A Tip a Day Keeps Poverty Away
Daily Chance Gold-Earning-Tip ... It's my version of the Daily Chance 3nodding . Lots of people in their join requests mentioned wanting tips & advice on how to make more gold, & this guild really doesn't have enough of that.
So, everyday I'll be posting one tip on earning gold. I'm going to try & be diverse with the tips; some will be more "obvious" & "newbie oriented", & some will [hopefully] be somewhat "unique" & helpful to everybody.
If you have any good gold-earning tips, PM them to me, & I'll send you a small little something as a reward 3nodding

Jan 14, 2007 Today's Tip
( from rio ) Dont sell your holiday items. Its just a small suggestion, but like Kayla has said before, the event items are to be kept and then sold at a later date when they are MUCH more valuable. The spirited set from last year went up 20,000 k in one day over this christmas. Neat huh ?

Archives Dec. 16, 2006 Did you fail to purchase any Sealed Envelopes, but are now craving a Flame Sword or two? Feel like you've just got to have a giant White Rose on your head, or that that Elemental Hair is just too cool to resist buying? Well, it all will still be just as cool towards the end of December, when the prices go way down & you can easily purchase it for much cheaper. Being a little bit patient & saving yourself a few thousand gold on the "Monthly Collectables", now that's cool! Dec. 10, 2006 Don't purchase tokens from Gold Mountain; purchase them from the marketplace instead. Yeah yeah, I know, it's more convinient & all that if you just pay 1g per token at Gold Mountain; but purchasing them at the marketplace isn't too unconvinient either. Tokens are, as I'm sure you know, very commonly given in the Daily Chance. Lots of people don't play Casino games, & don't know much of anything about tokens, & don't care. So they accumulate a bunch via the daily chance, & then people decide to sell them. Often times people charge way more for tokens than they're worth; but, often times people charge less than 1g per token, too (for example, 800 tokents for 750g). Offers like that go fast, so you probably want to have your password copied so you can just paste it in to purchase the tokens instead of having to waste time typing it (yes, that small amount of time can matter!) If you don't see a good offer, keep refreshing the page. People throw tokens into the vend all the time; you wont have to wait very long.Dec. 9, 2006After fishing, check the marketplace for the average prices of fish. Before you sell, however, go to the fishin shop and check what prices Logan will give to sell them. Sometimes its better to trade them in to Logan than it is to sell them on the marketplace. (FROM SILVERWULFE)Dec. 6, 2006The Ultimate Referral Contest -- 20,000g !! ... 'nough said.Dec. 5, 2006Posting, voting in polls, sending PMs, commenting on profiles, "surfing", commenting in the arenas, voting in the arenas... these are all things where you make the most gold from them the first time you do them each day. The gold you earn for doing each of them goes down the more you do it, & pretty soon you're getting practically nothing from the aforementioned "activities". A "mule" is a second account, essentially. Make a mule account, buy it a trading pass (this shouldn't be hard at all since you start the game with 400g, + Moria's quest. With two accounts, you can get the [relatively] large amounts of gold they give per "activity" each day... twice! For posting & voting, go to the chatterbox & bump random threads & vote in random polls. For the arenas & "surfing", same thing as you'd do on your primary account. For PMs, I'd recommend sending jibberish PMs to your primary username (PMs that you can just delete once you sign back onto that account). For commenting on profiles, find random people (it's easy!), view their profile, & compliment them on something. Oh, & don't forget to click on all the tabs at the top of the page to get another 6 things from the Daily Chance. Whenever you choose, send all the stuff you've collected on your mule account to your primary account, & there ya go, you're richer biggrin (This isn't "cheating" or against TOS.)Dec. 4, 2006The Gaia ExchangeA wonderful alternative to the marketplace -- for buying items; not so much for selling them. Before buying rare/donation items, & especially Sealed Envelopes & Thank You Letters, always check the exchange first! The exchange specialises in selling rare/donation items for below market price (aka, the price that the same item costs in the marketplace). Actually, it's like an unspoken rule that you must sell items below the marketplace price. In addition to that, you can haggle, & you can usually pay for items with gold + other items, or just item(s) for item(s). But STAY AWAY from the exchange if you don't know what you're doing. Always have tektek.org open so you can quickly look up the current market price of everything relevent. & always expect the seller to want a little more than your first offer. Example of what the exchange is like: yesterday I sold, among other items, a Chestplate of Arachne in the exchange. The marketplace price of that item yesterday according to TekTek was 21k. Someone offers to pay 17.5k for it. I reply saying "19k?". They reply saying "18k". I reply saying "18.5k". He says "okay". Terminology -- words used in the exchange that you need to know: Pure = Gold Commons = Items that aren't donation items or rare items; items from Gaia stores or Towns. Uncommons = Items found in Enchanted Trunks Rares = Items found in Pink or Blue Boxes (the items themselves, not the boxes) Sealeds = Sealed Envelopes TO = Taking Offers MP = Market Price AB = Absolute Buy; if you offer the AB price you'll get the item no matter what, & wont have to worry about people making better offers than you.

A suggestion for your mule: I use my mule like a savings account. Mine is currently holding gold for the Secret Santa game. That way, I don't "accidentally" spend it on a cool new outfit. When you have to sign into your mule account, start the trade, sign out, sign into your main acount accept the trade, etc....it atleast gives you reason to pause and reflect; do I really want this item that bad to take away my savings?

heres a tip for using mules: use one browser for one of them (eg. firefox for shadow2lightning)
and use a different one for the other (eg. internet explorer for shadow2bolt)
sign in as u would normally do and there u have it, both of ur accounts signed in to make things easier
