Well we know it's gonna happen one way or the other since the series popularity, atleast in the game series to say the least, hasnt dropped by the steady flow of followers it still has even after spanning every single platfrom since NES so why wouldnt it continue into the acclaimed "Hi-Def" erra of video games. Now i know probably not many of us here has an extra five to six hundred dollars lying around just waiting to spent on a PS3, definitely not me thats for sure, but I'm still excited over the idea of a DBZ for PS3. At this point the only things I could theoretically be sure of is it's most likely going to be a fighting game and if theyve already begun production on it it's likely to come out in fall of '07 or maybe as far as fall of '08. I say fall ofcourse because as any of us know ever since B1 the following games in the series have come out in the fall months, and although i know it's a much more daunting task to program a game for the PS3 than the PS2,and heck i wouldnt mind waiting two years if they actually got every last detail of the series down and perfect as they should after so many oppurtunities, would you?

Even though it's release or even an announcement of it's development could be quite far off I figured it wouldnt do any harm to speculate and toss some ideas around to eachother to see what we'd like to have done in this next generation installment besides the usual never ending request for a perfect game with every line of dialogue from the anime executed perfectly and cinimaticcally along with every other regular perfection weve expected for a long time. Like maybe a new fighting system or graphic design or new control scheme ideas from anyone whos been mulling over em for awhile. So have fun with it and I have plenty thoughts of my own on the matter so I hope I'm not alone in this. sweatdrop

DBZ:BT2 will be most likely ported to it and DBZ:BT will most likely not be continued so I can only imagine a new string of dbz games, budokai could very well be dead.

Why would you think they'd port BT2 over? I dont see a reason to,you can play PS2 games on it so really that wouldnt make sense. But to tell the truth the last thing they could possibly do that's new is to make as I've suggested before and Ultimate DBZ game. Because even though the gameplay is pretty dang good in T2 it can be honed even further, but the way i see it I could stand one more release if they further sharpened and added onto the fighting system in T2 and just stop being lazy and put everything in the game. I think I'll make a list of the basics for the heck of it:

1. CG Cutscenes in the style of T1's opening movie cus i thought it was better than T2's opening style, for every part of the story not just the main points from DB all the way through GT to please the fans of every portion of the humonguos story line cus believe it or not there are some who really liked GT.

2. Actually have EVERY stage and area from the movies/series. So we'll no longer have to fight battles that took place in completely unique areas in the same generic ones as before like fighting Janemba atop kami's tower instead of making the time to create an arena for hell with all the jelly bean and other weird objects conjured up by Janembas evil. I mean c'mon, they made it for Shin Budokai for god sakes and that was a portable game with less production value, although dont get me wrong i loved it and whoever wrote the story mode script did an awesome job.

3. They did really well adding in just about every character in the game who has even the smallest amount of fighting skill's this time around but I'd like to see more costume and technique variations, atleast every variation shown in the series in movies. They dont have to strain their brains making up unique costumes as long as they get every one shown to begin with.

And thats just the tip of the iceburg as far as details go but I really believe theyve gone as far as they need to in the game series at this point and the last thing they need to do is to go out in a glorious and epic bang that'll blow away all previous games in ever way,graphics/design/gameplay and everything else inbetween and really give a quality package of closure to the many fans of the series, hardcore or otherwise, that won't leave you wishing it had more. I think were ready for it after following DB over ten's of games spanning over more systems than i count on two hands and possibly two feet as well.

I also don't think that Budokai Tenkaichi 2 will be ported over because if it was going to, it would have been done already for the PS3 launch, just like they did with the Wii version of the game.

I honestly don't know what to expect for the future of DBZ games, but I'm excited for whatever could possibly come about. 3nodding

They've already started on this game. theres not info on it at the moment but I most likley will be a Fighting game and Hopefully Not Tenkaichi. (at least for me) But with the 50gb of space they better not let it go to waist. I want everything they can put into it. ^___^

Thats what I'm talking about, 50GB dual layer disc space is plenty to do the entire story with awesome CG cutscenes.

A friend and I were talking and we thought that it'd be cool if they somehow continued the DBZ series through the video games. Meaning they get permission from Akira Toriyama to extend upon the series. This would be a pretty awesome idea, as long the story line doesn't suck. I think it'd be something cool to work with in future games.

lol I've been continuing the series in so many ways in my mind for years. But really I'd seriously doubt them doing that, if they were to do something like continuing the series it would be done in an anime series and not in-game because they would feel it's not worth producing in a game first since it wouldnt attract as many fans as a new TV series would. But then again think about it, GT turned off so many fans with it's various terrible plots and many other problems so I'm not sure they'd go for another spin off ten years later although I think it would be more possible to see more movies/tv specials come out featuring new events in the various plot holes in the series than entirely new series itself. I mean,I'vbe thought of so many ways they can carry on DBZ with Trunks future since most events in both of their times are sequential he'd still have Babidi and Buu's revival to deal with. And besides, weve seen how they handle the story in most DBZ games and truthfully it might just be adding more salt to our recently opened wounds with new ideas if their not delivered well.

I've had a unique idea in my head lately for a DBZ game. Basically, it takes place while the Saiyans are working for Frieza and you play as a Saiyan that you create. I could have a story mode, but it would mostly be focused around online multiplayer. You basically go around conquering planets with other players. It would use the same general fighting system as the Tenakaichi, but tweaked for fighting multiple enemies. Different planets could be designated by diffculty level and the blue ray's huge storage capacity would allow for an engine that could create unique speceies for each planet along with unique planets. You could even integrate player vs. player fighting easily.

Sounds like an awesome idea,I had a similiar one back in the day when i first started playing pokemon where it'd be awesome if they'dm kae a game where you play as a team rocket member. lol Another thing that could be added to that idea is character customization, and alot of it. I mean if they can make a thorough character maker in a game with realistic graphics like Saints Row then they can sure make something decent with DBZ. But like I said already odds are they wouldnt plan on making a soin off game from the series but I dont doubt that it would be refreshing.

I agree with you on all points, cuz T1's opening movie was indeed alot better than T2's. I just think for the Ultimate DBZ the really should like you said focus on getting every aspect of DBZ in it. B/C it really seems like they are just being lazy with the franchise, I mean they release a new game which is basically the same game with upgrades over and over and still have yet to get every aspect of DBZ in it. Like one thing that was buggin me was how they just now got all of Goku's Costumes w/ correct symbols, so he has like 5 or 6 costumes but only managed to give other characters 2 some that had even more than Goku.

It really sucked playing through the story of GT in T2 with DBZ dressed characters. stressed You play as Future Trunks in the GT story instead the GT Trunks which just to me seemed to be simple laziness on there part when all they had to do was give him a different costume. And I for one will be happy when they give Goku his saiyan armor from the Cell Saga. I have been waiting on that for a while now. And the long hair Future Trunks (w/sword) from the Bojack movie. When they finally get all the costumes right it will indeed be a miracle.

Aaaaand the story mode. How hard can it be to incorporate the cutscenes back into it. They did such a great job with B1 story mode, and all have sucked since then. They have just gotten to the point of summerizing the story rather than actually letting us see it, and that just sucks. Just seems like they are being incredibly lazy to me. but ahhh well one can hope sweatdrop

Glad someone agrees and sees all the obvious points as I do. And yeah,it's pretty pathetic that it took a game like Sagas to cover a variety of costumes. I cant wait till the day they put in pre-teen trunks as a playable character, from the first half of the Trunks featurette where he wore the blue and white capsule corp. long sleeve shirt. I mean c'mon, sagas EVEN added in future gohan with AND without his left arm so yeah it's pathetic that they cant get that right in the reg. series, and yes sagas even added in goku with his saiyan armor and gohan as well. Totally awesome even though the game wasnt that great and was damn monotonous.

I just hope they make a DBZB4, with all the things people liked before but more! added on to it. The game was nearly perfect except that every character had the same dragon rush or same movements in fighting style.

Thats why I say they need to single out 10 or 15 characters and just make a fighting game period. This game should also be online, so you can make real custom characters or characters you developed in the game to kick some wordly a**. That my dbz friends would ubberly pwn some mack daddy poon tang!!! domokun

Actually they did do that, check out Super Dragonball Z. They only had about that many characters and it's more like a traditional fighting game like Street Fighter but with some Budokai like elements added in like flying, and sidestepping.

sidestepping has been around since virtua fighter, and is in superdbz for the fact that it is a 3d fighting game key movement.
