I really love fencing and hope to be able to get into tournaments. But how good do you have to be? Are the tournaments fun?

tournaments are loads of fun! just make sure ur equpitment works and can pass weights and shims. last saturday, i lost a bout 15-14 after getting 3 red cards due to equipment failure gonk it sucked. i would've gotten an award and made top 8!

Ugh. I hate cards being pulled... Last year at midwest in Illinois, my blood pressure dropped like mad while I was fencing. And I started to get really disorented and knocked the light box (That's what I call it, haha.) off the table onto the strip. After the bout I fell over and was taken to the nurse room, removed from the tournie... It sucked.
But tournies are awesome. I love them. You can learn so many new things by watching others fence! I love it!
