A sweet breeze blew across the sand as a small blue Kura walked the beach, head held high. Arysil always did enjoy the fragrant smell of fruit over the salt of the ocean, but she also preferred the beach warmth over the forest shade. She settled herself on a log, spreading her pale wings to the sun. As they opened, her bright gold spots shifted and became a soft pastel blue, and tiny golden spots appeared in the darker blue where there were none before. She emitted a contented sigh as she soaked up the sun's rays.
Prancing toward Arysil, rather than walking like any normal Kura, was a rather dashing looking male Kura by the name of Takeshi. His newest 'promotion' to that of Alpha male, seemed to have made him more outgoing, something that the once shy Kura could not have done with out. Now, seeing this rather attractive female Kura, Takeshi felt the need to be even more outgoing, and, with fake confidence, approached the blue female.
The startled femme looked up from her sunning when she heard paws traversing the sands, folding her wings and turning her spots back to their normal colour. She turned silver eyes to the male approaching her. "Mmm? Who are you?"
Blue eyes locked with the silver, so he could concentrate on the current situation. Takeshi gave a small smile before returning the females question with an answer of his own. "Takeshi is my name, I am the Alpha male of Chazevo Clan... and you are?"
She turned her eyes away respectfully as she answered, acknowledging his rank. "I am Arysil of Chazevo. It is... nice to meet you. What business have you, at the top of the ranks, with one so lowly as I, who dwells at the bottom? Surely you would have many other females vying for your attention."
"Ahh the females.." Maybe he could act like he was a player, and maybe make this female jealous..? Or not, Takeshi couldn't pretend to be something he is not! "They are all the same, but I came to visit one I have heard much stories of interest about." He gave her another of his smiles and added, "Please, do not turn your eyes away, we should all be equals no?"
Her ears twitched slightly and she raised her head at that. She turned her gaze on him again, yet still unwilling to meet his eyes when she had no right. "Stories? What sort of stories? Surely you are mistaken... There is nothing particularly interesting about me. I just sun on the beach, smell flowers and eat berries in the bushes."
"Oh but there are," the alpha male replied. "I hear stories from far and wide of the female with midnight colored fur and entrancing silver eyes. It could only be you." He continued, mustering some charm whilst he was at it. The female was beautiful no doubt, but to make her his own, would be quite the challenge and take some time.
She flicked her wings in slight agitation, causing her spots to blink. "Really now? Do share. What stories do they tell about me?" She cocked her head curiously at him. He was certainly acting strange... Most would never have bothered to glance at her. She wasn't sure what to make of it.
"Err... Umm..." The male fumbled for words, he hadn't actually planned for the female to keep asking so many questions any other in their right mind would be flatter at the thought of others talking about their beauty and then move on to other, more interesting topics to the male. "They talk of your beauty... and grace! Yes grace and umm... your mystery!" Takeshi tried to sound as convincing as a male thinking on the spot could be... which wasn't very good.
She smiled a little at the male's stumbling. It seemed so awkward, perhaps he was nervous about something? She flicked her wings again, spots twinkling faintly at the quick movement. "Beauty, grace, and mystery, you say? Why, are they making me out to be a secluded princess? Fascinating!" She turned her head to peer across the waves, tired of talking to his nose. If she was going to avoid staring him in the eyes, the least she could do was look confident while doing so. "But that doesn't explain why you're awake and talking with me at such a ridiculously early hour."
Takeshi too, turned his eyes away from her at the time of her question. It was one he couldn't think of a smart and believable answer to. Thats a first! "Umm.. no reason... just out for a night time stroll..." Hey, it was the best he could think of, The alpha hadn't expected that the female would be so inquisitive.
Arysil stifled a laugh. "Nighttime stroll? But the sun hasn't even set. I'll tell you what, though, I know of one story they tell about me. But only after dark will you see why." Her eyes lit up as she noticed the subtle changes in the sky; it was slowly shifting to the blazing scarlet of dusk across the sea.
Takeshi was curious to see what this story could be. He had only been bluffing about the stories before, trying to win her over with some flattery, and most girls would, no should have been impressed. She is a toughie... Takeshi would have to sit it out and wait to see what sort of story she could be talking about. "Hrm... what is this story then?"
Her eyes remained fixed on the horizon, watching the day's sun sink to its fiery death beneath the ocean waves. "The story? It's more rumor and myth... I've heard them call me a bringer of wishes and good fortune: 'When Midnight's Grace flies on blossoming breeze, make fast your wish 'fore she should leave.' Not that I'd ever been able to grant their wishes, but it's one thing they've told. Thinking on that now, it sounds a bit silly... but it has some sense to it," Arysil turned her head just slightly, tilting it as she glanced in his direction. How curious is this new clan Alpha, she wondered.
"Sounds... interesting" Said Takeshi, trying to hide his disinterest in said story, which sounded like some form of poetry, which he isn't really fond of. "If you don't mind me asking. Why do you keep looking into the distance?"
She smiled faintly. "Because... It's nearly nightfall. At night the thick air slows us down... but when I speed myself up with the winds... That's when you can see why the story makes sense. You'll see.... that is, if you can see me when the sky matches my coat."
Her silver eyes twinkled with exceitement and challenge as the dying day slowly gave way to newborn night. "So tell me, Takeshi... Have you ever tried to catch a shooting star?"

Takeshi just looked at her as she spoke. He didn't know what she was rambling about, but pretended to listen anyway. "Catch a shooting star?" He asked bemused. "I didn't even know that was possible, but I would if I could do it!"
"And what for, Takeshi? Why would you want to catch one? What would it prove?" Her silver eyes glittered with the reflection on the waves, and her face remained curious, questioning.
Takeshi tilted his head. She asked too many confusing and pointless questions. How was he supposed to know. Its not like he had much time to think about the subject. She only just brought it up! "Errr... I don't know what I would do. Thats a hard question. I suppose I would catch one to give to my beloved, to show how much I care!" Haha! That was sure to convice her that Takeshi is a caring and romatic Kura.
Arysil frowned a little, disappointed. "And who would that be?" She paused, wondering why she'd even bothered asking.
"Who would who be?" Takeshi asked, confused. She asked too many questions! It not like he has someone special...
Arysil sighed, now annoyed. "You just said, if you caught a shooting star it would be for your beloved. But... Nevermind. Forget I said anything. Go... go make eyes at your love, and send her my regards. If you wish to find me again, I'll be here. I'm always here, waiting for mine to come." At that, she pointedly turned away in her irritation, spreading out in an attempt to soak whatever warm rays remained of the day's sunshine.
Takeshi, stunned by the female's choice of words, sat on the ground and watched her as she turned, a blank look on his face. "I... I don't have a love!" He called out before she could leave. His suggestion about the shooting star was in reference to no one. He didn't know what made her think otherwise. "Anyway, whats turned you sour?" The female's change of emotion startled him, and he wanted to know why.
She turned her head only slightly to look back, eyes flashing. Her reply was soft and muffled by the fur into which she spoke. "Because I wanted to know. You're a Chazevo too; you have Sight. Look into my future and tell me what you find." Her voice was strained slightly; what could be heard of it, anyway. She forcefully squashed the urge to run; she was too proud and tradition-bound for that. But... what did he want? Was he going to do what everyone else did, coming only to toy with her?
"I'm afraid to look for myself. Look, and tell me." She blurted it out before she could stop herself; her jaw clamped tightly shut once she realized that she said it aloud. What was she doing?
