I hate the fact that disney seems to have run out of ideas and is just making pour sequels the the awesome original like toy story, lion king, the little mermaid, beauty and the beast etc. Even the new movies like ice age already have sequels. What do you think? has disney run out of ideas? gonk crying

It's not just Disney, everybody has run out of ideas, that's why every movie now is either: a sequel, an adaptation, or a remake
I thank the heavens that Robin Hood, Pinocchio, and Oliver & Company haven't gotten sequels yet
edit: Toy Story 2 and Lion King 2 were pretty good if you ask me

Ya true but disney did do a pinocchio tv special which really sucked so i still think that kinda counts. I didn't really like lion king 2 and they went too far with lion king one and a half but i thought the alladin movies were pretty good. Did you know that alladin is modelled after Tom Cruise's face. Just an interesting tidbit.

Ice Age isn't Disney...o.O It's Blue Sky....
But yeah, I'm not a fan of Disney sequels. For the most part I just pretend they don't exist... sweatdrop Although I own a few....

I collect all the Disneys movies, but I don't spend money on the sequels. If I get them as a gift, than I really don't complain! But in my opinion the sequels are never that good! (except Alladin) Like Bambi 2, I really didn't like it.

I thought Toy Story 2 was arguablly better, or as good as, Toy Story.
Also, the sequal to Peter Pan wasn't all that bad either.

I didn't think the other movies to Beauty and the Beast were sequels. I thought they were just other Beauty and the Beast movies. Wouldn't they say Beauty and the Beast 2? Also, The Little Mermaid 2 is just as good as The Little Mermaid.

Well you wont have to worry about them much longer. Cinderella 3 and the Little Mermaid 3 are the last two DTV sequels Disney will release.

If that's true, that's the best news i've heard all day , although little mermaid 3 would technically be part of a trilogy. biggrin

Also, The Little Mermaid 2 is just as good as The Little Mermaid. that's true, i suppose you can't really call it a sequel if it doesn't move forward but then they did make that idiotic lion king 1 and a half that didn't really progress in anyway yet.........actually i don't know what you would call that one since it's not technically a sequel at all and was made after the second movie and i thought little mermaid two was okay but there was too many things that were copied from the original from the movie to really be able to stand on it's own in my opinion.

The sequels can never outshine the original.. Disney do sequels not because they're out of idea of a story.. maybe they don't want to create a new character as so on that's why they do sequels..
I watched 'em sequels but i prefer the original story 4laugh
