Strength:Maximo is strong enough to cut clean through tree stumps, steel, stone and armour when putting effort into his swing. Maximo can wield his heavy hammers while loaded down with armour and still have surprising agility and speed with them allowing him to quickly take down hordes of enemies even when loaded down with armour, his shield and his hammer. With all of this on he is still able to preform the above feats of cutting through stone walls etc... or smashing opponents among other things with one of his large hammers. Maximo can stop a sea serpent the size of a submarine dead in it's tracks with a toss of his shield or hold the creature off with his sword. hammer. He is able to knock a giant robot bird the size of a house face first into the ground with a downward strike of his sword. Robots standing in at about 9-10 feet and basically walking tanks pose no serious threat to Maximo. He can slash such monsters to bits and ask for more. All in all I'd say Maximo is about 5-10 ton class strength. I'll take others opinions on that if it seems inaccurate.
Speed: Maximo is not the fastest guy around, his leg speed is comparable to a jog and not too impressive. When using the Mighty blow etc... Maximo lunges forward in a burst of speed. In one of Maximo's combo's he preforms the doubly slash and then stabs his sword forward several times so fast it appears he has three blades for a brief moment. He is capable of raising his shield fast enough to block lightning and bullets among a variety of other attacks. So while he can't run too fast his reflexes are pretty nice.
Durability/Endurance:Maximo can take hits from Giant monsters, robots and even get shot and still have health to spare. His Durability lies in his health having levels to it. When he loses all the health on one level he gets knocked down a notch.
Level one has Maximo reduced to boxer shorts.
Level two has Maximo in clothes and chest armour.
Level three has Maximo along with his chest armour and clothes he has a helmet to match.
Level four Maximo has Glorious golden full body armour with a helmet and mask.
Endurance Maximo can fight off dozens of Zin warriors, fight thier king Bane and defeat him while fighting his minions at the same time and then defeat his arch nemesis Achillie, all without slowing down a bit. Until he dies Maximo just doesn't stop moving.
Intellect: Maximo is no fool, he can figure out how to solve complicated puzzles and death traps. Such as hitting stones that are no where near eachother with his hammer to cause them to rise and fall until they are alligned in a manner where he would be able to hop on them and escape. Jumping along diagonal pillars that retract once the one in front of them pops out and then having to find out how to vertically hop along said pillars. Hitting several crystal bells to send a frequency into the air powerful enough to shatter a crystal wall and so forth.
Fighting Skill: The techno genius Tinker described Maximo as the Ultimate warrior. His style seems to consist of powerful and quick blows that overwhelm the enemy. With this style Maximo has braved hordes of re-animated skeletons of soldiers and pirates, ghosts, zombies, poisonous plants, giants, and so forth. Maximo is able to hold his own against and even defeat the Baron who's family trained for generations to protect the great vault of Hawkmoore.
Techniques/Powers: Maximo only has one summon which he must have a full spirit meter for. He can Summon the Grim Reaper himself to fight for him. Grim is noticeably faster than Maximo and also immune to all forms of damage behind immortal. Once Grim is summoned Maximo disappeared and Grim takes over cutting down all of Maximo's foes. After a certain amount of time depending on how many spirits Maximo has Grim disappears.
~Sword Techniques~
Sword Slash: Maximo slashes his blade once. This attack isn't the greatest and only a basic combat maneuver.
Overhead Slash: Similar to the sword slash this attack brings the sword over head to cleave opponents in half.
Double Slash: Maximo swings his sword whether or not the first slash is blocked be prepared because another one is coming very quickly. This attack is nice against opponents that like to block.
Downward Strike: This is a very powerful attack where Maximo leaps high into the air and then brings his sword down, doing a great deal of damage to the opponent on impact. Upon impact this attack also releases a shock wave doing double damage if the swords hit you in the first place. If the sword missed the shock wave will almost definitely hit you.
Mighty Blow: This attack thrusts the sword forward with enough force to knock an enemie (s) back and do critical damage.
Piercing Blow: This attack thrusts the sword forward in a manner similar to the mighty blow. But their is one major difference. When using the piercing blow, Maximo's front is encased by phantom blades when this attack hits an opponent the damage is considerable. Couples with the Flame tongue sword causing the blades to become fiery this attack is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Whirling Blades: Maximo spins at 360 degrees with his sword held outwards. This attack excels at dealing with multiple enemies and when surrounded. It pushes enemies away from you and does a nice amount of damage at the same time. While rotating it's almost as if Maximo's blade extends to the eye. This is a result of the sword emitting the phantom blades as it spins giving a further radius of reach.
Ring of Pain: Similar to the downward strike Maximo leaps high into the air and brings his sword down, doing damage with the sword and shock wave. However this attack differs. Upon impact phantom blades burst out of the ground on all of Maximo's sides doing alot of damage to the opponent. This attack is only possible with the Flame Tongue Sword and is amazing at weakening if not killing hordes of strong enemies.
Fire Doomstrike: This is the ultimate attack of Maximo's swords. Like the Downward Strike and the Ring of pain Maximo leaps into the air and brings his sword down. Only this time it summons the destructive power of the fiery inferno releasing it on all sides and incinerating all enemies caught within it's radius.
~ Hammer Techniques~
Mighty Drill: Maximo thrusts his hammer forward and the head of it begins to spin so Maximo can grind his way through his foes. Like the mighty blow this attack does a pretty good amount of damage.
Punishing Drill: Like the mighty Drill Maximo thrusts his hammer forward causing the head to spin. This time however the head is encased in phantom energy taking the form of a drill head, to pulverize enemies. The damage received from this attack would be pretty much anyone would remember.
Crushing spin: Maximo spins at 360 degrees to smash surrounding enemies. When used with Bleak Forge it freezes and smashes into opponents simultaneously, leaving enemies unable to defend themselves as they are tenderized until defeated. This attack as stated before works well when surrounded by enemies and gives Maximo some breathing room at the same time.
Quake Shot: Maximo leaps into the air and uses the downward strike on the opponent, shattering the earth at the opponents feet and causing a tremor so violent that it actually sends a wave of earth crashing towards the enemy. When used with bleak forge it freezes the opponent and sends a wave of ice surging through their body at the same time. Doing a nice amount of damage, this attack is good for harming your opponent, disabling them and giving yourself time to break or think of what else you want to do.
Ice Doomstrike: This attack is Maximo's most powerful hammer based attack. He does the downward strike at the ground, hitting the opponent with the hammer and shock wave and also summoning the frigid fury of the blizzard blast. This hails down on the opponent(s) from the sky destroying everything hit by it. What makes this attack so dangerous is that the blast foes not specify on one place to strike. It simply falls from the sky striking at random. Maximo is unharmed by this but his opponent(s) feel the effects and awesome power of this attack.
~Shield Techniques~
Blocking: Maximo holds his shield out blocking enemy attacks.
Shield throw: Maximo hurls his shield at an opponent for one strike. Nice for making someone losing their balance and then going in for the gold.
Midas Aura: Maximo holds his shield out in blocking stance and a magnetic like aura is released from his shield causing precious items, treasure, spirits etc... to come to Maximo without the need for walking up to them. The aura is also released from the shield when it is thrown.
Spark Aura: When using the spark aura Maximo takes his blocking stance. When the opponent strikes the shield they are hurt instead of Maximo and receive a nasty shock to their person. Enemies can also be zapped when Maximo throws his shield at them. This is pretty good for letting your opponent defeat themselves.
Mighty Throw: Maximo throws his shield an incredible distance perfect for using in combo with the midas or spark auras, to either retrieve unreachable items or strike unreachable opponents. At will Maximo can make the shield hover in one spot for an unlimited amount of time.
Ricochet: The shield becomes a homing weapon that hits multiple opponents in one s**t. A nice little trick that comes in handy when you're out numbered. In combination with a spark aura you can deep fry a number of opponents with but one toss of the shield.
Gear:
Parilla: Maximo's sword that has been in his family for generations. This sword is unbreakable and comes in handy for latching on to edges and hoisting yourself up. Not the most impressive weapon in the world but this sword definitely gets the job done.
Hammer of Heroes: This hammer can only be wielded by the greatest of warriors. Not only does it smash the opponent but upon impact with the ground it sends tremors causing small earthquakes. Perfect for doing damage and knocking opponents off of their feet.
Flame Tongue: The fire of this burning blade does more damage than Parilla. Upon swinging the sword the Flame tongue releasing blazing fire that cuts and burns enemies at the same time. Flame tongue is also capable of unleashing magical attacks.
Bleak Forge: One strike of this frozen mace freezes enemies in their tracks, trapping them in a giant block of ice and leaving them unable to move for a brief amount of time. Not only can this mighty hammer freeze, but it does more damage than the hammer of heroes and is also able to release frigid fury with magical attacks.
Iron Shield: This shield is made out of iron and is capable of defending by blocking attacks for only a small amount of time.
Silver Shield: This shield is made out of silver and can hold off enemies for an increased amount of time, lasting longer than the basic iron shield.
Gold Shield: This is the ultimate shield capable of lasting for a long time especially with Super Meter up grades. This glorious golden shield is impenetrable and excellent for dealing with high level opponents.
Heart Boxers:Given to Maximo by his love, Sophia, they are a reminder to our hero that he is always in her heart
Magic Pow Boxers: The Super Meter recharges at a faster rate while wearing these stylish shorts.
Treasure Seeker Boxers: These boxers alert Maximo by vibrating with they detect nearby buried treasure.
Armored Boxers: These Boxers are the key to obtaining the Golden Armor. Collect a fourth armor pick up while wearing these shorts to gain more health and golden armor.
Boxers of Burning Vigor: Down to your Boxers? No fear! These will recharge and regenerate your Super meter, but only while unarmored.
Death Koin: When he dies Grim brings Maximo back to life for the cost of a koin.
Notes: A good deal of Maximo's abilities drain his Super meter which is measures as shield power as well. However with the gold shield and super meter upgrades this is a minor set back only.
History: The story begins with the valiant Maximo returning from a great war, only to find that his once trusted advisor, Achille, has taken over his throne and is forcing Sophia, Maximo's love interest, to marry him. Achille defeats Maximo in combat through use of dark magic, sending the hero to the underworld. During his descent into the nether realm, Maximo meets up with Grim. Grim reveals that Achille is building a massive drilling device which has the power to exhume the souls of the dead from the underworld. This is, naturally, in conflict with Grim's business interests, which lie with the retention of souls, not their release.
Grim agrees to bring Maximo back to life if he promises to retrieve the lost souls. As proof of their contract, Grim gives Maximo a death token, which allows Maximo to return to life even when he is defeated in battle. Grim tells Maximo that there is only one way that he will be able to save his kingdom and defeat the evil Achilles: he must find and rescue the four Sorceresses..
After reuniting the sorceresses, Maximo finally has the power to defeat Achille. He heads back to his kingdom to finally put an end to the reign of the evil wizard and to save his true love Sophia. Maximo defeats Achille and is finally united with Sophia... or so he thinks. It seems that Achille was, in reality, being controlled by a demon that has been hitherto in disguise as Sophia. With Achilles defeated, the demon reveals itself and attempts to devour Maximo. Maximo prevails, however, and the demon is sent back to the realm from whence it came. In the midst of the carnage, however, Maximo's kingdom is destroyed.
With his kingdom in ruins and his love Sophia nowhere in sight, Maximo feels defeated. Grim comes to Maximo's side and thanks him for all that he has done. He also reveals that he owes Maximo a favor. But Maximo does not care about any material gain; he only wishes to have his true love back. Grim informs Maximo that Sophia is not dead (He should know- he is the Reaper) and that she is still out there somewhere. The sorceress tell Maximo that they will rebuild his kingdom and that they await his return. With that, Maximo tells Grim that he will start off on a search for Sophia. Maximo will not be alone, however: he recruits Grim for the cause, cashing in that debt of a favor.
And so Maximo and Grim start off on their new journey. This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship.
Maximo is still searching for his lost princess, Sophia. Grim has already searched the underworld and has found no sign of her. But their quest is interrupted when a woman runs to Maximo afraid of the mechanised creature following her. It attacks but Grim destroys it, Grim then investigates and proclaims that the creature is powered by a stolen compressed spirit. He gives Maximo a Death Koin, to summon Grim, before leaving for the underworld to try and fix the problem. Maximo now goes off to destroy the source of these creatures.
Finally, Maximo proceeds into the Zin fort. He travels through the levels, destroying a huge soul compressor and rescuing Tinker. She then reveals she helped create a new type of Zin modelled on Maximo himself. Maximo fights his way through the Zin hoards and destroys the guns. Tink and Maximo fire themselves off the exploding fort and meet Lord Bane and a vast Zin army. Maximo proceeds to destroy the Zin forces and Bane himself.
A spirit rises from Bane's mechanical shell; it is none other than Achilles, the treacherous sorcerer from Maximo: Ghosts to Glory. Maximo and Grim join forces to destroy this fiend and Achilles is bound to the underworld for all time.
Grim and Maximo part company once more to continue their search for Sophia. The quest continues...
