun with me?" She teased as she fought wincing from the pain.
Blake looked up at her and smirked. "You are not that lucky yet Edana." He stated then stood to go get some water to clean her wounds.
"Yet?" She asked while leaning against his bedrest and watching him go.
A rarely heard laugh eminated from deep within his chest as he returned. "Well you are attractive Edana...and if we could just teach you how to control your newly emerging powers then you might be suitable...as long as you learn how to obey me." He said then sat next to her and began to clean her wounds with the water.
"Ha! Obey you?! I can barely stand you Blake!" She chimed, grititng her teeth as he got a little rougher with her. "Could you be a little more vicious?!" she snapped while grabbing his hand and pulling it from her.
His eyes trailed up to hers as he squeezed her hand tightly until it hurt her. "Well if you would like me to be." He stated, his smirk widening into a never before seen smile.
She winced and reached her free hand up to burn his chest. "Just because you're a general doesn't mean I won't attack you!" She seethed while leaning in dangerously close to his face, trying to hold in a wince as the pain coarsed through her.
